Feeling new? Start here!
Thanks goes, once again, to Will Tupper for suggesting this idea - a forum where newbies can post until they get comfortable and familiar with the terrain of this board.
Sometimes it's overwhelming trying to blend in and begin discussion with all the regulars around here. So if you feel like maybe you'd like to start small first, maybe explain how you got into Chuck and see if you share things in common with other members.... this is the place to do it.

What's up everyone? I'd also like to suggest to all of our new friends here in Cult Land that you post in here about whatever you want: like music, other authors, or just give us a brief history of who you are.
Because we love you. Or at least I do. But you'll figure that out if you stick around long enough. And much thanks to Dennis for running w/ my lil suggestion. Hope it works out well.
excellent idea boys.

What a shame. and a Sham even. Anywho just thought I would say hello
Hey Rob,
So glad of you to join us. To everyone else reading this, Rob (Blitz) is actually some dude at Microsoft who coached me through my upgrade. We got to know each other during the hours long phone call and it turned out he was a big book person. So I recommended our site and now here he is.
How cool is that???

We'd like to, once again, welcome you, and hope your stay here is a good one.

We're always having debates upon whether or not he reads the forums, or if he is, in fact, one of us. There's at least one thread devoted to the topic. Remember it?!! That was a good thread.
There is hope, but not for us.

I got this site from someone over at www.renderosity.com
who had done some CG art/propaganda featuring the address for this site.
Thought I'd start here (being a new member and all),
I was going to post something last night when I signed up but my computer at home is so fucking slow I got pissed off and gave up (Kazza murders 52k modems).
The first Chuck book I read was "Survivor" (his only book my local library stocks) which I read early last year, and it totally blew my mind. I've now read all of his books (except the travel one) and havent been able to read another author since.
I'm currently working in a call center trying to earn enough money to either go to film school or independantly produce a movie (bypassing school, learning what I need to know as I do it)
I've played guitar since I was 15, Im relearning the keyboard and learning to play the mandolin.
Im also starting to get into 3d animation and computer art.
Some of my Favorite movies:
- Fight Club
- Donnie Darko
- Requeim for a Dream (and Pi)
- Final Flight of the Osiris
- Desperado
- The Tarantino trilogy
- The Legend of Drunken Master
- Mulholland drive, Lost Highway and Blue Velvet
- Charlie and Chocolate Factory
- Labrynth
Some Favorite Albums:
- Tool - Aenima & Lateralus,
- Pixies - Surfa Rosa, Come on Pilgrim & Doolittle,
- Pearl Jam - All albums,
- Massive Attack - Mezzanine,
- NIN - Fragile & Downward spiral,

- Datsuns - The Datsuns,
- Shihad - Shihad, Churn & General Electric,
- Sound Garden - Bad Motor Finger,
- The Smiths - Queen is dead
Oh yeah,
Has anybody noticed that the clock on this site is 50mins slow???

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

Hi I'm new here and I'm ready to testify! I happend to see Fight Club on video some time ago. I had no idea what kind of movie it was, but when it was over I had already put in my top 5 list. A great movie! Now I'm reading Survivor and I like it. In fact I have convinced my local public library to get the book. I hope other people will read it too.
i've been a chuck fan since right after fight club the film came out... after that i bought and read every book within a month.. i'm a long time reader.. first time poster

hi people i saw fight club maybe two years ago, and that´s the best movie i ever saw, it suprised me well, then i read the book.
the major ideas in fight club were my ideas like " a man is not the shoes he wears" " everibody want´s to be a rock star" . now i am interested in reading the other books of chuck but i am from portugal and they are not available , please send me all information you can about chuck´s book´s ( tyler.durden@mail.pt )
What information are you looking for? There is a section for each one of his books on this site. Go to the main index. If you are trying to find the books to purchase, I suggest www.abebooks.com. Most of the booksellers on that site ship worldwide. The books are used and mostly collectibles but you can find reading copies there as well.
Also try www.strandbooks.com. Its a N.Y. bookstore that also will ship anywhere.
You can create a wish list at both sites & will get am email notification when the book becomes available.
Being a newbie is.... great? I'll get the hang of it. Whatever. But it's good to know that there are other sad, pathetic youngins like myself.
Mother Superior: "Would sir care for a starter? Some garlic bread perhaps?"
Renton: "No, thank you. I'll proceed directly to the intravenous injection of hard drugs, please."
There's just never enough room for all the quotes that seem necessary.

whoa... there are alarms here? Excellent!

I have yet to read anything better than fight club. I saw the film first, then I checked the book out from the library. After that I bought it. Since then I've read it four more times. I told my cousin to see the movie and he actually did. After he watched it he quit his factory job and ditched his asshole room mate. I feel almost proud.
I've also read survivor, invisible monsters, choke and rant. Out of those I liked choke the best.
I can't wait until snuff comes out. the reading that's on youtube is great.
pygmy sounds really differrent, but good.
I'll stop talking now.

I know I'm like old news around here, but I just wanted to post in this thread anyway. Just to feel special and all.
Hello to new people. We love you all!
