Hello, I believe that a proper introduction is needed much before my purpose for being here. My name is Dion, I'm 23 and I'm an actor over here in California. I do much more than just acting. I also screen write (I'm currently working on an off-beat indie romantic comedy that also caters to fans of old kung fu flicks, strange huh?!), I also co write/produce/co direct/act/etc for a top secret yet highly innovative theatric production. Other than my profession, I enjoy good music (Glass Candy, M83, Lady Gaga, Etc.), the beach, and am a closeted pro wrestling nerd.

Now for why I am here. A long time ago I was intrigued by the book Invisible Monsters after learning that the Panic! At The Disco song Time To Dance was inspired by the book. Fast forward some time after that, I've heard of the movie being in development. Fast forward even further, the news simply stopped coming in. So this is where I am willing to offer a proposal.

I think it would just be flat out amazing if Invisible Monsters not just get a film adaptation but also...a play/experimental theatre adaptation. I honestly do not know how to get a hold of Chuck Palahniuk himself about the idea but I figured that it would be best to get input and support from the book's fans first.

If everything goes to plan, the play would get written according to everyone's liking and would be making it's debut/test run in a major city over here in California. Good idea? Bad idea? Let me know!

Doesn't the top secret nature of your theater production kind of hinder your ability to reach and entertain the most massive masses, which from what I understand is usually the goal?

I think the Panic at the Disco songs might have been what led me to the books too. But we should probably keep that to ourselves because there isn't much love for that band round these parts.

I love Glass Candy. And guess who saw M83 here in town a couple days ago? That's right. All the more prepared people in this area. I watched a couple of youtube videos that day though. And cried.

Anyway. I doubt you'll ever get a hold of Palahniuk. People have tried before for similar projects and I don't believe it's ever happened.

Hahahahahahahaha Thanks. For the reply, I was wondering if anyone would. Well in terms of my production, you're right. Keeping it a secret is usually really unhealthy for a company but risks excite me. Plus, we're actually waiting for the right time to unveil the show.

Since you love Glass Candy, I automatically love you. Congrats.

Hhmm, I might not ever get a hold of him but I should still go for it. If I had a dime for every time someone said something is impossible and I end up doing it anyway, I'd be richer than Mitt Romney.

Welcome.

I think you should change your goals about being here and just come bullshit with us and entertain us in GA.

Thank you for the welcome good sir! I don't think you'd want me to contribute to the State of the Cult, but thank you for the offer though. Smile Big

The main reason not many people replied is because most people who make intro threads don't stick around. The other one may or may not be that they all hate you. Probably just that first reason though.

How close are you to having an actual show to show? Have you ever done this before?

Oh thanks. I'm going to go ahead and guess that we have a fairly similar taste in music.

May the Copyright Gods smile upon your future endeavors and not smite you with a fiery lawsuit. Really though the main obstacle will just going through with it to the end. I get the feeling that all of the people who have asked for permission to do plays/musicals wouldn't have ended up doing shit even with all of the author's approval. One guy hadn't even bothered to read the story he was so intent on dramatizing. That's probably why Palahniuk & Co. ignore all these independent requests.

I've never been around for discussion on THE STATE OF THE CULT.

I judge every one of you every day though.

Unofficially but also unmercifully.

LOL! You guys are awesome. Thanks for the cake! I'll try to not eat it all in one sitting.

Production wise, it's in the preproduction phases. With this rough economy, unless if you are companies like Microsoft, Apple, etc... you are more than likely to not survive. Especially in the Arts. The best way for me to go about it, is to treat this thing a if it was a small business. The current state my production is in a recruiting phase. We are looking for more volunteer staff to help write, give creative input, etc. Who knows, possibly over time I'll give you guys material to go over if you'd like in the future.

Don't worry about me btw, I'm planning on staying aspirations aside. I thought an introduction thread would be the best way to get on everyone's good side but I guess that's where I went wrong, then mentioning P!ATD... LOL!

If you like bands like Glass Candy, Grimes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bat For Lashes, etc then we are musically intune. Smile Big

I hope the copyright fat cats enjoy my company. :S Would Meow Mix please them?

If you're into the whole writer's workshop thing, I hear LitReactor doesn't suck. But yeah, if you finish writing something interesting, some people here may read it.

Hey, we were all teenagers once.

Two and a half out of four. I'm counting on a curve here.

Nothing but your blood will please them!

And I don't mean this in any type of snarky way but do you write more original stuff too?

What's your favorite movie?

What's your favorite book?

Who's your favorite author?

What's your favorite food?

What's your favorite website?

Where's your favorite place?

Is Cujo a good name for a cat?

And do you want some lobster?

Haha Thanks for your approval Alecia.

Other than film and theatric writings? I do not. I wanted to get into song writing once but I'm absolute shit at it. Then again, would that mean I can make a lot of money at it?

What's your favorite movie?
I have too many favorites but Black Swan is a great one. If you want to go old school...The Birds.

What's your favorite book?
I know that this sounds really lame but outside of Invisible Monsters I enjoy reading text books. I have a miniature library of all aspects regarding what I do. But! My favorite one out of the bunch would be... The Essential Theatre Second Edition By Oscar G. Brockett. Other than those... The Great Gatsby.

Who's your favorite author?
The people who write my text books. Chuck is a great writer too.

What's your favorite food?
Bacon Cheese Burgers. Can't eat too much of them though.

What's your favorite website?
Stumble Upon is a lot of fun. Does that count?

Where's your favorite place?
I've always wanted to go to Cape Town, South Africa. It looks like a remarkable city.

Is Cujo a good name for a cat?
Depends on the breed of cat. Sounds pretty original though.

And do you want some lobster?
Lobster sounds amazing but I'm already full. Thanks though. Sad

You remind me of a guy who used to post called Levi. Mostly because of your niceness and interest in theater.

What about your favorite place that you've been to?

lol! Well rest assured good sir, I am no Levi. I would say that he sounds like a good person but I think that would further your belief that I could possibly be him, if you believe that I am such individual.

Favorite place that I've been to? Hhmm, I would have to say... Las Vegas. Tacky, I know. lol I guess I just enjoy the fact that it practically never sleeps, plus the shows there are awesome.

But then, at the same time he responded to me pleasantly as though he was interested in engaging in conversation and Levi never really like me. He never said outright he didn't like me, but it was kind of obvious he didn't and that I annoyed him.

Look at me talking about you, and whether you may or may not be someone, like you aren't ever here.
