Your guilty pop pleasures.
I mostly hate music out of the modern pop industry, but I admit it- I have a hanson album from my pre-teens. My teenage sister's friends would come into my room and be impressed by my Nirvana albums, but then would lose all respect when they saw the hanson album.
Also, I admit to dancing around to the following songs:
Gary Glitter-Rock n Roll part 2 *
Survivor (Rocky III theme)-Eye of the tiger
Carly Simon-You're So Vain
Michael Jackson-every song, especially Billy Jean, or Black or White
The Final Countdown....(list goes on)
*About that. I feel incredibly bad. The guy's an utterly hideous creature that molests young children. I feel like I should have been one of those kids...somehow.Cringe.
Now confess you bastards...
I'm a big fan of Michael Jackson's mid-80's stuff, though I wouldn't say it plays a predominant role in my music selection. It's good stuff though. And another band I'm not sure was so much of a pop sensation, but I listen to the Steve Miller Band and realize how awful some of their stuff is, but at the same time realize how much I love it. I blame my mother.
i forgot to add that i promise there will be no mariah on any mixtape i make for the exchange.
let's take a look thru my mp3s.
50 Cent
Afro Man
Alien Ant Farm
Baha Men
Ben Kweller
Better Than Ezra
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Blink-182
Bloodhound Gang
Blues Traveler

OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD (except for the fact that there is no god) HOW THE HELL CAN YOU LISTEN TO THAT SHIT (no offense i just thinks most of it is untalented music)
"Animal"
"Photograph"
"Here I Am-Rock You Like A Hurricane"
"Jump Around"
"Lose Yourself"
Wow...I really am going to hell.
andy
and...
"Danger Danger High Voltage" (but I imagine Stewie from Family Guy performing it)
andy
hey, that song rocks!
i mean, dont you wanna know why they keep starting fires?
word has it, its their desire. and mine.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
Now, if someone would just record a song about ejaculating on the steering wheel while rolling in your car...
word on the street is...
andy
...that reminds me:
"You Wreck Me" Tom Petty
with our without the Heartbreakers?

i'm addicted to american idol.
i was at a taping of it last week.
i win the prize for most embarrassing admission.
debacle is a verb
you do...i was going to admit that but i was too scared...
i think we've talked in code about this before.
I'd like to modify my statement from earlier. All of the Steve Miller Band is not awful, but there are some songs that are horrible that I still love. For example, "Macho City." Just listen and you'll see what I mean.
There's nothing wrong with the Danger Danger High Voltage track. Electric 6 rock!

Rock Me Amadeus- Falco
Roll into a gas station in summer blasting that last one and see what kind of looks you get.
Never get so attached to a poem you forget truth that lacks lyricism.
i've DONE that!
*rolling into a gas station blaring Falco*
well, okay, my boyfriend (at the time) was the one driving, but still!
we ended up changing the tape to Taco.
debacle is a verb
I once rolled into a biker bar type parking lot while I was changing CDs and the radio was coming through and it was WHAM! with "Wake Me up Before You Go-Go."
I got out of the car and have never seen s many angry overweight people in leather.

I think maybe I can beat that since at least you've got strength in numbers.
The only TV I ever watched for the five years between 1997 and 2002 was an addiction to Ally McBeal.
Maybe I should add that I am a twenty something male with full sleeve tattoos. Needless to say I watched this in private and never mentioned it to friends.
I also lost my job about a month ago and due to almost complete insomnia have developed a new addiction which is again the only TV I watch. Between three and five AM. Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
If anyone knows any ways around that Brady Bill thing, I'd like to hear them. I need a gun badly. I don't want to wait five days and I'm really embarrassed now.
**edited ten hours later: I'm amazed no one's openly showed their disgust of this shameful admission. Or is it so shameful that no one even wants to go near it?

I don't know about the 80's pop music...I wasn't all that into paying attention to stuff when I was that age like that. I had no idea what was considered popular. Even though I'm sure I still like a few songs that would be pop 80's.
But now, Christina Aguilera has to be the one I sort of like. She has a really good voice, Dave Navarro on a song is good enough for me. Dirrty is just annoying though...the "trying too hard" thing really got to me on that one.
A HA, Touchy. For all you out there with a life, it kind of went, "Me, I'm touchy...Touchy, touchy you." Christ on a stick! How sad am I?
My other Room 101 tune was Jane Wedlin, Rush Hour. But I still think that's kinda cool.

Another guilty pop pleasure of mine. Righteous Brothers, Unchained Melody.
hee!
clay sang that on ai last night!
okay, i'm shutting up now....
debacle is a verb
i have to admit it....
not a big clay fan...
sorry, i'm like the only one out of millions, and i know he will win it, but still...i like his voice, just not the way he sings...
okay...no more american idol...we are about to be killed...i can feel it.
have you ever noticed that clay rhymes with gay?? could his parents have known from birth??
sorry ladies, he's too...SHOW CHOIR for me.
anything from bobby darin, specially dream lover.
I´m not really "guilty" about this but: Scarface/ GTA: Vice City esque "loving-you-so-much-its fucking-nauseating" popballad shit.

I wouldn't feel bad about this if I were you. Both of these shows, for the first 2-4 years, were quite good if you followed them (as I did, although I am an 18 year old chick, not a 20something tattooed guy) were quite good.
But seriously: for 2 years or so, Ally McBeal was the most innovative thing on television. It just started to go downhill when they focused too much on chick bullshit and her relationship with Billy than the actual law stuff and the other characters. Stupid writers. Always mess things up.
There is hope, but not for us.
Oh yeah, mine: Fucking 'Blinding Me With Science,' man. Best 80's song EVER!
Also I really did like Christina A. when she first came out, especially when she covered Etta James' 'At Last' on SNL. I mean, she's a really good singer. But she's trying too hard, not a good image anymore, blah blah blah (Will already kind of called me down on this before so I won't go on).
And last but not least: I have every single Beatles song on mp3, and about half of them again on album and CD.
There is hope, but not for us.
Hmm. I don't know if I can beat anyone flat out, but I DO have Flock Of Seagulls - I ran, Prince - Gett off, and Cardigans - Love Fool on my playlist.
Also, Winnie the Pooh - Little Black Rain Cloud.
And I give no apologies.

Paralyzed, by the Cardigans, is a fucking awesome song.

i heard some song on JAM'N (if you're from anywhere near boston you know what i'm talking about) that had some reggae guy on it yelling "MOVE YOUR BODY LIKE A SNAKE." i can't stop yelling it.
has anyone else heard the "SoBe Spokesman" guy? he cracks me up.
