Hello, Darkness, my old friend
Hey everybody!
My name is Leya, and I'm a sophomore at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, going for a Math and PoliSci double major. What do I do in my spare time? I play Contrabass Clarinet, do ridiculous amounts of community service, work on computers for food, write poems, short stories, and novels, and I paint and draw.
I got into reading Chuck Palahniuk when I was a junior in high school. I watched Fight Club after prom, and fell in love with it. I read the book the summer afterwards and became hooked. So far, I've read Fight Club, Choke, Lullaby, Haunted, Rant, Snuff, and Invisible Monsters. Next up is going to be Tell-All. After that, I'm not sure. It just depends on what my local bookstore will have next time I go there. I think my favorite would be Snuff, just because the ending is freaking hilarious.
Let's see...other authors and poets and other forms of expression that I'm interested in (I'm going with what I have on my dorm bookshelf...lol):
The Great Gatsby
The Republic
I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell
Sex and the City
Manifesto by anonymous (http://www.duke.edu/~jgj4/manifestoflyer.pdf)

Leya
Welcome, Leya. Do you pronounce that like Princess Leia?
Wait, after Prom you watched Fight Club? Don't get me wrong it's a good movie choice, but it seems like after Prom there would be something better to do?
Anywho, Welcome.
If you were a fish, what kind of fish would you be?
As your attorney, my advise to you is to start drinking heavily(er).-Tuffy
Thanks! That's really cool! I've noticed how small the world is a lot now that I've been in college.
I pronounce it as such: Lee-yuh. It's really different, which is why I like it. :]
A lot of us drank and watched Fight Club, and a few of the people who were with me did other things. lol. If I were to be a fish, I would say that I would be a Trout because it seems like I'm always swimming upstream and against the current.
Tis a mighty fine thread title ya got there, English.
Thanks! Sound of Silence is one of my favorite songs.

Welcome! My high school boyfriend is the Physics Instructional Resources Manager at your school. Small world...
