What are you listening to right now?
The new Converge album Axe To Fall, very good, their best since Jane Doe in my opinion. Less dissonant and more grooves. A lot of Tom Waits as well, mainly Alice and Rain Dogs. Also re-discovered the Fantomas remix of Bjork song Where Is the Line, you have never heard anything like it.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
Guilt By Association - From the cradle to the stage.
There is no proper way to cope, no everlasting grace.
Just a flame on a river floating away.
Today I splashed out and bought the new DJ Spooky album for a fiver on amazon. It's really weird, a lot more classical and rock influence than his other jazz-orientated stuff. Seems pretty good, particularly for a concept album. It was only after I downloaded it that I found out the actual CD comes with a bonus DVD with a fucking Dziga Vertov movie on it, dammit!

I just finished listening to Flight of the Conchords, it just makes me so happy!
Now I'm listening to Muse- Black Holes and Revelations.
I'm listening to Modeselektor in preparation for seeing them tomorrow night!!
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
Me rikey.
Also, this song, sometimes, makes me want to cry. It's raining right now and it feels like a good thing to listen to. Especially if i were crying. Which i am?
Depressing, but so pretty: Rome - Herbstzeitlose
I've been listening to Cage The Elephant's album. It's awesome. They are now one of my favorite bands.
"A celibate clergy is an especially good idea, because it tends to suppress any hereditary propensity toward fanaticism." -Carl Sagan
"Am I cruel? Probably. Is she an idiot? Yes." -jane s.
The Blue Notebooks by Max Richter
The album features some British actress reading Kafka.
Shadow Journal:
It's that bitch, Tilda Swinton!
But, yeah, Max Richter's the knees of bees.
So yesterday I downloaded Rome's newest album, Flowers From Exile, [I was unaware it came out in June, geez!] and I like it mucho. Especially this song: The Secret Sons of Europe. I was very pleasantly surprised by the music, love it.
I like these Rome fellows. I've been listening to them all morning.
They are good, that's why. I'll be listening to them again soon as well.
They might even be my new favorite band of the month.
Wow. That was really good, Imke. Unexpectedly so
EDIT_
Dammit!
Do you think I have crappy taste in music?
haha, No! I heard one of their songs that you posted the other day, and liked it, but this one was a lot better. So I wasn't expecting this level of awesome!
SURPRISE!
*-ü-*
But, yeah, Max Richter's the knees of bees.
Oh yeah I love that guy, have you checked out his more recent album- 24 Post Cards? All the tracks were designed to be used as ringtones.

I think i actually have you to thank for showing him to me.
And, yeah, i've that album. Had no idea about the ringtones. So very cool.

Ohh yeah, in the modern composer thread.
At the moment I'm listening to rare recordings by Albert Ayler, I found this boxset in the library:

!
I have no idea what this means.
That he's better than other people, 'cause he liked them from the start and didn't just get into them when the band suddenly got big.
EDIT_
OROROR, that My Chemical Romance wasn't "emo" [whatever the hell that is] when they first started out.

Haha, okay. Sounds so weird to say that you liked something before it existed.

i was simply taking the piss out of all those elitists that get on their high horse about liking a band before they were big. fuck. if you really liked them, you'd be happy that they are getting the recognition they deserve. anyway, i used to be the former type--now i couldn't give less of a fuck if i wanted to.
anyway, they are just a bunch of comic book nerds that played fast songs about vampires and shit (before twilight)
I agree, matt. Fame doesn't make a band worse.
i need a gif. because that comment just went so beautifully with your sig. i want one! where on earth do you find these things anyway?
I'm watching a Kraftwerk on BBC iplayer and I just watched a documentary about Krautrock, that was some damn good stuff.

Zombie Zombie. Not to be confused with Zombi.
If you like John Carpenter, experimental electronic disco music and stop motion G.I. Joe, enjoy!

Quincaneras were the greatest part of high school.

great aussie dude. also the singer for an, i guess you'd say, alt-rock band called jebadiah. never liked them much though. this country/folk/acoustic stuff suits him way more. very dylanesque. which is never not good.

Listening to Sufjan Stevens new album The BQE, so far it's not an album I'm going to add to my Sufjan Stevens collection.
Stand out track so far is Movement III: Linear Tableau with Intersecting Surprise.
Almost forgot how awesome this song is:
ViaSecretDramatrons. Good stuff. Hard to describe. Kind of weird shoegaze, ambient metal stuff. A little industrial.
Ahh, music I listened to some years ago:
<3
I don't listen to a lot of there stuff, Imke, but I like them.
House. Ministry Of Sound. Anyone?
