Compulsory Newbie Thread
Hello.
I'm Emilie, I'm.. new, obviously.
I got into Chuck because my friend's brother was moving house, so we (me and said friend) were allowed to go through all his books and borrow any we liked the look of, since he had so many by Palahniuk I took a couple and have been hooked ever since, so to speak.
Anyway, I'm really cool, honest.

hello and welcome
I would say more but I have an over firendly cat on my lap.
Welcome! I hope you enjoy your time. - Brianne
hey, Emilie.. welcome to the cult. what of the chuck book library have you read. i mean, what have you picked reading musts. have you read hempel, clevenger, or baer ?
welcome to the forum, the workshop, the bookclub. dont ever feel strange resurrecting old threads of your favorite book reads cause chances are that if you find a favorite book thread, then you will find that there are so many new members whove never seen that thread and would love to discuss that particular work.
welcome to the cult and have fun ..

indeed you are... pop round for a cuppa tea sometime.
Hello, hello, thankyou.
YESS! Will Chrisopher Baer is definately one of my favourites, I'm still eagerly awaiting Godspeed, which I'm sure was due out last year but has never quite materialised unfortunatly. I enjoyed 'The Contortionists Handbook' by Clevenger too, so much so that I recently bought it for the boy I'm seeing (I got him into Baer and Palahnuik too!!). I'm also a big Coupland fan and other than that I'm mostly dotting around in various different genres and authors.
Who's this Hempel of which you speak? I've searched the name on Amazon but there appear to be a few Hempel related books on there which is somewhat confusing.
And a special hello to my neighbors ^.^
go read denis johnson. he'll change your life just as much as chuck did.
and welcome.

Yay, book recommendations.
I'll check Dermaphoria out.. For some reason I was under the impression he'd just written the one book, maybe because The Contortionists Handbook was specifically recommended to me I just searched for that. Whatever, I'm looking for something new to read anyway, thankyou

Welcome, Emilie. Love the Bettie Page avatar.
