"For most of this century, scientists have worshiped the hardware of the brain and the software of the mind; the messy powers of the heart were left to the poets."
not necessarily a guilty pleasure but goddammit i can't get any of it out of my head..... for those that don't know this is Danger Days:The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys by My Chemical Romance
as low as they come.....call me....Zen

The Manson and Hole Albums. Yes. Me too.
Just can't help it really. It is probably our age.
Also,

And I saw them live when they were on tour for this one!
To begin my love is always Floater. It isn't so much as a jamming to as a being in love with, if one could be in love with a band. I feel shy about talking about them, but cannot help myself often.
But my music tastes are vast in the end.
Albums to jam to though. Here:

The Blue album is such a classic! And I would say Manson is a guilty pleasure but I still listen to him quite a lot at times. I do love "Mechanical Animals" and "Holy Wood"
"For most of this century, scientists have worshiped the hardware of the brain and the software of the mind; the messy powers of the heart were left to the poets."
I don't have "guilty pleasures" since I unashamedly and unabashedly listen to a lot of "bad" music. Absolutely unironically, too since I genuinely enjoy, for example,

Just discovered this Viking Metal act last night. Good stuff...

Way better than you remember:

This one's actually hard to admit to. Hey, the songs are good, okay?

I have tons more.
This is why we can't have nice things.
BAH

I was so sure we've had this exact same thread not too long ago, but I can't find the one I was thinking about. Instead I found older ones.
Oh well.
This has been posted by me too often already, but it remains my guilty pleasure: (Happy) Hardcore.
This is why we can't have nice things.
i remember playing jagged little pill practically non-stop when i was a kid.
i think i'd fit guns n roses on here and aerosmith. these last two i wouldn't really consider guilty pleasures though. i just, how do you say, rock out with my clock out when they come on or i play them.
You Oughtta Know is my All-Time Number-One Most-Requested Singing-In-The-Shower tune.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Korn.
See, it's statements like this that make me feel old.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. I grew up with that, so whatever. I only listen to them like once in a few months, though, and only on youtube, I am not polluting my computer.
My Current Favorite: Yellow Magic Orchestra - albums: BGM,& Technodelic -
Skinny Puppy, Download, Cevin Key, Ohgr
Todd Rundgren
Brian Eno
Roxy Music
David Bowie
Wendy Carlos
T.Rex
New Musik
John Foxx
Harry Nilsson
Devo
and Nirvana's Bleach is awesome... i agree.. that and In Utero.. are the best of Nirvana's work..
In Utero is special to me.
First album I ever owned because I liked it, instead of because it was what everyone else liked.
That Lumsk band is kind of groovy.
*Guilty* Pleasures, people. Bands you are loathe to admit liking. Alright?
This is why we can't have nice things.
I was thinking the same thing. Why the hell would Manson and Nirvana be guilty pleasures?

Am I doing it right now?
I'll rock the house down with this one.
Manson because I am not 14 anymore. Nirvana, well for the same reason only you'd have to understand how cracked out on Nirvana I once was.
I can see Manson being embarrassing if one was once into applying way too much black lipstick and, like, wearing a cape. I've seen this. I've not done it. When I was that age (1982!) it was Christian Death and 45 Grave. I wasn't a deathrock kid though, I was a punk. Sayin'.

i'm sorry. if it helps, i was 14 then and barely a kid.

I was a baby in '82. I've worn black lipstick, and I've worn capes, not often at the same time however. I was always grunge plus whatever mood of style hit me that month/day. Pearls and silver, velvet, ratty hair, flannel and silk, torn nylons and denim, so much black and always combat boots unless it was a platform heels day. With a baby on my hip. I've managed to tone it down a little since I've grown.
child of the '90's.
The embarrassment would be 1) how very silly it was of me to take the band as seriously as I did, and 2) I thought those boys with the capes and nailpolish were sooo sexy.
Have to laugh at myself.
I absolutely love the last one.
I knew the lyrics to "Cambio dolor" by heart when I was in primary school.
And OBVIOUSLY:
Also this, the first girl-band ever in our post-Communist era.
I was 9 and thought these two 15-year-olds were awesome. The chorus goes like: "Free at the seaside/I'm lying on the beach with you/We're making love on the hot sand/I'm not a good girl anymore."
But I don't like them anymore. It's just nostalgia.
You shut your mouth
How can you say
I go about things the wrong way?
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does
There's a club if you'd like to go
You could meet somebody who really loves you
So you go and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home and you cry
And you want to die
When you say it's gonna happen "now"
Well when exactly do you mean?
See I've already waited too long
And all my hope is gone
This is why we can't have nice things.
Spice Girls and I even had the stupid matching platform shoes.
Here's a few more of mine...oh man lol
"For most of this century, scientists have worshiped the hardware of the brain and the software of the mind; the messy powers of the heart were left to the poets."
I never really liked Spice Girls, but I do have the shoes too!
This though:
The last few posts contain a lot of songs I do not consider guilty pleasures.
My Chemical Romance- Helena
I have all of Aaliyah's albums except maybe one.
My Chemical Romance - The Ghost of You!
I like Coldplay. There. I said it.
Haha. Someone just needs to fess up to Nickelback now.
Not me though.
Not me though.
haha no me either...I do love the Goo Goo Dolls though.
"For most of this century, scientists have worshiped the hardware of the brain and the software of the mind; the messy powers of the heart were left to the poets."
I'll admit this song and this album...
"For most of this century, scientists have worshiped the hardware of the brain and the software of the mind; the messy powers of the heart were left to the poets."
I love Fireflies! And that album is pretty fun.
Not me though.
I'll step forward...That stupid this is how you remind me song ...I think that's what it was called I don't remember all their songs sound the same to me now.
erm...
I had a major crush on Zac.
They're all quite hot now though. Apart from Isaac. Poor guy wasn't quite so blessed.

I became a bit addicted to Awolnation this year, um, last year. Favorite new band.
I couldn't decide which topic to put this in, but I guess this one seemed most appropriate.
This one is my favorite song of theirs, since the first time I heard it.
I've always been a pretty big fan of The Offspring. *hangs head* Well, their first three albums at least.
My favorites
And, my all time favorite song ever. Ever. yeah. *hangs head more* I don't care what's going on, this one is cranked up all the way.
YOUSTUPIDDUMBSHITGODDAMNMOTHERFUCKER!
"Ahhhh intermission"
"For most of this century, scientists have worshiped the hardware of the brain and the software of the mind; the messy powers of the heart were left to the poets."
Ooooh yeah.
Saw them at Vans warped tour best set I ever saw ( not saying much since I don't really brave shows at all)
I also have a signed poster of them that got stepped on and moshed on. Was awesome.

Some good albums there you picked.
