Your Favourtie Movies Part II: The Bad Guys You Cant Help But Love
k, i've decided to start another movie thread, because i just love movies so much.
this thread is dedicated to the psychopaths who are on a "noble" mission, wether it be noble to you or its noble to them it just doesnt really matter. this is the thread dedicated to the bad guys you cant just help feel sorry for or want to win in the end. so here goes.
Requiem for a Dream: k, these kids were'nt really "psychos" or "bad guys" at heart, but they did sel drugs for a profit at the eventual expense of others (sooner or later osmeone who did their drugs would OD), they did help with the "drug" scene of Coney Island, and they did it for a profit.
Falling Down: the classic example of the bad guy you want to win. i think this is one of Douglas's best movies. you cant help but feel sorry for this guy and just want him to get home to his daughter. and who didnt love the "gang turf" scene when he was orderred to leave and took on these gangsters on his own, and who didnt love the mcdonalds scene too?
American History X: once again a case where the two main characters aren't bad guys at heart, but did help with the negativity of the situation and area. theres not much to say about this film except that it will make even the most pesimistic person believe in second chances, and will make them think twice about their actions and reactions. go see this movie now.
Taxi Driver: this isn't one of my favourties but a great example of a guy at his ends, going n a vigilante justice pring, who in turn portrays himself as the bad guy or psychopath. a prettty good watch.
and thats all i can think of for now, im sure i'll come up with more
i was debating wheter i should have mentionned him. i think its cause it was a given i didnt though
That's a good reason....
Would Jack Nicholison(sp) from One Flew Over The Cookoo's Nest be called a bad guy? I dunno. And I can't remember what his name was. R.P. McFlurry? No, that's way off....
not too sure never saw it, but i do know he was psycho in it, but not the kinda psycho that society doesnt want you to like
XCHUCK, that is the most OBNOXIOUS signature ever!!!
anyway. rhett butler. all time favorite bad guy.

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
yeah i know...please punish me? ha ha ha
"Lumbergh" (sp?) from "Office Space"
It does not get any creepier than Lumbergh from Office Space.
That is all.
the guy who burns the place down?
No no no! That's Milton!
He's a working-class hero! There's big grains of salt in his pina colada!
Lumbergh is Peter's boss! "Well, LUMBERGH FUCKED HER!" "Peter... yeah. Did you get that memo?"
He's the creepy boss guy.
Honorable mention: the two Bob's from Office Space.
I LIVE IN A TOWN NAMED MILTON! ah ha ha ha ha ha wholly coincidence batman
One of my favorite villains is Joaquin Phoenix's character in Gladiator. I loved to hate that guy and so did everyone in the theater. I haven't heard a crowd actually get vocal at a movie, but people mocked him during that one. It was great.
I also really like Agent Smith from The Matrix. A computer, yet so human. Loved it.
Ok, two more real quick, just cause they're so funny, Rainbow Randolph and Lord Big Helmet. Love those guys too.
The Peacemaker. Can't remember much of the film so it mustn't have been very good, but I do remember thinking "go on, nuke the fuckers" and being very disappointed when he didn't.
I'll second the Agent Smith nomination. Hell, anyone that pissed off has to be cool.
Christopher Lee....nuff said.
Bah.
5 words
"have you seen this boy?"
Dammit, yeah. How could I forget? And while we're not on the subject, stick in Max Zorin from a View to a Kill. Christopher Walken, oh yeah. Might as well say the headless horseman while I think of it.
Bah.
Franco Begbie from Trainspoting.
Michael Corleone from the Godfather (a romantasized bad guy)
Tommy from Goodfellas
Nicky from Casino
John Doe from Se7en
The Joker from Batman (gotta love Jack)
also Agent Smith
Suck me beautiful...
DUN DUN DUN DUN "Come with me if you want to live" BAH NA NA, NAH NAH, DUN DUN DUN DUN
chosenjuan, your the man for nominating the headless horseman
chosen, not arnold, Robert Patrick, the bad cop, so i was on topic.

John Doe from Se7en
Hot damn, how could I forget him. Awesome bad guy. I loved how fucked up he was. Talk about evil genius. Beautiful.
ha sanyone seen Falling Down? with michael douglas, that is the best example of the psycho you want to win out there. PERIOD.
Travis Bickle from 'Taxi Driver' -though more of an Anti-Hero than bad guy.
Tyler Durdern (well obviously!)
Harry Stadling from 'Christmas Evil' - though in retrospect it is a killer Santa movie it is way better than it sounds, reminds me of American Psycho and Taxi Driver with Anti-Consumerism...sort of.
Harvey Kitel in Bad Lieutenant
Any movie where Dennis Hopper or Christopher Walken play bad guys because they are just so weird and bizarre and they aren't acting either.
"Excuse me sir, Did you wash your hands after you took that big heaping dump. You know that sign, that sign says ALL employees MUST wash their hands after using the restroom, What part of that do you not understand?"- Malcom X
"Would you care to lick my sweaty baulz after they have been dipped in the finest venerial juices and sauteed in my own ass-sweat, madam?"- Winston Churchill
Dennis Hopper in Speed. Sandra Bullock should have ended up with him, and Keanu Reeves should have had his head chopped off by the subway light thing.
Billy Connelly in Boondock Saints. He kicks Irish ass!
The birds in The Birds
Darth Vadar (but not in the first movie, A New Hope)
There is hope, but not for us.
when i read, bad guys you cant help but love, i automatically thought of swingers;
"Trent: I don't want you to be the guy in the PG-13 movie everyone's *really* hoping makes it happen. I want you to be like the guy in the rated R movie, you know, the guy you're not sure whether or not you like yet. You're not sure where he's coming from. Okay? You're a bad man. You're a bad man. You're a bad man, bad man."
with a bit of luck, his life was ruined forever. always thinking that just behind some narrow door in all of his favorite bars, men in red woolen shirts are getting incredible kicks from things he'll never know.

I know, I know, I meant we weren't on the subject of Christopher Walken
Bah.

HOW COULD I POSSIBLY FORGET THIS ONE?!?!?!?!?!?
patrick bateman is a lot funnier in the movie than in the book.
also, hannibal lecter. one of the greatest characters ever created, bad, good, literary, cinematic, ever. he's an icon, and he's kickass.
the guy in falling down was coo...
my wee joaquin has played a number of lovely villains, also including his part in "the yards" which no one appears to have seen but me. alas...
frank begbie kicks some ass too.

did you see him in bless the child kitty? he was pretty good in that considerrin how fucking brutal the movie was
well orginally this was meant to be about sympathetic villains, ones you just feel sorry for and want to win. but i guess its turned into a favourite villain type thing, so here goes some more!
Otis form House of 1000 Corpses, soem of the stuff he said was dumb but he just jumped right into that character, i loved it.
Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you think of chainsaw you think of him, nuff said
if by bless the child you mean 8 mm, yes i did.
he wasn't in bless the child.

it was?! i thought 8 mm was about snuff porn killers, and bless the child is about religous cult satanic leaders
well, they're both dark movies that try to be Se7en and fail miserably.
joaquin was the only good thing about 8mm. i HATE nicolas cage. he is the anti-joaquin.

Fuck. Another one I totally forgot.
DUDE!!! More I forgot. Kathy Bates in Misery. That was a damn good movie. Well, according to my memory it is, but it's been a while. And the red head kid and his toadie from A Christmas Story. I forget their names cause my brain stopped functioning properly a few hours ago.

Fight Club: Tyler Durden. I think he's a givin.
