What are you listening to right now?
So what have you guys been listening to recently?
I'm loving the new Animal Collective album, and that's rekindled my interest in them so I've gone back through their older stuff.
There's also a few good, recent jazz albums that I've been listeing to-
Kinsmen, by Rudresh Mahanthappa.
Consequences, by John Escreet
Harmonic Disorder, by Matthew Shipp.
!
I'm listening to things that inspire the main character in my book, since I'm constantly in "that" state of mind:
-Slipknot - All Hope is Gone (the album)
-Devildriver - Not all who wonder are lost, Horn of Betrayel, These fighting words (which is the song I imagine at the end scene of my novel, which is yet to be written!)
-Five Finger Death Punch - Just about any of the energetic songs by these guys
-Marilyn Manson - Eat me, Drink me (the album)
-Sarah Ravenscroft - What's the world come to (a theme used in the episodic failure, SiN Episodes - a very inspiring song)
My music selection might be simple, but it's what I like.
edit: Oooh. Manson's "If I was your vampire" inspires also... "This is where it starts, this is where it will end." Sorry, I have a busy mind.
The last week and a half i've only listened to these four albums

“Those who argue that art and philosophy are proof of human worth neglect to mention that, in the scheme we have devised, artists and philosophers are powerless and largely without prestige. Art, music, and philosophy are merely poignant examples of what we might have been had not the priests and traders gotten hold of us.” - George Carlin
