Hello everyone. "Cultists", that's what I've heard them call you. I'm a new member here, just got on a few days ago. Wanted to introduced myself:
My name is Greg, nice to meet you too.
I'd like for everyone to say hi at some point. And if anyone has any pointers, or tips on how I can use the site to it's full potential. Let me know. Or if there is any sort of way I should go about doing it in order or something. Read Chuck's Essays first? Start reviewing work right away, anything.
Well there it is. I hope I meet some of you very talented fellow writers at some point.

Hi Greg,

I'm no writer, and I don't have any pointers, but I always like the monthly "What are you reading?" Book Club threads.

But I'm sure one of the many talented writers here will point you in the right direction.

Smile

Welcome to the cult.

hey, greg. welcome to the cult !!

here is a link to great essays on the craft:

here are some short pieces by cult friends:

to use the place to its full potential, work your ass off in the workshop for at least a year; read and dissect stories and then put some of yours up to be read and dissected. that's a quick [though hard] way to become more conscious in your work. and definitely read chuck's essays. i am personally partial to the first six of them. i started writing fiction after reading his first one, because it put writing into perspective for me for the first time. youve certainly come to the right place.

I actually just did my first review/critique last night.
I read two of Chuck's essays. Been writing for a while now, but really ready to get a lot better.
And this site looked like the best idea. But I will look into reading more of his essays. I was thinking weekly or every other week I would read one essay, and write a story applying it to a specific story. But I'm still just trying to find my balance. But thanks for introducing yourselves guys. Look forward to reading some more stories, and posting some of my own.

Hello, Greg.

I've had a profile for awhile, but I'm only starting to use it more frequently. I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself also. Hope the site is as fun for you as it is for me.
