whats the worst movie you ever saw?
Did you know that they're making a Pride and Predator movie? Did you know that Pride and Predator is an actual novel? Or about Pride, Prejudice and Zombies as a novel? If they got the original movie crew for Pride and Prejudice to film the inevitable Pride, Prejudice and Zombies that would be awesome. That had Kira Knightly in it. Kira Knightly is hot...
I forgot where I was going with all this.
dear jeebus up in heaven on the moon please let keira knightley battle zombies in a frilly dress with an updo while spouting filthy language!!!!
Cutthroat Island
The Aviator
Armageddon
The Happening or any other M Night Shamanalan flicks
Death Proof by Tarantino
anything with Keanu Reeves except Rivers Edge and Bill and Ted.
Death Proof by Tarantino

I can watch that all day.
douche
Death Proof by Tarantino

2nd'd. And M. Night's older stuff (Signs, Sigsth Sense, UnB'able) is not to be disrespected.
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
i've never seen a bad tarantino movie. he is to me what palahniuk is to the noobs around here.
I really looked forward to Death Proof when it came out, especially with Kurt Russell. It sucked on wheels, pun intended. The dialogue seemed forced to me, maybe just bad acting. Pretty much everything he has done since Jackie Brown has been bad. Kill Bill wasn't very good, seemed like a ripoff of good Korean flicks like Oldboy. It had it's moments, but nowhere near Dogs or Pulp Fiction. I used to consider Tarantino my generations Scorcese, but I think he has jumped the shark.
M Night Shamalam's movies are so bad that I actually get mad watching them. Bad stories and worse acting. That last one I saw with Marky Mark was one of the worst yet. The lead actress was so bad. His movies make me wish ALL the the lead characters get killed. I'd rather watch Nascar.
I guess the theme of the Grindhouse movies just flew right over your head, huh?

I used to work at a drive-in theatre in the late 70's, so.....no, it didn't go over my head. I get the premise. Actually, the trailers and Planet Terror were good. I would have rather seen the badass Mexican, "Machete" made into a movie.
The dialogue did seem forced to me in Death Proof. Tarantino speech does not translate well with women. All I could think was, "clearly a man wrote this." Not natural at all.
But I didn't find it that bad of a movie. Definitely had the best lapdance scene in a Hollywood movie. That should be worth more of an oscar than playing a mental.
A man chooses. A slave obeys.
I think they are making a Machete movie.
see i didn't really like planet terror. i wouldn't say it was a bad movie necessarily, i just didn't enjoy it like i did death proof.
machete has been confirmed. and that mexican guy, like the one from anchorman, has to be the best movie extra in the history of the world

Domino was also very, very bad. Way too long than it needed to be.
A man chooses. A slave obeys.
ugh, i really thought keira knightley in small clothes with knives would get me through this movie, but it did not. 20 minutes in i just gave up.
oh god, and Catwoman with halle barry was horrifying. gave up on that 20 mins in, too.
and keep in mind i LOVE those made for sci-fi movies, i'm SO HAPPY when they have the marathons. i love to go "oh, she's the cheap knock-off of angelina jolie. oh, he's the cheap knock-off of - no, that really IS gary busey. damn."
so it's gotta really be bad for me to not enjoy it.
Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr decides that weapons are a bad thing, and that the best solution is a bigger weapon. Then he blows stuff up, drives fast cars, and makes out with Gwyneth Paltrow. Not the worst movie I've seen recently, but it's up there.
i didn't think Ironman was all that great either, but i can think of about 200 movies WAY worse than it.
The Fast and The Furious franchise. I sort of liked the first one when I was 13, the rest were shit. Or does that go without saying?
I liked Iron Man. It was actually funny and Robert Downey Jr. is really cool. He makes me laugh.
i agree, but what a lame villain.
i agree, but what a lame villain.
he had a preposterously egocentric character to play, but he made it work - i think he didn't come off as too cheesy because i know that he's been trashed and woken up in someone else's house, in someone else's bed. when i see him i think of goldilocks.
Bridges wasn't that bad. when i see HIM i think of bowling.
eww. no. that sounds awful.
i would have reacted the same way.
I thought Iron Man was great.
The power of delusion is incredibly strong
The Fountain.

eww. no. that sounds awful.
i would have reacted the same way.
I thought Iron Man was great.
oh you should totally watch Bug. the guy that directed the Exorcist directed it. i'll never watch it again EVER.
while we're on the subject of superhero movies, the Phantom sucked - and it had billy zane in a purple skintight leotard.
eww. no. that sounds awful.
i would have reacted the same way.
I thought Iron Man was great.
I tried watching Bug! I got really bored reeeeaaaally quickly. Never even saw any Bug related stuff.
I walked out of The Avengers because it was so ridiculously boring. I watched the whole of The Hottie and the Nottie, it was like having a lobotomy. I wasn't having any fun, and usually I love to hate things, but I didn't have the mental capacity to turn it off. Be warned!

