hi all, i just joined today, so glad i found out about the cult. i am a total bum, kind of a hater, and a barely published author 
. reading chuck's books made me remember the joy i found in writing, which i had forgotten as i got older. the first palahniuk book i read was lullaby, i got it at a library fire sale for a buck. it was swollen up, smelled like smoke, and i loved it. looking forward to a long membership.

Well, if you're serious about your writing, or want to get serious about it, then there's no reason not to.
$40 is a small price to pay for a year and we could always use new blood.
Kabol will probably jump in here and give you the official pitch, but in my personal experience, this is one of the best workshops running today. There's no way you won't improve if you actively participate.

welcome to the cult. sorry; dont really have a pitch. i mean, i love the workshop, it is where i started writing, but i started culting for booktalk. it just advanced me into writing after chuck got me into reading and i read his first essay on writing. it was non stop from there.
the cult is in three equal parts: the news section, the forums, and workshop. the workshop is where writing and feedback is the most important element; the forums is for play and meeting some very cool people; the news section is to learn what's going on with chuck [and other contemporary authors].
yeah, that pretty much breaks it down. i, though, want to know more about the following sentence:

I'm a real nice guy, loyal to his family and friends, like to help old people and I play well with children, but there is a very dark side to the moon. hard to say. i think doolittle and surfer rosa are two of the best albums ever made, so it's hard to pick a favorite. maybe "where is my mind" or "something against you" or " crackity jones" or "broken face"... too many to name, i guess lol.
