Your favorite covers!
I know a lot of people that hate covers of songs, "because the original's always better". I actually enjoy certain covers more than the original.
Some of the covers I enjoy:
Antimatter - Working Class Hero [John Lennon]
Antimatter - Power Of Love [Frankie Goes To Hollywood]
Entire song, but just an album cover to look at:
There's more, but that's it for now!
What are your favorite covers, if any?!
For some reason, I didn't even think of songs when I saw the title. I thought of book covers, then thought of comforter-covers.
/lame
BTBAM did a pretty sick Cemetery Gates cover.

And Geek USA, as well.

Imke, thanks for spelling 'favorite' correctly despite being in Europe.
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
Hah, somebody noticed! I'm used to writing 'favourite', but from now on I'm going with 'favorite'.
My favourite of all time is this! Obviously!
I didn't know that was a cover! That song is neat.
Not a cover...an original! But ignorance of this fact prompts its being posted here.
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
Yeah BloodSugar! MSIIIIIIIIII! Wooooo!
They didn't have good quality vids for Tom Sawyer cuz I was gonna post that but I never even knew Big Poppa was a cover! Gosh! I suck.
EDIT: I never managed to like The Left Rights, I'm a bad fan =(

Ben Harper covering The Drugs Don't Work by The Verve makes me very sad:
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
I'll see your Ben Harper and raise you the Blind Boys of Alabama...
(Ben harper is awesome! and this whole behind the scenes thing...I get chills when I hear Clarence Fountain's voice all raw n such...)

Smashing Pumpkins-Landslide (even though Stevie Nicks is way hotter)
Eddie Vedder-Hide Your Love Away
Pearl Jam- Reign over me
douche

If you manage to decipher what he says before and during the song, you win a personal handshake from me !

We're gonna leave ya...with the usual thing...the only thing I can say, as I've said to many people is that this title just about puts it all into focus, it's called "With a Little Help from My Friends..." Remember it!
Haha, excellent !

Nice.
Also, this next video is the correct answer to the thread, whether it was asking for it or not.

Embedding disabled, Frank. Your video is no longer full of win.

Mad World by Gary Jules from Donald Darko...that's a cover, right? I remember hearing a not-good version.

The original is by Tears for Fears and it is also a delightfully awesome song. Much different in feeling, though. I prefer Gary Jules' version.
I didn't follow American Idol much, but this is just too great:
I love the Rufus cover of Across the Universe (and love the entire Poses album <3) but Fiona Apple's is definitely beautiful too.
I've seen Jack's Mannequin cover Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' "American Girl" 3 or 4 times and can vouch for it being fucking awesome.
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
I've posted these guys before, but I like them a lot...
Bowie and Ukulele seem to mesh quite well...
Taylor, YESH! <3 I like this version more than the original. Hah at you, Kanye.
EDIT_
Ehm, shit. This is the studio version.
The performance on the SHOW was better than the original. You should hear it.

I have! This was just the first video that came up, haha. But thank you! I love Kris Allen's voice. <3

Heartless live. <3

Also!
This is why we can't have nice things.
I think I have enjoyed every version of "Sympathy for the Devil" I've ever heard. I don't often think to play it but I'm always happy when it comes up in my rotation of music.
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
...even this version?
I should have known I would be challenged.
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
Heh.
Laibach, for those not old enough to remember, recorded an entire album's worth of Sympathys for the Devil. Like 8 or 9 very different versions.
Their Across the Universe was also amazing.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Indeed! (scary cossack OOOOMMMMMMMM!)
Devo covering Head Like A Hole
Probably my favorite.
