k well from the title you can guess what this thread is about, your favourite drama movie. or it can be your favourite drama movies. tell us why its your favourite or favourites too.

hands down by far my favourite drama movie is Reuiem for a Dream, beautiful cinamotagrophy and dialogue that the characters play off each other so well. and its ending is totally different from the "classic/average" ending, which is awesome

Once again, my main two votes:

Boondock Saints (like, duh)
Dances With Wolves

I am becoming predictable. I disgust myself. Smile

Boondock Saints is a drama? from what i heard (which is from what my friends have told me so i am probably wrong) it was more of a crime/gangster flick ya know? sorta like Snatch

Kinda~....it is also a very serious movie about faith and familial love. And a comedy, in a very weird sort of way. It's a lot of things. I love that fucking movie!

Yeah, I'm torn between Beauty & Requiem.. Just saw the latter a few minutes ago, and good lord, I'm in love with it. Been listening to the theme song non-stop since I finished watching it. Which was, btw, about 2 hours ago. That's a 2 minute song (or at least my version is) - so that's at least 60 times I've listened to it. Whee.

Edward Scissorhands is up there, too.

The Pianist.

It's the first, and only, drama that I have paid to see twice in theatres.
The movie is damn good, and the pianowork is sex, to boot.

Dances with Wolves was fuckin awesome. Went through hell to get the damn DVD.

I also like: Glory, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart. I'm a sucker for war movies.

Requiem for a dream. My diary layout is of disx's avatar.
I love the soundtrack, and everything about the movie, but thought the special features on the dvd were really boring.

Shawshank is up there with some of the greatest films ever made. The first time I saw it, I think I sat still and didn't move the entire time.

I've yet to see it. Heh.

I feel so deprived. So many films I've never seen before. This week, since I'm a cripple, I've been seeing a lot of the movies I've been told I should see.

Reservoir Dogs, Natural Born Killers, Empire Records, Rules of Attraction, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas and Requiem for a Dream... Just saw them all for the first time, heh.

Without mentioning the obvious:

Santa Sangre, El Topo, American Beauty, Happiness, Requiem, Donnie Darko, River's Edge, Brazil (Fantasy/Sci-Fi is probably a more relevant genre but it still felt like a drama),

----probably a bunch of others that aren't registering.

I hear that. If SPR is considered a drama rather than a war movie, it has my vote for favorite. Otherwise....

I have forsaken my precious Shawshank. If anyone hasn't read the novella, go do it now. Best thing Stephen King ever wrote.

i can tell you my LEAST favorite drama: that goddamned wild horses or whatever w/ matt damon and penelope cruz...the billy bong thorton movie. anyway, from what i understant, it was a 4 hour movie, but they cut the shit out of it to release in the theater. the result is something that's hard to follow and doesn't make sense in parts. oh, and i fell asleep on it twice. i'd like to find the unedited version just to see if the story does actually make sense.

I think you mean 'All the Pretty Horses' by Cormac McCarthy, one of my favorite writers. ATPH is the first book in the 'Border' Trilogy.

If you've ner read him, I would suggest starting with 'Blood
Meridian'

BTW I've never seen the movie. I just don't think Matt Damon is a good enough actor for the character.
