What's the last movie you rented?
i got Wonderland just 'cause I think Val Kilmer is just dreamy.
then i got S.W.A.T. cause i wanna make babies with that sexy biotch Colin Farrel - even though i dont know how to spell his last name.

Shade.
Hidalgo (yes, i rented Hidalgo).
Frighteners, The
Irreversible.
Taking Lives.
The Human Stain.
Bubba Ho-Tep.
The Big Bounce.
i've been at home sick, been renting a lot of movies.
Secret Window. I fell asleep in the third act.
Millennium Mambo
The last thing I rented was "Hidalgo." I was so excited for this movie when it was coming out in the theathers and missed it because of work/school schedules. So I waited for DVD release and eagerly rented it.
It was alright but not the action/adventure that I expected. It was a lot like "The Last Samurai" (which was the movie I last rented before this!) except now its the Middle East and a horse instead of a sword. Can't expect too much from a Disney backed thing, except "Pirates" which rocks.

Any good? I saw the DVD the other day and thought about renting it but it just looked like another foreigney sort-of-political turbulence dramedy about "real people" living their lives amongst foreigney hardship stuff having to do with communism... there's a zillion of those...
The mind is the limit. I am going to be the best personal trainer to ever exist on this earth. I am going to inspire, motivate, and change lives. I have that power. Thirteen. I hated it.
Thirteen. I hated it.
HollyHunter bugs me and thirteen wasn't THAT bad, it was basically about some young chick doing young chickstuff except it tried to be controversial by adding in lots of promiscuous blowjobs. At least they finally got it right in a movie, that tongue rings are for one thing and one thing only!

The film was the biggest anti-climax ever. I couldn't help but laugh when the idiot just put her head back and screamed ...which was probably a good thing because the rest of the time I was bored to tears. I found it amusing how that the two girls only hung out with Black guys.

That part, about the white girls with the black dudes, was like spot-on reality in America. I see this everyday. I don't notice it because I'm some kind of racially-obsessed prson, but more because I never see white chicks with white dudes anymore. At least not in this town. It's all white chicks with blacks and mexicans. I'm talking about the kids I see, the ones who look high school aged. Then again, I ain't never been to the high school except tosee a couple football games so I may be missing out on whatit's really like. I just see the kids at Walmart and at the movie store and at some of the restaurants. That's really all there is in this town... Walmart, the movie store, and some restaurants, so pretty much I base my observations on seeing everybody at the Walmart... I dunno it's wierd. TV portrays people, adult people, as being all enlightened and okay with interracial couples, but where I live, it's like archie bunker, they are like WHAT'S WITH THE COLORED'S MESSIN' WITH OUR WOMEN? It's total ignorance here. I don't care what televisionsays, homophobia and racism are bigger than ever based on my own observations...

Godsend, which was decent, which matched my expectations
Taking Lives...It was bad...except for the short porno scene.

Open Your Eyes is the original spanish version of Vanilla Sky before Cameron Crowe remade it in a sequel that doesn't come close to the original. Both are good. The original is better...

I've been meaning to see the original. I dunno, it must be weird having the same (hot) actress play the same role in two versions of the same movie, but in different languages.
Is Abre Los Ojos much different than Vanilla Sky? Or vice versa, I mean, since Ojos came first.

The original is more pure. Think about a movie like "sex, lies, and videotape". It would not be the same film if it was a huge hollywood production. Vanilla Sky is all about pop culture crap. It's all about taking something pure and using and abusing it. I hate that they even remade it for any reason. Why must they remake everything? Crowe should leave brilliant shit alone and make his dumb movies about his childhood. Cameron Crowe wanted to make a statement. That's why he choose Tom Cruise. That's why he used Times Square. That's why he used over 400 pop culture references in the rewritten script. Cameron Crowe makes good films, but his films are all made to be about him in some way. I don't like al his clever little allusions planted throughout like the poster of Jules et Jim in Cruise's bedroom, one of the hundreds of pop culture references to the end of the story, since in Truffaut's French New classic, the female lead drives her and her lover off of a bridge in the end. Things like that ruin it for me. Plus he puts pictures of his other films in the background, more propaganda for him. Plus Crowe ruined the ending, not leaving it open for interpretation like the original, at least not in such an open way as the original does... check em both out or don't, I just liked the original better...

Bubba Ho-tep, which you'll only like if you're a Bruce Campbell fan. Other than that it may be one of the worst horror movies ever made.

Okay I've seen them now and yah I kinda agree with the above sentiments.
The part where he goes blind and can still see, did they take that from the Dune books?

I agree, it was so perfect, but they really just expanded on the cod philosophy element in the other two and that pissed me off.
Yes, and despite the second one being "iffy," the third movie could have came back and saved the franchise. But it didn't.
Oh well.

Not so much rented as borrowed from a friend: Season 6 of Buffy.
It's a shame the show took such a dive after season 4, but the uber-geek trio of "super villains" is providing some amusement at least. To be fair, I'm only through episode 5, but so far...eh.
