What are you listening to right now?
This.

That song sounded so lovely live.
I've been on a Nothing's Shocking kick myself lately. Such a seminal album.
New Street Sweeper Social Club is a good. Some Radiohead 'In Rainbows' still. New Placebo and Common is alright, as well as the new Depeche Mode. Been a slow couple of months but a lot of stuff is coming out at once.
And the always infallible iPod on shuffle. Some Nick Drake playing at the moment.
Ah, Client. I think you are the only person I've ever heard ever mention them. Good stuff.
Man, Underoath's newest album is definitely my favorite by them.
From the slower song, Too Bright To See Too Loud To Hear:
To their heavier stuff [<3] like Breathing In A New Mentality:
I haven't listened to much Underoath since their first album, but that second song was surprisingly badass.

New Rancid album. Been all I've listened to for two weeks.
Taylor, I used to listen to that song now and then.
I love the tooters. [>_>]
Some parts sound old school. I dig it.
The new The Dear Hunter album is coming out tomorrow [Act III: Life And Death]. I really really have to get used to it, it's so different from the album before that.
However, I already love this song:
Listening to What's a Girl to Do? by Bat For Lashes, excellent stuff. Off her first album.
(Or yodeling.... however you spell it.)
I love that.
This is all what music is all about, as a player and as a spectator. I have the DVD and the album and I never het tired of them.
The Band is scandalously underappreciated now, it's about time to rediscover it.
:]] I just watched it again and it still gives me chills. Levon Helms and Rick Danko melt my face off every time I see this clip. It's amazing to me how well they all did what they did and like you said, how no one really knows who The Band is.
They will always be one of my top 5 bands of all time.
So you've been broken and you've been hurt
Show me somebody who ain't
Yeah, I know I ain't nobody's bargain
But, hell, a little touchup and a little paint...
- Bruce Springsteen

they're making albums like mad, eh?
last i heard of em was Francis the Mute. didn't bother with Goliath/Bedlam... now there's a new one eh?
How does it compare to their earlier albums? Does it tell a story or is it just songs?

Its not a concept album like Frances or De-Loused, but it does tell a story.
The album is amazing, its relaxed, in comparison with their other stuff. (Bedlam in Goliath sucked, btw) It's got a very chill vibe, but its really great music.

I am fueled by filth and fury.
New Tom Morello project.
Street Sweeper Social Club

Stairway to Heaven.
Its overrated but still good.
My conscience, my pity, my hopes disappeared a long time ago (probably at Harvard).

Eli, the Barrow Boy; The Decemberists.
I've fallen in love.
"We know everything was built to expire..."
Exit Ten. They're British fellas. Catchy stuff.
QARPA - a sexy synth-rock band straight outta the Ukraine.
Bunch of downloadable tracks by them of Last.FM.
Also, the new PBK album.
This is why we can't have nice things.
listening to Modest Mouse - Ocean Breathes Salty.
Get to see them in August! so stoked.
I want you all to love this song as much as I do, but I doubt that'll happen:

I might have to check this out. Haven't they had a couple of side projects on the go this year too? I think Omar Rodriguez Lopez had a solo album and he's in another band.
The first few songs on the Trail Of The Dead album are amazing.
!
New Sparklehorse is really all that matters. Been waiting for this for three years or so, ever since he first announced that Danger Mouse was doing a full collaboration with him.
Also, digging the new Sunset Rubdown album and seeing them--hopefully--tomorrow night.

Ah Circa Survive god I haven't listened to them in so long.
Cross Out the Eyes - Thursday

I'm going to throw some more Smashing Pumpkins out there:
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
No hesitation, no delay
You come on just like special k
Just like I swallowed half my stash
I never ever want to crash.
Listening to a lot of Amon Tobin recently, loving it. Especially Supermodified, the way he uses jazz samples is incredible.
