X2 (no spoilers thread)
I saw it on Saturday with this girl from work. Good movie. Kinda cheesy ending
I was just like, uh, they've got Storm... So it was totally unnecessary. I mean, Storm can make the entire fuckin sky fill with tornados... but she can't do that one little thing? Haha, wtf, you know?
But other than that, it was a lot better than the first.
id like to spoil this thread,..well the mood of... this looks like total shit.
special effect movies are for faggots that cant direct a real film.
shame Bryan Singer used to make good films... ie,. Apt Pupil and Usual Suspects.
*sob*
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
i want to make a tee- sfx are for total homo's who cant direct a 'real' film
i should eh.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
Yeah, so you're right,b ut sometimes they're fun.
This movie was okay, I guess about what Gucci said. (Which is a lot better than the first)
really? cos IMO- the first was incredibly lame.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
That's what I said.
See, it went like this:
Second was better than first.
Second = okay.
Therefore, First must be less than 'okay'.
WHich would be 'bad', 'sucky' or 'lame'. Perhaps even incredibly so.

this movie NEEDED sfx how could it not?
*SPOILER*
when they were be beign chased by the two jets and storm brought down the tornados what were they going to do without sfx? put up a sign that says a bunch of tornados?
yeah, shit on me, its called for, my 2cents worth is totally subjective.
im just not 'into' that style of film-making, but it makes lots of money, so it must be good. yknow.

It was way better than, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze."
Althought it obviously could have been helped by a soundtrack by Vanilla Ice.
Go X-Men, Go X-Men, Go!
*look of shock*
shame on YOU will, TMNT rules.

Oh, I know, Wesley Snack!
Believe me! I know!
I <3 Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird LONG time. TMNT were the idols of my childhood.

DUDE!! How can you say that? I have yet to see Xmen 2, but I can tell you right now, it's no TMNT2. No sequel can or will ever beat that, Will. EVER!!! *runs off to go cry in his room and play with his Ninja Turtles dolls, er, action figures.*
P.S. Besides, as you mentioned, Xmen don't have no soundtrack with THE Vanilla Ice on it, nor does he appear anywhere in the movie. Beat THAT, Xmen!
You know what would be really great?
"Choke: The Movie" Starring:
Vanilla Ice as Victor Mancini
M.C. Hammer as Denny Menning
THAT is my dream. Right there. Perfect!
and can we please get Young MC to sing 'Bust a Move' ?

All I have to say on the matter is, the movie was enjoyable, though nothing to deify. It had it's problems, although considering how much it crams into there from the years upon years of the X-men comic, it's not bad.
Sure as hell could have been worse.
And, for the record, the one action scene that Nightcrawler had to himself was SEX.

I'm going to have to this for the sole purpose that disx referred to an action sequence as SEX, all caps. Well, this reason and cause I used to be a huge comic book geek. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen it yet. Such is the life of a poor college student.
That was eponymous... =\
I'm not that clever or interesting. =[
Oh shit. So it was. I was going off of the avatar and they look somewhat similar when you just catch 'em out of the corner of your eye. Kind of. Well, then, there's yet another reason for me to go see it.
Yeah well Eponymous was stealing mine. Like as soon as I finished using an avatar that was a scene from Equilibrium, he'd use the one I had, just changed up a little bit. The bastard. >_<
Hey, I made mine entirely seperately. And mine shows only the frames in which Preston's gun has muzzle flash.
There's quite obviously a HUGE difference, that is so obvious I won't point it out.
Jesus, that is a long fuckin' avatar movie. I got to go see this now.
is it out on video yet
Good question. Anybody? I seem to remember an "I don't know" being the answer to this question a little while ago, but I don't remember.

I know I'm sort of late on this one, but I finally saw X2 tonight to avoid The Matrix crowds and I must say, I can't believe how impressed I was by this movie.
Like many of you, I felt sort of dry from the first film. It wasn't so bad, as it was just sort of tame and uneventful. As a comic fan, X-Men was always one of my favorites. I think I collected it for about 50-75 issues at one point.
But by the time the movie finally came out, I just didn't care. So to have everyone telling me that the sequel was better than the first wasn't such a big incentive to me. I just went to go see it b/c I thought the trailers looked good.
But I didn't expect I'd enjoy the movie as much as I did. I saw it with 3 friends and we all thought it was great. Very well directed, tight pacing, excellent cast, unique action sequences... but most of all, just good pay-offs. The film sort of did everything I wanted it to do. And they really knew how to utilize the powers each mutant had and give you good sequences with them. (need more Collosus!)
I think the best sequences in the film were:
(mild spoilers)
- Stryker's men taking down the mansion and Wolverine going psycho.
- The opening White House seq. with Night Crawler in the hallways.
- Wolverine's fight with Deathstrike.
- Magnito and Mystique making fun of their costumes.
- Mystiques entrance into the damn and how she gets into the control room... sliding across that floor.... damn, that gave me a hard-on.
- Every bit of dialogue with Sir Ian McKellan.
To me, it was an event movie that actually delivered, and I'm glad I spent $9 to see it.
(damn, where did that come from)
Wanna have the pants scared off you in 90 seconds?
Watch 'Laundry Day', my new horror short:
