I found a .gif of that ONE SCENE from the finale.
Too bad I'm such a nice guy, otherwise I'd set it as my sig.

I found a video that a guy posted before the finale about all the clues in episode 12. And he totally figures everything out before the last episode even aired. It's really amazing.
I'll post a link, but it has MAJOR spoilers. Even the title is a spoiler so don't even go to this page if you've not seen it yet.

I'm enjoying The Wire more. There's some good characters, I'm liking Omar. I heard that the first season isn't the greatest but the next ones get better and better.
I've watched half of the first season of The Wire like 3 times. I always lose interest.
I've watched the first three episodes of The Walking Dead. That show is way better than I thought it was going to be. Whoever the director is, he's doing a great job.
I'm pretty sure it's Frank Darabont, the guy who directed The Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption.

Season 2 premiere tomorrow!

I think he just did the first episode and then it was other folks for the rest. Hopefully he'll be doing the first one for season 2 as well, because his episode was far and away the best.
The previews look like they're going to try and bring it more back in line with the comic, which will be frickin' bad ass!
I just saw that it's an hour and a half episode tonight. Score!
Also, all 6 episodes start at 2:30 leading up to it! Marathon!
I enjoyed the Breaking Bad finale - Walt is capable of doing some fucked up things! That series where he let Jane choke on her own vomit still gives me nightmares.
Anyone else watching Dexter? I've really missed it, even if it is a little corny.
Dexter is awesome! This season looks like it will be great. The whole religion thing is really interesting.
And Nate, I really hope they get back to the comics' story lines. I can't wait for Michonne and Tyrese to show up.

Zombies are so boring. I don't think there's anything new to be seen from zombies stories.
I've always hated zombie movies, but this comic is different. It's not about the zombies. It's really about the characters. I can't explain it.

yeah, for an hour episode they might only have like 10-15 minutes worth of actual zombie stuff.
Hattie I am watching Dexter. It's pretty good so far I think.
Whatever Whore!
I want a movie that brings zombies back to what they were originally supposed to be. Mystically/magically revived dead people.

Also, I'm really surprised no one took advantage of the wizard/witch craze of Harry Potter by making a show about young witches and wizards. They've done it for everything else, like zombies, vampires, and werewolves.

You know what's another good zombie show?
High School of the Dead.
Lots of nice, gory zombie action. And boobage. Lots of boobage.

Really?? I had no idea. Well, I guess it was inevitable.

Serpent and the Rainbow.
My friend said the same thing. I will tell you the same thing I told him. They are ALL about the characters!
*It's always about people coming together, trying to survive, having to follow certain rules to live.
*There's always someone who goes stir crazy and decides to not follow the rules and gets himself and/or others killed.
*There's always a couple that was on the rocks before the infestation and their emotions are heightened from the infestation.
*There's always a parent looking for their kid.
*Sometimes there's even an asshole who takes advantage of the outbreak and uses everyone for his own gain.
(NOTE: none of these things are about the zombies directly)
So yeah, everyone's free to enjoy what they do, but zombie stories are all the same to me.
Christina hates horror shows and movies. And I was over her house this weekend and wanted to watch the last 3 episodes of Season 1. She sat there and watched it with me. She liked it because it was basically a drama - about the characters. And like Nate said - the zombie screen time is very minimal. It's all done very well.

You're right about all of those things, but the thing is, all of those things can be pretty damn compelling stories if they're done right. If you've got great actors and writers, they can be jaw-droppingly great.
What stinks is so many of those movies that come out that are done by Junior High Schoolers that decide "Let's do a zombie movie!" and no one knows what they're doing and they tuck right behind every one of those cliches.
The one cliche that Walking Dead ignores might be what sets it apart so much, in that, No One is ever safe. Maybe the TV show will water things down to keep viewers, I don't know, but in the comic they've had a lot of main characters, not just throw-away red-shirts, that have been killed by zombies and alivies. There's no "Innocent" little kid that always manages to escape. Just off the top of my head, there's been at least 6 kids killed in the comic so far.
I'd say this, if you're wanting something "new or different" in the zombie genre, go out and just try the first trade paperback of the comic, if you're really leery download it for free somewhere on line and try it.
Not likely. It's AMC. I have respect for that network.
I watched the first episode, wasn't bad, but not really anything new. Also watched the first episode of season two last night. Pretty good, I guess.
High School of the Dead.
Lots of nice, gory zombie action. And boobage. Lots of boobage.

This was shamefully arousing and equally hysterical.

The entire show is like that. It's shameless.
Half of an entire episode is devoted to all the girl characters taking a bath together and playing with each others tits.

I'm the one that's ashamed, haha.

I watched the first 4 episodes of that Person of Interest show today. Still can't make up my mind about it, so I guess I'll give it 4 more episodes to convince me one way or the other.
I watched the first two episodes and it seemed like it was way not as good as it should be considering who's involved and writing it. I was disappointed. Let me know if it gets better.

Season premiere of The Walking Dead was pretty great. The previews for Hell on Wheels looks pretty good. I'm always interested in westerns.

Yeah, it did not have a very good first two episodes. Made it seem like it was just going to be another Killer of the Week show, but after 4 of them they're starting to build an over-arching mythology to it.
Alphas? has anyone watched it/watching it now and would recommened it?

Just a flame on a river floating away.
I had a bone to pick with that first episode of Walking Dead. I thought it was great...if it was an hour episode. They dragged out looking for that kid for an extra 30 minutes for, the only reason I could see, more adspace on the premiere.
That Hell on Wheels I want to check out more. I'm hoping it's something to do with the Trans-Continental Railroad.
How great would that be to have two different story lines, one from each coast, constantly driving towards each other till you get a final season of them meeting/clashing!
Damn, that would be pretty cool.

I haven't ever seen it except for previews. Kinda made me squinch my face up. Looks like a low budget X Men were they couldn't legally call them mutants say thay just came up with "Alpha."
The Professor X dude is usually pretty good in everything I've seen him in though.
I need to get me a JJ Abrams type of TV gig. Where I just come up with the ideas and then let other people do all the writing and hard stuff.

I actually felt the same way. It seemed like they were deliberately stalling and not actually doing anything just to make me angry. I didn't think of the ad space thing, though.

Alphas is awesome. It's like Heroes if Heroes was any good.

So it's like Heroes season 1?

Cheers Nathaniel. I recorded the first episode so I'll give it ago and hopefully it's worth a watch at least.
The Walking Dead looks cool. The first season was so much better than I first thought. The storyline kept your attention and moved nicely. It could have easily been another generic zombie fest.
Also Dexter is awesome, the new season looks fantastic. I just hope they keep up the level of writing and plot they have offered so far.

Me and my mom have been watching the Ringer because Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of her patients, it's pretty intense. I'm not sure what to think about it.
What does your mom do?
Dentist... right? I think I remember one of our first conversations being about how I never floss and how I totally should... and baking soda.... How do I remember all of this??
Si vis pacem, para bellum
Dental hygienist, so she cleans teeth.
It's so weird when I hear about celebrities doing... normal things, like going to the dentist.
For some reason I have a hard time thinking of them as human.

I hear they poop, too.

I cannot help but be impressed by the fact that Jaz's mom touches Buffy the Motherfucking Vampire Slayer's teeth with regularity.
It's just twice a year. Maybe celebrities go 4 times a year.

Walking Dead this Sunday!
