greetings
Hi all....so I crashed the party...and for the most part have enjoyed all the forum posts. Wanted to say hello and let you all know that I am newbie and welcome the ongoing banter!
on some of the posts I've read~ I know that the majority of you are all very welcoming and sweet, some of you are funny, smart and witty and some are hell bent on correcting every flaw even down to the monkey! lol
but I'm not so bad, really, i promise. Don't be afraid of the new people.
peace.
As cultists, by default con artists, it is usually themselves the cult member 'cons' first. They are usually less than special and even if they have some status or authority in real life their delusional fantasies are frustrated in the real world...
i should fit in just fine!
especially since Tom is in love with me! lmfao
did you make that monkey gif yourself? could you do those same effects to your avatar as well. like the same timing and everything.
i like my fantasies delusional, thanks.
i don't want to say anything yet because most new people i talk to seem to drop out by their 100th post.
this one's bossing you around already. she got spunk.

there is no reason you shouldn't...reality based fantasies wouldn't
be fantastic!
ok, you can remain silent if you like, but I prefer you didn't~!
Nope.
he already has one.
Pray...For...Mojo...
teehee
you said warm nuts.
Mkay, this one needs to stay. Here that? Don't fucking disappear, already.
By which I mean. Welcome. And since it's obligatory that I say this to all new people, read Will Christopher Baer.

i'm not going anywhere...*bawhahaha!
I will infect them all.
thanks, much poket5's...and perhaps (since there is a trip to the bookstore coming up) I will take a look at your recommendation!
also get Alasdair Gray's Lanark.
only they probably won't have that at an actual bookstore though...
oh yeah, and also get House of Leaves. They should have that.
There's a short by him somewhere on this site, to whet the appetite.
Ah, kabol posted it in another thread:

Dude! that blurb so doesn't even do it justice!
oooo ooooo also, get Alan Moore's Voice of the Fire.

thanks, pocket5's...i happened to read that just yesterday...so, which book would you suggest...
dang, I think my book bill for the week just went up! lol
He's only so far published a trilogy of books--Kiss Me, Judas; Penny Dreadful; and Hell's Half Acre. If you can find the Phineas Poe omnibus (all three of those) on eBay or something, since it's out of print, go for it. Otherwise, you can read them in order or not. Judas and Hell's Half are sort of in a continuity, while Penny Dreadful is like a side-adventure. I read them in order and it worked fine. If you can't find the omnibus, just don't get the new Hell's Half paperback, with the yellow cover, because as far as I know it's missing the end of the book.
didn't the omnibus just come out like last year? it's already out of print?
I am pretty new as well. Welcome! You are pretty funny!
you mean me?
I think the omnibus came out in 06. I was surprised too.
Well of course I meant you! No (can I call you Mr. Conceited?), I didn't mean you, but you do make me laugh as well, so I guess you can include yourself.
Just for clarification I meant KJT.

Hey Onyx...thanks. I always accept compliments! (maybe us new folks can be a shining example of hospitality)
Humor masks the pain that I feel when my little feelings are hurt...everyone just wants to be loved ...lmfao (kiddin', kinda)
I wanted to get this instead of three individuals it was over a hundred on Amazon, so, yeah, I think it's OOP.
Hey all..real new. Judging from the posts, looks like this is going to be fun.
J.E. Braun is the author of Paranoia, available at Amazon, BN.com, and most major booksellers. 10% of profits will go to the Twin Towers Orphan Fund (www.ttof.org).

AND in case you couldnt' tell I was new... I double-posted, just to make sure my newbie-ness was 100% blatant.

hello, jebraun
hey, kjt
as for the omnibus, hooligan.. yeah, it came out late oh-five and i guess it had only one print run
i bought the very last one on booksamillionDOTcom approx a year ago
but hope's not all gone: you have to find it on the shelves and the only place that i know to carry it often is borders. i checked a data base a few months ago and there are a few borders in portland (none in little rock, ar, to no surprise) that have a copy. so if you have border stores in your area, or somewhere around near your area, call them, or see if they can get one in from another store kinda thing. definitely worth having. over on the velvet, as pocket can assure you, there is no word given on whether or not that edition will ever be put back into print.
kjt. i do recommend getting the hard back collection of the trilogy. it's really quite inexpensive and well worth the read. the kind of collection that stays with you long after the initial read because it leaves questions and dizziness. kiss me, judas is a great novel, and they just get better
welcome (again) to the cult

i take some of that back, and then give it again
the trilogy is not available new because it appears kiss me, judas (MA/C june 2006 edition) is out of print as well, but used editions are available on amazon starting at .29 on the dollar
as for the soft covers, the new editions, they are just as much as the hard covers and the soft cover of hells half, as pocket mentioned, cleaves off the last of the story and the epilogue (some of the best fiction narrative ive come across, that epilogue was right on perfect!) so definitely dont get that edition

thanks.
well, if you get one and you dont like it, im sure people around here (or over at the fold) will gladly gift you $30 for it, no worries
