I saw potential in their debut but I knew Corgan wouldn't be able to hold a band together for more than a year.

Ha.

I didn't like them too much anyway.....hopefully, if we're lucky, the Pumpkins will get back together, then this zwan breakup will be all the sweeter.

iha would have to be removed from a perfect circle first, which would be sadness.

ah, whatever, that would definitely be worth it for more punkins!

I think Billy Corgan is headed for a side project after this which may or may not be good. I still think Chamberlain's drumming had a lot to do with the infectiousness(?) of Corgan's guitar playing.

WHO doesn't like Gish!? you fucking heathen! Wink ;)
ah well, i can't understand that, but that's cool... i suppose....
man i love Gish, i still listen to it as much as Adore.
actually, you're not by far the only person who doesn't like Gish. most people who like Gish don't enjoy Adore and Machina as much, and vice versa.

With any luck, Mr Corrigan will now die in a flaming automobile crash. Smashing Pumpkins? Didn't get the hype. Zwan? Didn't get it ten years later.

Flame on.

Haven't you seen the Simpsons episode with the Pumpkins? It explains much, old man.

Hehe. How true! I LOVE Adore and Machine, so I obviously don't like Gish... it's interesting how true that was(I obviously don't interact with many SP fans).

I love Smashing Pumpkins. I bought the Zwan album out of curiousity- was a little disapointed, pretty mediocre. Jimmy Chamberlain is decent, I just HATE Billy.

I was going to go see Zwan around October too... gah.

I didn't like Zwan at first. I gave them another chance and got hooked on their songs and started listening to it at work a lot. I can see why people wouldn't like it though. It's kind of tree-huggish and Billy's voice can be ultra whiny at times, but the drums on this album are really really good. I love the augmented tuning of the guitars and the high resonance of the drum fills.

I was looking forward to more of their stuff. Sad

Heh, I remember that Simpsons' episode. I think that comment solidified that era of music.

Zwan's album felt a little too Siamese Dream for me. But...without the edge that made Siamese Dream a commercial success. Oh, and without an emergent grunge rock revolution happening concurrently.

I'm a big fan of Jimmy Chamberlain who was a huge inspiration on my playing and I was happy to hear he was in Zwan when they first arose. But as of now I wish Billy would cut the pop crap and get back to rocking my face off like the Pumpkins used to. I thought he liked kicking ass.
