Hello
Hi everybody,
I've been reading a lot of your posts and I've finally decided to join.
Seems interesting and fun enough so I'll give it a go.
I apologize if sometimes my English may be not that great but it is not my mother tongue, as I am portuguese.
I'll be seeing you around.
And of course, happy 2009.
i love reading gradual posts from members like gtina, how her russian tongue gets more and more fluent with english grammar months after months.

have fun and look around and if you have any questions, be sure to pipe up

Hello and welcome. Your english is fine and I'm sure any mistakes you make will be more endearing than stupid, so don't hold back.
Thank you very much for the warm welcoming.
I really enjoy reading such authors as Henry Rollins, Hemingway, Bret Easton Ellis and portuguese writers like Saramago, Lobo Antunes and Pessoa. I believe one of Portugal's richest treasures is the literature we produce.
Maybe you've read some of them? Saramago's book "Blindness" was just turned into a movie.
If anyone saw it, please tell me what you think.
I also like to write, althought I still couldn't finish anything. It is quite a challenge. But I'm not someone to give up, so who knows?
My main passion is music, I really love playing guitar. Been playing since my teens, mostly self-taught, with 2 years in a jazz school.Used to have a band but now I'm on my own.
I also love photography. I spend hours browsing on the net just watching photos. Not so talented behind the lens, at least nothing satisfying.
Hi and welcome.
Is Baris Azman a good name for a filmmaker ?

The powers that be instruct me to say YES.
Welcome Paulo.
Ive read Blindness and once I got used to the lack of chapters and paragraphs I really enjoyed it. I have a copy of Seeing on my must read shelf.
Have a good look around
Derek

Happy 2009 to you, too.
I think your English looks great. We have quite a few members that don't speak English as a first language and have been able to learn a lot by reading through the threads on this site.
I hope you'll stick around and let us know your favorite authors and what you do in your leisure time. Nice to meet you.
