Your "Ultimate" Collaboration?
No more than five individuals.
Mine would be Thom Yorke, DJ Shadow, Trent Reznor, RZA and Clint Mansell.
How fucking awesome would that be.
I mean, Thom and Trent on vocals, Trent and Shadow on music (instrumental and digital production and reproduction of said instruments, respectively), Mansell on writing and strings arrangement, and RZA as executive producer, with Shadow, Mansell, and Trent co-producing.
I mean, it would work perfectly.

Ah yes, the organic approach to songwriting.
I'd go for Trent Reznor, David Bowie and me. My job would be to keep on poking them until they did another song as good as I'm Afraid of Americans.
Bah.
weird dudes.
Have Michael Penn and Aimee Mann worked together on anything? That would be cute.
andy
I never noticed that orange jews lives in lansing.
this thread is some freaky shit.
Also, Maynard James Keenan (lyrics and vocals) with Rob Zombie (music and possibly some backing vocals) might be interesting.
Bah.
scary dudes.
Dude. XChuck. How the fuck could you replace Maynard with Thom!? I mean, as much as Thom rules, and as much as Maynard rules, they each belong in their own bands! You can't put Thom with Tool. It just wouldn't make musical sense. We know you love Thom a lot and Trent a lot. But you've got to think with your head here and not with your cock.
Haha, you idiot. I never said anything about putting Thom with Tool. All of the Tool members would be out of the band. Thom would replace Maynard, and Trent would replace the guitarist.
Shit. My bad. I thought you wrote Tool, and it actually said A Perfect Circle. I was wrong. THIS time. And don't call me an idiot.
You know I don't mean it when I call you an idiot. For a moment, you were an idiot, but now you are back with me and being a pretentious fuck.
Right-O.

I like some of Aimee Mann's stuff.
Wise Up and Save Me are pretty good songs. And that song that opens up Magnolia. "Oneeeee is the loneeeeliest number that I ever haddd. Twoooo...."
It's called One. All three of those are good.

Les Claypool
hahaha!
Whos Les Claypool????
My dream band would be an epic combination of God Speed and Tool. (No members excluded)
Since Trent cant play guitar or sing, he would be forced to produce the other two bands. (and maybe play little piano outtros)
Les Claypool is one of the best basists out there.
He's the driving force for Primus, he is. And a sexy good mainstream bassist (Ain't got nothing on Mr. Wooten, though)
Mine would be...
Beck and Thom Yorke for one,
Tom Morello and Dave Grohl (Grohl on Drums/Vocals. Think, Queens of the Stone Age, but not as loose)
Also, if we're talking alive or dead, put Kurt Cobain on Vocals.
It might or might not work, sure, but if it did, man that would be some crizzizle shiznit.
Primus sucks ass, and lots of it. Why the fuck is Les Claypool still in that peice of shit band?
It is where he got his start, so he may not want to leave it behind (and thus leave the other guys without careers, since they'd be nowhere without Mr. Claypool)
And also, hasn't he done an inordinate amount of side projects?
I thought he did like, a solo thing, and then the Frog Brigade thing, and I'd swear there was another one... I think he has been pretty busy.
He did the solo thing, but I think he needs to do what Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlen did, and the guitar tech from Tool and NIN did. Start an all-star band(bands with just famous people from other bands in them). Billy and Jimmy started Zwan, and the guitar tech started A Perfect Circle. Les could easly start an all-star band.
P.S. I think Tomahawk(sp) did the same thing. The brother of the drummer for The Melvins is my dad's best friend, and he mixes for Tomahawk when they are on tour. Or, he at least did.
Muddy Waters and Randy Newman

Using a picture to insult someone. Clever.
Bah.
Well thank God you aren't a musical snob who thrusts his personal interests onto other people every chance he gets...
I mean really.
Cause that would be just fucking annoying.

I'm a gimmick.
Survivor directed by David Fincher, starring Edward Norton, somehow involving Brad Pitt, score by Michael Trent Reznor.
*gets shivers just thinking about it*

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
Hahahah! My dad hangs out with Mike Patton sometimes. Hahaha. It's strange.
Someone a while back posted:
"Tom Petty and Bob Dylan"
Have you ever heard of the Traveling Wilburys? Already done.
And that band is the ulitmate band for me, if I could possibly make one subsitute.
Instead of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, and Jeff Lynne add Bruce Springsteen for Lynne and call it a day.

Basicly A Perfect Circle except replace the guitarist(not James Iha, the other one) and the singer with Trent Reznor and Thom Yorke. (Thom would sing.)
