And then there was me!
Obviously new round here...after wandering my way through the site, I'm excited to jump in to some awesome conversations...
What would marie antoinette say?
I know!
I've been really wanting to know.... BSAofR?
BSAofR is from a play...best supporting actress of "Ruthless"....the best supporting actress part is from something I wrote...
And you were the best supporting actress?
Hello and Welcome
I guess its time to retire the Cujo question.
Is your name Ann?
Are you from Moscow?
Enjoy your stay.
No, not Anne, not from moscow...thank you for the welcome. Cujo question???
And no, I wasn't the BSA...it was a line from something..."always finding myself to be the best supporting actress in someone else's play..."
Ok then once more
What other authors do you like?
Is Cujo a good name for a cat?
You know what? I like that.
And if you're not an ann what in the world are you?
Folynn. pronounced fallon...I don't know what the parentals were thinking...
Other authors... Wilde, AM Homes, Czuchlewski, Dickens (cliche!!!), Hodges, Hemingway, Hawke, Foucalt, Kant...a bazillion others, too many to list...
Cujo works, I suppose. My cat's name is Mr. Lionel Beauregard Jenkins Kitty, Esq.
Latest authorly craze would be Nabokov.
Hey. Welcome. Enjoy the cult. You seem nice.
Ha! At least I seem nice...lol
Latest authorly craze would be Nabokov.
Ive only read Lolita but I loved it. What else should I read by him?
Yeah and I like you already aswell.
His book Ada is a must read...and he also wrote a collection of essays on russian writers, his pieces on Dostevosky and Tolstoy are fantastic....
If you liked Lolita, try reading The End of Alice, by A. M. Homes. Graphic and revolting, but it's a page turner...quite along the same topic of Lolita, although infinitely more engaging.

I own the End of Alice but havent read it yet so thanks for the recomendation.
You'll like it, I think. It's one of those books that you're almost appalled to admit you like...
Try also Nude men, by Amanda Filipacchi...
i have two puppies. a boy, a girl. king "louie" XIV and anna karenina
we're getting a kitten soon, to be named simply "zee"
i loved nobakov's writing, his prose is fucking beautiful, but i've only read lolita and a pocket companion, also a slim book of shorts while visiting a friend amany years past. i very much look forward to ada. i'll pick it up after my current reading sched relents a bit.
some current reads to hit this place with fascinating grace [in the past two years] :
the road by cormac mccarthy
steven hall's the raw shark text
hopefully others will chime in soon because it's late and i'm not thinking quite clearly enough to further that list, but if your looking to discuss either, you will find them among other the others-countless discussed in the book club forum
some cult favorites:
craig clevenger's two novels (he's currently instructing a writing intensive here)
will christopher baer's phineas poe trilogy
a lot of us love a lot of this chuck guy's work
house of leaves
monica drake's clown girl
pretty much anything by vonnegut
and you'll pick up a strong and lengthy list of the rest in short order of forum treading, i'm sure
ultimately, welcome to the cult and have fun and always feel free to use this thread if you find future questions, or just start new threads. that sort of thing. don't stay away from derek cause he's a sweetheart of a guy. regardless of what they say..

Cujo works, I suppose. My cat's name is Mr. Lionel Beauregard Jenkins Kitty, Esq.
You realize of course, that giving a cat a name like that dooms you to live alone in 20 years surrounded by 60 mewling faces with equally precious names as they whine for food when you tap that can opener...

Not so much...the only criteria I fit for being a cat lady is that I have a cat, and occasionally, I act like a lady... But that's about it.
