Hello cult
Yeah, i definitely agree with the last guy who joined. This section's a good idea.
anyways, about myself... i'm from southern west virginia, but live and go to school in chicago. i'm big into music, movies, books, gross overuse of ellipses... i've been reading chuck since shortly after the fight club movie came out and have been hooked since. i joined to learn more about writing and knife-fighting, both areas i'd like to work on.
"Making the simple complicated is commonplace--making the complicated simple, awesomely simple--that's creativity."
Sadly there isn't much knife fighting going on here but we hope that will change soon.... and ellipses rock.
Welcome.

Welcome K.
The Cult prides itself on improving the knife-fighting skills of all who join up, so you've come to the right place.
We'll start with the slash-n-thrust...
Sadly there isn't much knife fighting going on here .
You obviously haven't been in the Book Club. It's like West Side Story in there - Jets, Sharks and a whole lot of spilt blood.
Damn, I've been missing out then. I've always been missing out.

Welcome to The Cult.
Get ready to wonder where all your time's gone.
A-hoy matie, K! Looks like the pirate personality has the body today. Arrgh and shiver me timbers and whatnot.
OT: How does one get into the knife fight in the book club? I'm told I need a new password via administration? I've got me rusty scabard ready and really, what I need is yet another distraction from my own writing.

"well she's either a cruel horny bitch or she might actually like you." - audreythirteen
forget kinife fighting. gun fighting is much more fun. prepare to be devastated.
oh, have you ever been to gibson's, or the 'berg or thebilly goat place without coke or fries?
Welcome aboard, Klaunstance.
framstedt - the billy goat place - you talking about the burger joint in Chicago? Isn't there some myth involving the Cubs and a goat the World Series? I tried to go there last time I was in Chicago - the cab dropped us off and was long gone by the time we turned around and realized the place was closed. We had to walk all the way back to Michigan Ave - felt like miles. God, I hated cabbies that day.

yes. not sure about the myth though. but, if you can go, go for the lunch. the line is out the door and yet they ask your order long before you get to the cashier so that by the time you reach the cashier you're order is ready and waiting for you.
cabbies suck - in general
framstedt quoting framstedt, on new york cabbies

I would do knife throwing, like in house of flying daggers but with less dancing and flying.
