Hello. (yep, that's all I got)
Hello. Again!
I'm finally posting after signing up 'bout 2 yrs. ago. I was reminded that I signed up when I received a birfday message from the site. It gave me the warm fuzzies, and I felt compelled to follow through with a post.
I have a poor attention span, and Mister Chuck is prolly the only writer who can hold my interest. Don't have a fave book, but I'm partial to Fight Club, which was my first encounter with CP. Plus, I really admire his generosity when it comes to encouraging newbie writers. He's a righteous dude.
About me: I'm sajz, which is Polish for Lennay Kekua. I'm a girl. I like pizza, ice cream, dogs, Jimi Hendrix, cute boys who are kind, naps, sunsets, lamp, compliments, and a whole bunch of other stuffs.
I'm way to old to be saying sh#t like stuffs, prolly, fuzzies,
dude, etc. But f#ck that.
The posters on this forum are brainy and hilarious. I'm honored to be in your presence. Word.
It's laaamp. Laaamp.
It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.
Laaaaamp. Laaaaamp.
Better than bad; it's good.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I love lamp.
lennay kekua. i see what you did there. how topical!
It's still going right over my head?
I like pizza, ice cream, dogs, Jimi Hendrix, cute boys who are kind, naps, sunsets, lamp,
I want to see this lamp that you like so much. Picture please!
Hi sajz, I'm gonna call you Lenny for now just because. Do you mean LAMP as in LAMP Stack, or an actual lamp? We need pics of this awesome lamp if so. How old are you? As in how old is too old to speak those references? Over 16 maybe? Also I like the term referring to Chuck as CP, nice and short and reminds me of a disease for some reason. If you like compliments just post many pics in the dress-down thread and you shall receive.
Also I'm jelly that I didn't receive a birfday message from the site.

Does Orange juice make you sick? It always makes me sick. To acidic. Like Hasidic jews, it just sounds like acidic juice.
As your attorney, my advise to you is to start drinking heavily(er).-Tuffy

Welcome!
I like most of the things on your list too.
So, Welcome!
Imke, please! I'm just not a fan of cursing. It's so fucking vulgar.
I would like to be called Lenny.
Lamps - what's not to like?
Lamp!
I like Lenny. I'm going with that.
I like lamp = Ron Burgundy reference. But I do like lighting fixtures, and clever design in general.
My age! I remember when MTV played music videos! So yes, I am over 16.
Where is this dress-down thread? Why is it called that? Are there pics of butt-nekkid peeps? I like butt-nekkid peeps.
Annnndddd......HAPPY BIRFDAY TO ZACK from Lenny on behalf of Mister Chuck and the CP site or whatever!
(your avi: CHUBBY BABY SO CUTE!)
Thank you for the welcome Miss Pepper!
Yes, I'm a topical gal.
In other news, President Kennedy was shot.
Okay you are going to have to get used to a lot of cursing my dear lamp. I curse more than most anyone I know. Shit and Fuck just seem to flow out of my mouth. And even a few cunts now and again.
But I will try to hold off if your around.
But here's the question of the day. If a horse were to run into a house full of hens. What would be on tv?
As your attorney, my advise to you is to start drinking heavily(er).-Tuffy
You would have to be over 40 for this to be true.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Well, MTV played videos when I was a kid and I'm 25. Sure it was Britney Spears, boybands, and Eminem, but still...
But I will try to hold off if your around.
But here's the question of the day. If a horse were to run into a house full of hens. What would be on tv?
Mister Noah, please do not censor your words in my presence. I won't tolerate that! You say all the fucks you need to.
I have some kind of tourettes where I only seem to curse at blatantly inappropriate times. It's getting to be a problem.
And the answer to the question of the day:
Masterpiece Theatre. Fuck yeah!
Well she seemed all right. She had spunk.
It's probably a guy though, right? With the Lennay Kekua reference?
Either way, entertaining at least.
But A Very Old Soul...
(I figured either you or Pep would smack me down for that.) Yes, Mtv was still playing music videos in '82. You are one of the lucky few that can still remember when that was all they played. The rest of us are now senile.
This is why we can't have nice things.
It was still playing music videos and making ofs when I was in secondary school and still watched tv. That was less than 10 years ago.
That was in Romania. You guys were just getting out of the disco age 10 years ago.
No, we still had the US MTV programme back then. We got a national channel in 2002, but it still showed only American stuff for a few years. Only shows in Romanian were the charts and the news.
Girls today have Rihanna, I had this. 2002-2003 (my sixth grade) is still what I consider the best in pop music out of all my teeenage years.
See, anyone of a certain age thinks they remember when Mtv "played videos"; the point is there was a time when that was all they played. Not filler between gameshows, not "after Real World", not "mostly", not "usually". You turned on Mtv and Billy Freaking Idol was Dancing With His Freaking Self. All The Freaking Time. 24/7/365.
This is why we can't have nice things.
There were no shows back then. I only remember Making The Video and MTV News and the charts. When I started high school there was already crap on tv, and when I got an Internet connection a year later I stopped watching tv.
That being said, I would take Vh1 over any of the MTVs.
This could be my favourite post ever.
PREACH!
Think I better dance now.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Irina thinks she remembers music videos on MTV.
That's like me saying they really did, I swear, play something other than Sir Mix A Lot's Put 'em on the Glass on The Box. (my friends were poor, they didn't have cable)
I didn't have cable when I was a kid. I didn't see a music video until like 2005. On the internet of course.
lolllll
Which one was it?
Actually, I guess it was more like 2002 now that I consider the songs. N.E.R.D.'s Rock Star and various Eminem videos are the earliest I can remember. And Dilemma!
What videos popped all y'alls proverbial audio/visual cherries?
The very first music video i ever saw was Money for Nothing by Dire Straits, the computer animated one. I was five years old and i remember it clearly. I was at a babysitter's house and he turned on the TV and that video was on.
Earliest video I remember seeing - on Mtv - was Siouxsie & The Banshees' "Spellbound".
This is why we can't have nice things.
This is what pops into my head first. My mom was in her late 20's when we first got MTV, so it stayed on almost all the time (also, early Nickelodeon. Those were the days!). I distinctively remember hearing this song and seeing light flashing from the TV as I got closer to the living room, running down the hall to hear/see it. It had to be sometime in 1982 or really close because I had been in my new little brother's room playing when I heard it.
Those are all old goodies.
The very first one was within the year that MTV first broadcast. My friend Rocky (a girl classmate) had cable and MTV. It was very exciting to watch, at the time.
Dirty Creatures by Split Endz
I think they were somehow connected to Squeeze and Crowded House.
Wow, Jess. I loved Dilemma. Still do.
First music video I ever actually saw was this...
Late-1979. Pretty mind-blowing at the time. Changed my life.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Mine was Michael Jackson's Billy Jean.

Oh yeah! Hey, remember Night Flight? It was like the prototype for MTV. It went on nearly all night long. Thank goodness my family didn't care if I stayed up late. That's when I got to see 'Rock n' Rule' and a bunch of good stuff.
And SCTV(second city tv) from Canada, was the predecessor to SNL.
So, here's some SCTV. The first commecial by bon jour is real. But it's equally funny as the send up. The tampon parody, not so much.
Hell yeah.
Also, I listened to and enjoyed all your videos. Especially Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Haha, please don't write "sh#t" and "f#ck". It's shit and fuck.
Should we call you Lennay? Or Sajz? I'm somewhat confused about the name thing.
Why are you a lamp-fan?
