Fresh Meat for the Culties
Brand new to the cult and very excited to learn more about the site and the people that make it. I have been a Chuck fan for years, a lurker most of the time to the site, but always a fan. I wrote to Chuck and got a great letter back. The first book I read by him was Survivor, without even being a fan to Fight Club... oddly enough I found out he is a tried and true Bradbury fan, and I knew from then on it was meant to be. I feel welcome already. -Lori

Hello and Welcome
What other authors do you like?
What do you wear on your feet?
Cat or Dog person?
Damn I need coffee!
Enjoy Your Stay.
How come everyone (or is it just you) always asks that feet and cat/dog question?
Hey Lori, I'm also into Bradbury's work (mostly the short stories.)
How is it at SDSU? I'm considering going to graduate school in California.

The cat/dog is just me. The feet thing is to do with the whole flip flop debate that went on a while ago.
I see. What was the result of said flip-flop debate?

I lost track of it. I know some people have a phobia about their feet but I think it was one of those debats without a final outcome.
SDSU is great, slightly crowded. We will see how classes turn out this semester. But there are also other great school is San Diego, UCSD, and USD. And Point Loma Nazarene... My other favorite authors are Jostein Gaarder author of Sophie's World, Philip Pullman (His Dark Materials).. and Kahlil Gibran ( The Prophet).. of course many more, but those are some of my top picks for books. Ray Bradbury on the other hand is such a genuis, I actually met him a few years back in Bakersfield, CA. He told some great stories, and I told him that he was my "person I'd like to meet dead or alive" for the longest time.. the Martian Chronicles is amazing, along with his 40 or so other works, short stories included. I am just sad he probably won't be around too much longer.

Hi, Lori. You'll be expected to tell us much more than your footwear preference. And be careful when you pick sides on the cat/dog debate.
Welcome.
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.

The flops won.
The flops won.
When did that happen?
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
it happened in a very hush-hush basement deathmatch. We had to get in there duke it out and get out in 10 minutes so the cockfighters could get back to business, so it wasn't a very spectacular deathmatch.
ok, so which part is the flip and which the flop - or are flip and flop synonymous?
i wear flip flops, a lot i wear them a lot.
I would say the thing that goes between the toes would be the flip, because you can kind of just flip them on. and the hell portion is the flop because it does all the flopping around.

Welcome kind sir. You are entering a kingdom of mischief and mayhem, where insults are rampant but many friends are to be made. Enjoy your stay.
