And I guess mine comes next...
After reading through a few of the hello's, I thought I would join in the fun as well.
I stumbled across here after googling some new book recommendations. I am in the search of something to read, and I quite enjoy Palahniuk (one of my favourites actually) so I searched books in the same style...and well long story short, here I am.
I'm not a writer, just a reader. I love discussing books with friends, but a lot of my friends don't read. (Sad, I know). So when I saw this forum I thought why not give it a try.

“...There are so many ways of being despicable it quite makes one's head spin. But the way to be really despicable is to be contemptuous of other people's pain. You ought to have some apprehension that the man you see before you was once even younger than you are now and arrived at his present wretchedness by imperceptible degrees.”
-James Baldwin

I was told there would be ponies.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I used to have a pony. One of those miniature horse things that never gets big. We gave her too much pasture, though. She got a condition called foundering. Apparently, it happens when a horse gets so fat that it's leg tendons won't support the pressure of it's own bones and the tendons start to weaken and fray. The horse stops being able to really walk around much. Who knew?
I don't have that pony anymore.
Oh, and howdy, Boxy. Welcome to the party.
Get on over to my website, young'un! www.subvertfromwithinrecords.blogspot.com

I still haven't found a Petite Lap Giraffe.
I feel more like I do now than I did before.
A Petite Lap Salmon would be neat.

Kinda Floppy though.

That's where the action is!

Okay, I really thought this was going to be a cute and quirky little story about a pony you had but it didn't turn out that way at all. It was depressing. Not cool, man. Not cool at all.
Welcome, Mandy!!

I know, right?
Hi, Mandy!
This is why we can't have nice things.
Thanks guys for all the hi's and welcomes!
tourist_information: My favourite sammich (and by which I think you mean sandwich) is Smoked Salmon (or Lox). Lots of capers.
I am definatley going to try and get my hands of a copy of We Are Oblivion. I was going to head down to the bookstore tomorrow actually.
Thank you for taking the sammich query seriously.
Your input is appreciated (:

hello and welcome (:
in detail, what's your favorite kind of sammich?
