-Drop Dead Fred -underrated as hell and Rik Mayal rocks.
-Garbage Pail Kids- I hate the angry parents who got this one taken from video shelves.
- Less Than Zero- Still don't see why it gets such a bad rap.
- Hiding Out- sorry but Jon Cryer kicks ass
- Dudes (see above).
- All John Cusack movies of the era.
- Bill & Ted
- Repo Man - well technically not a Teen movie in the traditional sense, but it still OWNS...

- Weird Science
- Edward Scissorhands
"Excuse me sir, Did you wash your hands after you took that big heaping dump. You know that sign, that sign says ALL employees MUST wash their hands after using the restroom, What part of that do you not understand?"- Malcom X
"Would you care to lick my sweaty baulz after they have been dipped in the finest venerial juices and sauteed in my own ass-sweat, madam?"- Winston Churchill
this is cool-- the 'Less Than Zero' appreciation is building. im glad.

hey, don't forget princess bride and A CHRISTMAS STORY (shout-out to rents!!)
wes, that's probably one of my top 10 favorite episodes...number one being FESTIVUS
"it's a festivus for the restofus!"
What's that Garbage pail kids thing about? And The Princess Bride? Everyone raves about em.
garbage pail kids started as a spoof, of sorts, of the cabbage patch kids. i'm not sure if you were globally aware in the early '80s, but american girls could not get enough of this stupid fucking doll...we all had to have at least one. people died in stampedes trying to grab one of these things. fucking ree-dick. see also: furby. anyway, the cabbage patch kids all had cute names, but the garbage pail kids had gross names. they were gross kids. anyway, i think they were popular because they were a little bit PG-13 in our G and PG worlds. and our parents weren't fans.
the princess bride, however, is just an ol' fashioned fairy tale with wisecracks. think shrek, but not animated. oh, and it's based on a book by william goldman (could be goldberg...i can't remember), which is based on an even older text by morgenstern. goldman's spin is that he's only included "the good parts." the book and the movie are both very entertaining.
Oh, I remember those dolls. They were fucking hideous! I never wanted one...I got a furby when I was 12 though. If I could still find one, I'd buy one now!
Harry and the Hendersons
any John Candy movie, especially "The Great Outdoors"
Little Monsters
Look Who's Talking
Three Men and a Baby
Drop Dead Fred

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
"hot dogs, you know what hot dogs are made of? lips and assholes!!"
so many people quote that line and don't even know where it's from.
john candy movies were my principal bonding point with my dad as an awkward preteen.

the 80s were a hell hole where little to nothing good came out of it.
The entertainment that was made then was just like the 80s, plastic and fake.
Rated R for disturbing and graphic depiction of violent anti-social behavior, sexuality and language.
but it's funny.

HELL YES!!! On both accounts, though A Christmas Story takes the cake. Such an amazing, quotable movie. Jean Shepherd is a man of sheer genius.
