What are you listening to right now?
Icelandic is pretty!
I couldn't agree more:
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
I've been pretty much only listening to Bjork and Sigur Ros for the last week. Interesting that you guys should pick those cats. Too, been hitting Jonsi and Alex whenever i need to read something.
i picked up asher roth about a month ago. really liking it. found his song family man and that shows what he's about and his range with racing a beat--dude has serious talent for a laid back kinda cat.
and jay z's blueprint 3 = very fucking good, and alecia keys just kills on it

I refuse to believe you're being serious.
Currently listening to (and watching) this. Trying to conquer this beast on piano.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
I'm listening to Matthew Shipp's session on NPR-
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=112931672
it's awesome.
!
Lately, Modest Mouse. all of their albums.
Anyone know of 'em?

Anyone know of 'em?
Of course! They're awesome, I think the singer sounds like The Robot Devil. Listen to the first song on We Were Dead...
!

I listen to pretty much everything, though lately I've been alternating through Portishead, Bjork, and a lot of fairly underground hiphop such as Sadistik and Canibus.
I absolutely adore Portishead! Sour Times & Only You are my favourite songs.
On another note.. I am currently listening to this:
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.

I really like the first song off of their newest album, it sounds like a chase scene-
Whoops, just realised I tried putting a video in picture tags again.
!
naw, eddie. raw talent, and rare. plus, very different. he had jay z's backing, which was weird to me after seeing some pictures of him--i mean, what could a dude taking pictures like that possibly be about? so i peeped him. i really like four tacks on his album, and the freestyle family man showcases his talent. em backed him recently, and he's on pretty much on all lists of the hottest mcs in the game right now. so, it's not just me, brother
other than that, ive been spending crooked time with tom waits' mule variations. very nice. my woman's been a fan forever and i'm quite a slow learner

i'm with you here. don't base asher roth's talent solely only on 'i love college'. that album is full of well-written, well-produced songs. 'i love college' is the only party song on it.
listening to the new Muse album and some stuff by Menomena.

I've heard that album and I have to say, catogorically, that menomena > muse.
This was one of my favourites-
!

Right now, I'm bathing my brain with the awesome tunes of Depeche Mode. Everything of 'em. Except for Praying the angel, I don't have that album. Haven't heard Anything(!) from it, except for precious, I think... Tis' any good?

I'm listening to Tom Edison's Mary Had a Little Lamb.
RETRO, BABY!!!
oh shit!
i haven't heard their new album yet...but the Decemberists make me believe good music is still happening somewhere out in a sea of garbage.
Life is a gift horse in my opinion.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
cool, nate. you listen to that.
playin. that's a rare find, if it's true. maybe somebody from france was at the gettysburg address and we'll finally get to hear old abe give a speech. hope hope.

A great version of this song.
My ex sent me every Smashing Pumpkins album ever, cos I dind't have them all. It was sort of "our" band (blah, blah, blah, romance, love, gross, puke!) Once we broke up I thought I wouldn't be able to listen to Smashing Pumpkins anymore, but apparently it didn't effect me one bit as it's ALL I've been listening to the past month.
It's like I've got a new understanding for them. I can't get enough.
So, yeah. Smashing Pumpkins.
2+2=5 by radiohead. mmmmmm. and the fallout 3 soundtrack

Going through the latest album of Joe Henry - Blood From Stars
Listening to the track
The Man I Keep Hid.
I've been listening to a band Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey. They're pretty good, just enough avart garde influence to keep it interesting but still grounded enough to enjoy casually.
!
You can call me a cynic,
but at least I'm realistic.
I went to Ikea today,
it didn't change my life.
Yet everyone in my street is going Scandinavian.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.

Your last two posts can be summed up as: when poor taste meets great taste.
I'm going to take that as a back-handed compliment!
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
better than a front-handed insult.
I've got Say Anything's song Shiksa (Girlfriend) going. The Bled and Punk Goes Crunk cd. I love them.
Jack Johnson
Mason Jennings
Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King (Dave Matthews Band)
The Byrds
Listening to Nirvana - Unplugged. All of it.

What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
My new favorite song is Madrugada - Majesty, and it's because of this audition:
And the full song here:
Alter Bridge - Watch Over You.
There is no proper way to cope, no everlasting grace.
Just a flame on a river floating away.
Johnny Truant - I The Exploder
Badass.
[And yesh, the video's wrong, it's not "Explorer"]
Is this some House of Leaves tribute or something?
I guess you're right. I didn't know.
Johnny Truant was an underground, Brighton based British metalcore band with progressive influences, formed in 2000 originally under the name Severance. The name Johnny Truant is taken from the book House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski.

I don't care for Muse, at all, but I actually kinda like that song. o___O
It's Norwegian gypsy time for me again. *Dances*

Sooooo good!
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
