Can I be one of the cool kids too?
Hello all!
As you can see, I'm new to The Cult. I've been a frequent lurker, never a member, on this site for quite a while. With my renewed obsession with Chuck, minimalism and writing for NaNoWriMo, I was inspired to join here. I will join the Writer's Workshop soon.
What can I say about myself? I'm not a fan of religion or people who use it to justify hate filled actions. I admire people who are true to themselves. I am terribly competitive. I dream too big. I am not one with the earth though I do try. I have only truly hated one thing in my life, The New York Yankees.
Just wanted to say "Hi!" briefly. I look forward to seeing some of you around.

Steer clear of Tom with your anti-Yankee sentiment.
And there are no cool kids here, so yes, you can be one, and you'll be all alone.
Welcome, melkorsbane! What an odd username!
What are you holding up in your avatar? I can't tell.
Haha, thanks, Imke. It's from Tolkien-verse.
I'm holding up a copy of "Fucking Daphne" by Daphne Gottlieb. A delicious collection of short stories revolving around, you guessed it, fucking Daphne.

Ah, my friend. What a broad question! It's difficult for me to answer because I, quite literally, listen to every type of music there is. Though, if I had to highlight a favorite genre, I'd probably choose metal and heavy alternative. Some IDM maybe.

Right right riiiiight. I remember "Melkor" as a username on a Lord of the Rings forum.
Hah! Is it really just stories about sex? In a porn way?
og eg kan vel ikkje berre vere ingen stad heller -
and I can't just be nowhere either
In the forward, she talks about how she found all these stories online where people were having sex with her. They're graphic to some extent, but it's not a pornographic anthology. The sex is always a part of the story. She chose those that she liked the most and after some slight editing, had them published.

So she didn't even write the book?
Not that particular book, no.

Tsk... Fuckin' Daphne...
THIS IS THE HAPPIEST TALE EVER TOLD EVER.
Two blondes walked into a train track. Between the two of them, you'd think they'd--
well, she does have a short in there. under a pseudonym. delphine gothleab and she did write the introduction and was the editor, so i guess she deserves the by-line.
it's an alright book. i thought i'd like it a lo more tha i did. i guess i just didn't like most of the writers. some of the stories felt like crappy essays. it was okay though. i don't want to rag to hard on it. i guess, i was expecting it to delve a bit more into the whole blurring the lines between fiction and reality. and i love that concept.
welcome. brace yourself. and never, ever, threaten rape on anything, ever.

Coming in a bit late, but welcome to The Cult and Workshop.

Threatening rape isn't okay? Really? I'm not sure if this is the place for me, then!
Haha, I kid. I would never threaten rape onto anyone except for my sister. I'm happy to see all the welcoming messages. Thanks a lot. And with Fucking Daphne, the stories did vary in quality. Some of them left me wanting to see more from the characters they talked about, and some others, I was glad for them to be over.
