Watching the old ones, there is a LOT of potential there for this new one. I'll definitely be checking out the first one to see what they're going to do with it.
Didn't that BSG go with the "sexy bad-ass babe as cylons" thing? I really hope they don't stoop to that in this new show. That completely killed any interest I had in ever seeing any of those episodes.

yeah, they were lizards in human masks and trying to steal al our water, then trying to harvest people for food, then it turns out their spaceship was a nuclear bomb and were about to set it off.
It'll be interesting to see what it is they are trying to get from us in this new show. My money is on they need people to convert into fuel because desire for oil and fuel are BAD nowadays.

I'd imagine even if the show is a hit, they'll at least get her back on Lost for one episode, maybe just a scene or two in one episode, but still.
I can't imagine them doing the whole final year without her at all.

Ms. Baccarin is reason enough for me to give this series a try.

anyway, i remember watching the old version and i liked it. it sucks being old enough to remember the "twist" and not getting all excited about this remake since i already know where it's going to lead.

I'm hoping that they've got something different lined up for this one though. I guess they're still lizards, but there's plenty of other directions they can go that would be a surprise.

I doubt they got the balls to do it, but I'd like to see them go through the entire first episode without them even showing any of the aliens. And then as the very last shot of the night have the bit where her face shows up on the huge video bottom of the ship. There's more than enough of a story there for them just to show how everyone reacts to these spaceships showing up out of nowhere and building all the human characters up, but I don't think the network would let them get away with that.

30 minute review: This is way way too good a cast to have to be put through this terrible of writing and awful story-telling. It sure looks pretty though, huh?

That head V alien, when you squint your eyes, she looks like Michael Cera. Though I'd bang them both.

My favorite worst part of the whole thing: Guy on the news:"It's been three weeks since the visitors arrived..." cue to banner across the bottom of the screen that says :"three weeks later..."
I literally facepalmed.

I didn't even get to see that. Stupid city election results blocked the entire bottom of the screen for the entire show.

I honestly thought it was OK. If anything, my complaint would be that they did way too much in a single episode. Granted we already know some of the reveals, but they did like 4 in the first episode alone. If you're trying to make an ongoing series, you don't need to burn through this stuff so fast.

We didn't need to know the black dude was an alien yet, it's obvious that they would eventually work the angle that some of them are here to help, not to mention it would have been a much more awesome reveal to find out later. Like they did in BSG, when you realized that Sharon was a Cylon.

We didn't need to have a fight between the resistance and aliens yet, especially a fight where an alien ends up dead and Juliette doesn't even consider taking the corpse for evidence.

They should have just left it with her going to the meeting, and being convinced with the photos, and her son joining the pro-V group.

I'll watch a few more. From what I gather they are only airing 4, then picking back up in the spring, so these first 4 better do a good job of making people want more.

I would have to agree with your review. Pretty boring. I'd rather go watch Signs, Independence Day, or District 9.

This is probably the best thing to hear. If they do it that way, then that Juliet should be able to get back on Lost for a couple episodes before starting this back up.

I doubt it. They probably just started filming. They probably wouldn't wrap until sometime in early March.

Oh right, I see on wikipedia the air date of the first episode is January next year. For some reason I was under the impression that it would be starting in the next few weeks.

The producers have already said Juliet's character is pivotal to the final season, that there are things about her that have led the events on the Island to just where they are now in ways we have yet to understand... so she is definitely still a part of that show. I don't know how/when the filming of the additional episodes of "V" is happening, I thought they were filming the whole first season, and then only airing the first bunch and then picking up where they left off... But I dont really understand how any of the Hollywood schedules work. Long and short is, Juliet has not given up mysterious island happenings for mysterious lizard alien happenings...
