What are you watching now?
I'm liking Big Love on HBO. First 2 episodes were good.
Likewise.
Right now Samurai Champloo.

This morning I watched Serpico, pretty good, Al Pacino is fantastic.
Now I'm eating rice and chicken.
This afternoon I'm going to watch a film called Stalker, which my fundamentalist Xtian ex recommended to me.
!
I'm watching About a Boy right now
I watched About a Boy when it was on today, too. USA, right?
Right now Liverpool TV.
Futurama volume 2, which I stole from my bro when i went home. Booyah.
Fuck not with Rocketman
I watched About a Boy when it was on today, too. USA, right?

I actually rented it. Now I'm watching Super Sweet Sixteen on MTV.
I just watched Insomnia, the original Norwegian version. I think I actually prefer the remake with Robin Williams and Al Pacino. Anyone else seen either?
!
I saw the Al Pacino one, and I wasn't very excited about it. It was no where near as good as Memento was, but it was a decent thriller otherwise.
Last night I watched Matewan, by John Sayles. Really good movie, but really shit transfer to DVD. Today I've got A History of Violence and 40 Year Old Virgin.
EDIT: Holy shit, 40 Year Old Virgin is 2 hours and 13 minutes? What the fuck do they need with that extra half an hour?
Well yeah, Memento is a total landmark. My memory of the original is hazy but I think he used the direction to show the Insomnia and sleep deprivation of the main character better than the director of the original. I think I'll rent the new one as well, just to refresh.
I think I'll also get One Hour Photo, Robin Williams is alright as a serious actor.
Tell me what you think of History Of Violence, it looks interesting.
!
i hear history of violence is great, but i'm not a fan of david cronenbergs, so we'll see. if you like robin williams as a serious actor, you should hunt down Final Cut. kind of a strange little film, but i enjoyed it a lot. it's got jesus in it.
i liked insomnia enough, but i was so let down by the fact that it was his follow up to memento; and even his first film, Following, was better. but the visuals were great, and pacino did a good job, and so it was probably a really good normal summer movie, i just expected more. thank god batman begins was so good, or else i'd start writing chris nolan off a bit.
I've only seen Videodrome and Crash but Cronenburg seems alright, I've added it to my list.
Speaking of Williams, I may have to add Jumanji too.
Like I said, Memento was a bit of a landmark of film making, it would be hard to follow up. I'll have to track down his first film.
Now I'm half watching Bellevue Rendezvue.
!
History of Violence is unlike anything Cronenberg has done before. Mainstream, or at least as mainstream as he gets.
I really liked it, but a lot of people I respect hated it.
Belleville Rendezvous is a total little gem.
okay, here's an interesting list of the Top 100 Scripts of Blah Blah. Kind of interesting, kind of bland. Glad to see some newer films in there, such as Eternal Sunshine, but Groundhog's Day? Interesting choice. Memento is low on the list, but it's still on the list, which I guess is cool. Also, I had no idea that Francis Ford Coppola wrote Patton.
corpse bride... and not enjoying it at all...
i seem to have a problem with tim burton; i always expect him to make great films but the only time i didn't get a huge disappointment was "big fish"... it was just a little disapointment
i still haven't seen "charlie and the choco factory" but i'm hoping it's very good... because the story and the original deserve it and i know burton's got it in him... somewhere...

Today, I rented Thumbsucker and Rent. So, I will be watching these movies later on tonight.
I just watched Rent. It was really good.
I was watching Love, actually yesterday but I ran short of kleenex and nutella and fiancée halfway through it.

Factotum !!!

I know! It's awesome, isn't it? I think he really pulled off Hank Chinaski.
!
who?
Chinaski was Charles Bukowski's alter ego.

I watched The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover last night. The whole aesthetic of the film was really quite impressive.
i had three different people tonight trying to describe some movie theyd seen and even though i had never seen the movie they meant before in my life i was able to tell em what movie they were talking about
im partly ashamed and proud of my uncanny ability to do this
I just saw Failure to Launch. That movie sucks!!! Do not see it.
you should've asked and i would've saved you the time and money.
i'm watching 40 year old virgin right now. really funny stuff.
who?
The character that Matt Dillon plays, how can you be watching that movie and not know that?
I'm watching Friends, is like the second episode or something and their hair is pretty funny. A different actress plays his lesbian ex-wife.
!
I just finished watching O Lucky Man (finally!) and It managed to bump it's way into my top 5 with minimal resistance. What a brilliant and curious film it is. You think you can second guess it but you can't.
Britannia Hospital. Third in the loose Mick Travis trilogy and by far the worst. The story revolves around a protest outside a hospital and the staff's attempts to deal with it. All the while a Dr. Miller is developing a god complex and working on his Frankenstein resume in the basement. Not to say it's bad exactly, but it pales in comparison to O Lucky Man. Doesn't have any of the charm, not to mention the satire is pretty much all over the place. But again, not in a charming way like O Lucky Man. It seems strange to consider it the third in the Mick Travis trilogy, because Mick (Malcolm McDowell) is barely in it (not to mention meeting his end in a very ignoble way). All in all too full of holes and unanswered plot questions.
I'm watching Slaughterhouse Five, it's okay so far.
!
That new episode of South Park where Cartman plots to get Family Guy taken off the air.
People's Court, Judge Mathis, and Judge Hatchett. sometimes multi-tasking is NOT a beneficial skill.
"...human speech is like a cracked tin kettle, on which we hammer out tunes to make bears dance when we long to move the stars."
I saw Thank You For Smoking last night. Really funny, except that Katie Holmes can't act.
I don't like that girl.... so bad. She always ruins movies for me.... Like Batman Begins.
If...
Holy fuck is it a brilliant film! I'd say it is technically better than O Lucky Man, as OLM tends to ramble and go off on tangents in parts (not that that is a bad thing, it suited the story), whereas If... is far more focused and constant. Such a deep, bizarrely romantic film, and that final looped shot of Malcolm McDowell on the roof with the machine gun is most spine tingling (to dust off an old chesnut. can't think of the last time someone actually said spine tingling in all sincerity).
Seinfeld.
The episode where George's girlfriend has a male roommate, and he looks just like George.
I'm downloading the second series of Absolute Power, it's a British comedy with Steven Fry so it's obviously brilliant.
!
The Truman Show
I just saw the episode of South Park where Cartman is trying to get Family Guy pulled, it's un-fucking-believable that after everything that the show stood for they still couldn't show the image of Mohammed. Terrorism is winning, apparently.
!
I'm fairly sure that was the joke. Mohammed has been seen in South Park before.
I read this before I saw the show - http://www.tv.com/story/story.html?story_id=4116&q=south+park
I think it's true.
!
Well I still believe the censor was part of the show. It was all a dig at Comedy Central for pulling their Scientology episode. Like I said, Mohammed was a character on the show before. In the 'Super Best Friends' episode.

I'm watching The Village, I've never seen it before...
I'd really like to go find a spoiler, see what happens and stuff, I do that with most movies I see, but apart of me thinks this movie might actually really surprise me, and I'm not surprised often with movies, and I don't wanna ruin that...
But I don't wanna pay attention for this whole thing and then at the end think, "LAME!!"
I mean, I could be taking a bath right now...so if it sucks, lemme know! But for the love of god, if it IS good, don't tell me what happens, you fucking cynics!! Let me have my surprises!
