What are you listening to right now?
Listening to Jane's Addiction in the car made me want to hear Summertime Rolls:
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
Grey Daze. Nostalgia.
Smashing Pumpkins - Soma
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
Prodigy
Radiohead
Muse
Muse is a wicked 3 piece. Reminds me of a poor man's Radiohead, but that isn't a bad thing. The singer plays some difficult riffs while singing. A very melodic yet heavy band.
Right now, I'm hearing that Akon fuck and others shit all over Wu Tang's C.R.E.A.M. and it's pretty appalling.
why does everyone compare muse to radiohead? i don't get that, they're different to me. anyway, i've been jamming the sounds' new album. it's very good, they do some cool stuff with guitars. i don't know if anyone here listens to them though.
Step back. Evaluate. Recognize.
As I get older, I appreciate more and more just how fucking rad-ass Cyndi Lauper was and still is...
Word to your mother.
Listen to this man.
* How did you kids post those cool widgets from Last.Fm?
I love Cyndi Lauper so hard.
Hjertebarn - Heart Child
So pretty. <3
Hun forklæder sig
Og stjæler natten
EDIT_
Doesn't hurt that the woman singing is absolutely beautiful.

She definitely has the Scandinavian look.
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. Protest The Hero. Silversun Pickups. They Might Be Giants. The Number Twelve Looks Like You.
Remove your brain. Place it in the machine. Perpetuate the American Dream.
lately a lot of the songs i listen to have arabic sections. they're lovely. the first is a little hard, the second is a wish and a daydream.
Isa ruhu-lah 'alaihis-salat was-salam
kul-anaya fikr minh ka
abadan ahatmam enna ajab
hayyaalal falal qad qamadis alah
Haqq: la illaha il Allah!!
The Pixies have come up again and I'm making coffee.
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
God I love the version of this song from The Last Waltz. From around 1:50 until the end, I just never see anyone who loves what they do that much and with that much enthusiasm. The yodelling part at 3:06 is awesome, too.... yes. Yodelling.
(Or yodeling.... however you spell it.)
Revolutionary Road soundtrack. Of course.
look, mgmt finally made a video for 'kids'. it's nuts too, those kooky freaks.
The Cinematic Orchestra - To Build A Home
Where has this song been hiding?

“...There are so many ways of being despicable it quite makes one's head spin. But the way to be really despicable is to be contemptuous of other people's pain. You ought to have some apprehension that the man you see before you was once even younger than you are now and arrived at his present wretchedness by imperceptible degrees.”
-James Baldwin
This:

Gwynyth and I were singing this in the car.
Good coffee is like drinking Rock and Roll.
Im listening to a new Clubtrack called Wet Dream, its awesome. Dont know who its by.
I think it's because it's very easy to hear Radiohead's influence in most of Muse's songs. Me, i'm a fan of both and don't mind them being a poor man's Radiohead, because a poor man's Radiohead is still 90% better than everything else.

AMEN.

Now only use four letter words,
Writing prose.
Anything Goes.

Muse have been stuck with the 'poor man's Radiohead' label since their first album but since then they've diverged quite a lot, so people who've gotten into them more recently don't get the comparison.
Recently I've been listening to a lot of hip-hop, mostly stuff from the Definitive Jux label. 'I Phantom' by Mr Lif is incredible.

"That's just a terrible, terrible, terrible... terrible 'That's Amore'. You have failed conclusively! It's over! And there is nothing that you can do, here in this room that can turn that around. Nothing you can do that can make up for what you just did to 'That's Amore'."
"Well, my mother liked it a whole lot."
"Your mother was wrong!"
I dig it.

Somebody want to tell me how the hell to embed videos...doesn't seem to be the ol' copy and paste that I'm used to.
There's a button for videos [Next to the button for images]. Enter the video's URL, tadaaa.
This song sort of continues from the song I previously posted here. [To Build A Home]
The Cinematic Orchestra - That Home
Where the doors are moaning all day long,
Where the stairs are leaning dusk 'till dawn,
Where the windows are breathing in the light,
Where the rooms are a collection of our lives,
This is a place where I don't feel alone
This is a place that I call my home...
I wish the song was much longer.
Thanks, Imke. I have been listening to The Cinematic Orchestra for the last hour. Totally perfect for this Sunday morning.

You're welcome! It really is. I should get more by them.
EDIT_
I'm also listening to Closure In Moscow quite a lot still. It's catchy and I enjoy it.
Favorite song by them at the moment:
Arecibo Message.
hey i wasn't knocking radiohead or muse, i like both of those guys, especially radiohead.
Emilie Simon - Alicia.
Ahhh, French. <3
Tickets sold out three weeks in advance of her Philly show, so mad I missed it...
So you've been broken and you've been hurt
Show me somebody who ain't
Yeah, I know I ain't nobody's bargain
But, hell, a little touchup and a little paint...
- Bruce Springsteen

Bush! Nice, Jake. I heard Swallowed this AM on the way into work. Been humming it all day now.
