Your Favorite Song
By The Cure.
Everyone goes through that The Cure phase. Maybe they even tease their hair a little when they do it. My point is, everyone comes out of it with a favorite song. And they have like a million.
Mine is 'Jupiter Crash' because I'm almost 100% sure it is about premature ejaculation.

ummm... maybe "boys don't cry" or "pictures of you".
too many to choose, i can tell you the top five, in no specific order
1-Filter-Take a picture
2-Pearl Jam-Man of the hour
3-pearl jam-black
4-Pixies-where is my mind
5-Candiria-Down
but i have way too many favs. to list
douche
my favorite cure song would be "Wrong Number"
my hands-down absolute favorite song of the moment is Grant Lee Buffalo's "Fuzzy"--I dare anyone to try and find a song that's more haunted than this.
i never had a cure phase nor have any of their albums
is that personal jesus song by the cure ? if it is i gotta say that one because its the only one i know
my hands-down absolute favorite song of the moment is Grant Lee Buffalo's "Fuzzy"--I dare anyone to try and find a song that's more haunted than this.
seriously, guys, it's so good it makes me wish i could cry.
seriously, guys, it's so good it makes me wish i could cry.
never heard of him either but i'll look it up an give a listen an report back on my finding
and also i remembered there is a cure song on the crow soundtrack that is pretty good but i dont know the name of it
i think grant lee buffalo hit their highest point during the glam era of david bowie, if i'm not mistaken. i tried to download a song of theirs off of the velvet goldmine album, but i got this on accident, thankfully--though i still want that goldmine song, it kicked ass.
ummm... maybe "boys don't cry" or "pictures of you".
I was going to say 'pictures of you' but fuck thats a real toss up.
'love song' is another one of those great ones.

Anybody else tired of all these bands in interviews going...
"Ummm my idols.... O MY GOD ROBERT SMITH HES AMAZING.. IM ALL ABOUT THE 80s NEW WAVE.. IT WAS WICKED AND I LVOE MORRISSEY TOOO I WOULD FELLATE HIM IN THE SHOWER"
It just really pisses me off... it just seems so phony. And most of the new wave bulllshit synthesizing in the 1980's sucked anyways.
Goddamn.
I mean I like the Cure and The Smiths but fuck...

"... got this store bought way of saying I'm ok..."
i sure as hell like the newest wave of new wave much more than i dug the original shit. give me the kaiser chiefs or the killers or interpol or the bravery or franz ferdinand over fucking flock of seagulls or the smiths anyday.

I agree on all counts...
except for The BRavery.
just..
something wrong with those guys.
Im just tired of readin interviews and watchign stuff where the people in the band have this over grown obsessions with Morrisey/Robert Smith. Its fuckign ridiculous.

i don't read articles or watch tv. i just hear a song i like on the radio and download it, and if i really like it i'll download more of their songs. and if i like a majority of the songs, i'll consider buying the album (last week: the decemberists; this week: arcade fire; next week: probably stereophonics). i don't give a shit who they say their influences were, or how politically active they are, or how outspoken or annoying or whatever their lead singer is, or how drugged up the bassist is, if their music interests me, i'll check it out. otherwise, i move along.
fav cure song. hmmm. just like heaven. for sure

Van Halen's Ice Cream Man. Pure fun, and one of the greatest guitar solos EVER.
I'm a mid west girl, so The Cure was never a favorite of mine. I'd much prefer to hear heavy metal or some of the good ole boys. John Mellencamp's Ain't Even Done With the Night would be my favorite song.
Simple Logic is Wasted on Simple Minds.
all time favorite song tho would have to be 13 stitches by nofx

I can't believe you'd take THE KILLERS over THE SMITHS. Flock of Sea Gulls can get fucked in the ass by the Budweiser Clydesdales but THE SMITHS?!

i like all different music (even a little rap) but the only 2 songs in my wmp with a five star rating are:
paint it black
wish you were here (floyd)
EDIT: back on topic
the only cure song i know is "love song", so it gets my vote.

ummm you're on crack. i don't know how anyone could say this and mean it. it's not true on so, so many levels.
or you need to spend more time listening to the cure. that's ok, doll. you can't be blamed for being underexposed. just head back to the drawing board and we'll talk again some time next week.
to answer, i really really love playing the entire album, the head on the door.

sounds good, and to be honest i was kidding around, i have never heard the smiths before, i think, but i like the killers.
douche
see, that's good then. you've heard something modern and a little derivative, and you like what you hear, and you haven't heard what they're based on, but when you do, you'll love it. not to totally build anything up for you, but the smiths can be quite awesome. it's like that with gang of four - lots of people who like franz ferdinand or bloc party or something have never heard gang of four, but if they did, they'd be doing cartwheels. not that the killers are like the smiths at all, though.

most bands formed after 2000 i hate, with a few exceptions
douche
there's certainly good modern stuff! i'm around a really thrilling scene in boston right now, and plenty of them are modern and forming and reforming. just a matter of making it your hobby to weed through them all.

well, all the weeds are. that's not a bad way of putting it. but, you know. it's a fun little hobby, once you're on your way.

this is a very hard answer to give... but here goes:
my favorite song in the whole world is... under the bridge by the chili peppers...
antes ser rico e saudavel do que pobre e doente
good job, love that song, reminds me of home.
