Assuming the Position
Hello, everyone.
I am a writer and member of the bizarro fiction community, and Palahniuk was one of the authors who inspired me to look into fiction that was off the beaten path. I owe that to Snuff.
Out of the Palahniuk books I have read, my favorite thus far is Haunted. One of the best short story collections I have read, even though if all of those stories tie together to make a novel.
Hit me with some weird questions, mmkay?
1) Nope
2) Tapatio
3) Right
4) I know an evil lobster named LobsterBaby McGee:

He's going to be making an appearance in Troy Chambers' upcoming debut book, Seven Seagulls for a Single Nipple.
They otherwise seem to be neutral.
so which position are you assuming?
^5 for Haunted!
Do you agree with Max Weber and Franz Oppenheimer that the state is a geographic monopoly on violence?
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
audreythirteen: Executive missionary commission position.
Imke: Damn straight!
Giggan: It may not be a complete monopoly, but it sure loves to be on top of the violence market.
haunted is imke's favorite
cholula is my personal favorite, but tapatio is a very close second.
welcome to the cult !!

Sooo...you're a highly positioned, boring prostitute?
Also I like Tabasco and Tapatio but Sriracha is awesome
God himself uses Sriracha.
As your attorney, my advise to you is to start drinking heavily(er).-Tuffy
even the shittiest meal tastes great with sriracha
Frank's (Red Hot) is awesome--but I think it's a western NY thing.
I really like Frank's (Red Hot) My room mate was addicted to the stuff and would buy a giant bottle of the stuff to have in the house. She would eat it on everything you could put hot sauce on. For some reason I remember her putting it on popcorn mostly though.
Frank's is dull and lifeless.
Tuffy the Dump Truck may rarely increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The risk may be greater if you have heart disease or increased risk for heart disease (for example, due to smoking, family history of heart disease, or conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes), or with longer use. Tuffy should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery. Also, Tuffy may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. This effect can occur without warning symptoms at any time while taking Tuffy. Older adults may be at higher risk for this effect. (See also Precautions and Drug Interactions sections.) Stop taking Tuffy and get medical help right away if you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects: bloody or black/tarry stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, chest/jaw/left arm pain, shortness of breath, unusual sweating, weakness on one side of the body, sudden vision changes, slurred speech. Ask your doctor if Tuffy is right for you.
Mena gave me a bottle of this in a gift exchange and sometimes I think it may be the best thing that ever happened to me.

and welcome
What's up, guy?
Haunted would have been one of the greatest story collections ever, but it makes a lousy novel. Great concept though. Too bad every story was written in the exact same voice, making it unbelievable that they were written by the characters from the framing device novella (which didn't match the stories in quality). I wish Palahniuk would have served as an editor, written a much better framing device novella, and had other authors write the stories. But I'm guessing he originally gave the publisher a story collection, they were like, "Story collections sell like shit. Turn this into a novel," and then he came up with an awesome concept and turned a great collection into a bad novel.
I think there may be some real life precedent to the narrative voice of their stories sounding the same to each other. With the writing groups I have been in before, a lot (but not all) of them ended-up having similar writing styles.
How an entire group of writers would manage to sound like Chuck, on the other hand...
I haven't had that experience in my MFA classes but...as far as the book, I recall it being a writer's retreat rather than a group, so their writing wouldn't have sounded the same unless they had had many meeting where they read and critiqued each other's work. Instead, they isolated themselves in the theatre to write and perhaps they shared their stories with each other when they were finished.

Would you ever share someone's toothbrush?
What is your favorite hot sauce?
Left or Right handed?
Lobsters, good or bad?