oh so you didn't get to the parts with all the aluminum foil and the psychosis and the pliar-teeth-pulling and digging stuff out from under... yeah. it got really weird. itchy weird.
I ought to try it again. It just seemed to me like SO low rent that the eventual gore might not be sufficient.
not much gore, really. slow-building suspense, so the last half hour is spent watching it and DIGGING AT YOUR OWN FLESH. at least that's what i did.
but i have heard others say "that was so STUPID. it wasn't even scary." of course the person who said this also recommended the Guardian.....
(and i strongly recommend Pinata: Survival Island, so all recommendations are worthless, really!!!)
Well, I had blocked out all memories of the hottie and the nottie, but thank you for reminding me. Apart from the sheer awfulness, there's of course the "moral" of that movie: plastic surgery will solve all of your problems. No more hollywood movies for more, it's all indie flicks from here on out. Except for District 9. That looks slick.
The Dude as a villian was an interesting concept. I didn't think it was necessarily 'bad'. I was just disappointed that he never refered to Tony Stark as "Tone-Man".
Wow.
Wow.
First Triscuits, now this. Do you also despise teddy bears, puppies, small children, and sunsets?
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
Also, you guys need to quit disrespecting The Bug! I know it wasn't in line to win any oscars, but just watch Bug Man in all his glorious awkwardness and enjoy.
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
I believe I was the only one disrespecting Bug. I stand by it too! The 25 minutes I watched were SUBPAR.
Dumb and Dumberer was upsettingly bad, I hate when they go and ruin something with super naff and completely unnecessary sequels, prequels, whatever. Even the Dumb and Dumber cartoon surpassed Dumb and Dumberer in terms of humour and necessity.
There was a cartoon? Holy fuck
Get the fuck off my internets.
Awesome. This film is magnificent in its badness.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Fix't.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Wasn't that pretty much the whole point of Grindhouse?
QT has been homaging since day one, only his references are either less subtle overall or maybe just more obvious to you.
Jumped the shark after two films? You mean like Scorsese? (Yeah, I went there.)
I'm not singling you out or anything, nor am I supporting Tarantino necessarily, but he's still far better than a lot of supposed auteurs out there.
That's right, "homage" as verb.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I thought Kill Bill was pretty excellent.

Stopit don't make me cry. I actually thought it was beautiful. I wondered what people would say if I said it was the worst.
The prestige sucks.

the only thing that stops the fountain from being a perfect movie is No Way the future guy should have accomplished putting the ring on. He should have failed that in the past AND future versions.
I second that motion

Scorcese has made some shite himself, "Gangs of New York" and the "Aviator", maybe i wrote it wrong....I should have said that I FEAR Tarantino has jumped the shark. When his next flick comes out, I'll be there opening night fo sho.
i LOVED the Prestige.
and as for scorcese, COME ON!! The Departed was awesome, he's still got it. but thank you, Tuffy, for the back-up on Pinata: Survival Island.
Kill Bill was fun.
Bug was itchy.
i would select any of these through netflix over pretty much EVERYTHING that's being released this summer. i've been trying to want to go to the movies, but eh.

gah! 'the prestige' was amazing. 'the fountain' seemed pointless and boring to me.
ok...I've added Bug to my queue.
the Prestige was awesome. I love it!!
I thought The Departed was a pretty big let down. Everyone was telling me it is such a great film. so i finally watch it. It wasn't all that good. It had a great build up but the ending was shit. I don't think it was the worst movie ever and shouldn't be in this thread but i do think it was disappointing.
I would like to nominate Beowulf to this thread. the shitty newer one with Angelina Jolie.
The power of delusion is incredibly strong
You may wanna try The Departed another time. I found it too complex to enjoy fully the first time, and the ending is less random the second time around.
The ending of Bug totally sucks, btw. I won't say anything beyond that. Just pretend it never ended, and enjoy Bug Man in his entirety.
"They sold you hippies grunge, hip hop, now liberty activism."
CourtneyN216: I second Giggan's suggestion that you watch the Departed again. i actually watched it twice within a twelve hour time frame to make sure i caught everything.
and i second YOUR opinion on Beowulf. we almost walked out of this one, but then my husband fell asleep and i just sort of daydreamed and waited for it to end.
Beowulf tried too hard to be 300, which itself was pretty overhyped.
