greetings
It's ok, Janey.
And Lunch Box Man Boy Billy Jean, House of Leaves is by Mark Z. Danielewski.
G5 was just telling me about it the other day. It sounds intriguing. I would read it if I didn't have books lined up until the end of the summer.
There is hope, but not for us.
HoL should be on the top of your list. If you need any convincing, sit down with Proto and listen to him talk about it. He give it the respect it deserves.
But...but...I still have to reread Trainspotting.....and read F&R....I'm going to wait until I get to college to read HOL, because then maybe the school library will have it and I can read it for free.
There is hope, but not for us.
Mark needs money!... even though HoL was a national best seller.
I need money too. I have no bestseller and am about to embark upon 7-8 years of college. So I'd rather read it for free.
There is hope, but not for us.
XChuck, i sent an e-mail to luke's adress and he sent me a nice reply only a few hours later
:D
That's awesome! Post the email (if you have it), and his address, I want to contact the Dice Man.
Oh, and I checked the book, and on the bottom of the first page of Chapter One he says that the book is his autobiography.
this is lukes reply to my e-mail, the explanation about the epilouge at the end was because i didnt understand it and asked him, his e-mail is lukec@taconic.net
"Thank you for your lovely letter. If you read and liked THE DICE MAN and
feel you've learned a lot new about your life then don't feel you have to do
any dicing. The important thing is to realize you don't have to be as
limited as society would like to make you.
To answer your general questions let me suggest you look at the website
www.lukerhinehart.net. It should fill you in.
The epilogue parable is trying to express the idea that even in the most
limited and dire situation an aware person realizes that there are more
options available than the average person sees. Even as death threatens
luscious strawberries may still be there for us.
Best wishes and thanks again for your note,
Luke"
i sent another e-mail a few days ago because i had a few more questions that could bot be answered on the website, i still havnt gotten a reply. maybe he is just too busy, which is perfectly understandable. anyway, i'll let you know if i hear from him again.

Okay. I promise I will stop the hate. I apologize for being a huge snob. Back to happiness.
There is hope, but not for us.
