TV Talk
There are already three other reasons to watch AMC: Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and the red head from Mad Men's knockers.
that's four reasons.
unless she's, like, had a mastectomy due to cancer or something.
in which case, I apologize for being so insensitive.
My favorite show (when it's in season). It doesn't matter which season you start with, as each is a new slate of patients, but do watch from the beginning of said season.
I think Imke aside from myself watch In Treatment and have chatted about it a few times. Furley is right it really doesn't matter which season you start because the show focuses on one character each episode. I think I enjoy that the most about the show, you don't really see the experiences they go through but you see how they process those scenarios and how they deal with their individual issues.
And yes, Gabriel Burnes is awesome. ( I hate spelling names wrong but i'm too medicated/tired to check to see if i spelled right tonight.)
My current favorite shows are In treatment, Bored to death, East bound & down, Hung, Spartacus, Man vs Wild
My nuetral shows are Dexter, Californication, Boardwalk empire, True blood
My Hated shows are Mythbusters, Pen and tellers : bullshit, and dog the bounty hunter.
I watched the first few episodes of in treatments first season and picked back up on episode 79, i watched all episodes of bored to death love the show jason and zack are my favorite, i am trying to get into east bound & down i missed the first season but its still entertaining(FUCK BIG RED !), Hung is good and i like tom jane but the show seems like an excuse for actresses to show they're tits like they want them frozen in time when they were in there prime or something. speaking of tits spartacus's season 2 is in talk i heard. Man vs Wild - i never thought id watch a show to just see if a guy will eat and drink disgusting stuff but there i am every new episode watching the whole hour.
I hate PATB and mythbusters you watch to much of those shows your gonna lose your chin and grow a moustache and a ponytail and become a mute, and Dog the bounty hunter GOD i love to hate this show i hate everyone on it but his wife the most, racist cow i won't turn down a plumper but shes unfuckable, dog should get a medal for relieving the world of her - leland his uncle and the new daughter they're ok but guilty by association and thus i hate them too. it's the only show i watch and root for the people to get hurt whenever dog and his other bounty hunters get in a fight and punches are being thrown i wish for a good one to be landed on the bounty hunters but mainly the over tanned cow who they can't fit in frame.
For 85c ill tell you if you stink
for $5 ill tell you what the stink resembles
and for $10 ill tell you if it's permanent.
gee, rita dies? thanks!

Yeah the trinity killer offed her but Dexter didn't find out until after he killed the trinity killer so there's no way to get revenge for Rita's death. It was the end of season 4.
yeah, you know it's bad when your promos are worse than election commercials.
I liked the commercials. they made me giggle.
Also, I'm going to have to skip over any post in this thread with the word 'Dexter' in it. I'm a few seasons behind.

holy shit, sorry that got spoiled for you!

Holy shit! Did you see It's Always Sunny this week? It was genius. Maybe I'm alone here, but I haven't laughed that hard in a LONG time. Rickety Cricket wrote the ep. He's usually pretty solid. I'd see Lethal Weapon 5.
And the plot plant with the kid who's into ICP, great, great, sitcom stuff.

I thought there was a thread for this, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, CAPRICA fans: SyFy is running the last five unaired episodes post-cancellation tomorrow early evening. I just happened to see an article about it, otherwise I'd have missed it (came out on DVD last month, though) because for some reason they're not tagged as new episodes in my DVR's listings... The show wasn't quite what I wanted it to be, but still, RIP.
I thought battlestar galactica was supposed to be one of their flagship dealios. Why would they cancel it?
BSG, definitely. For this spinoff, though, it didn't get enough ratings to justify the production costs, I think. But they did greenlight a two-hour pilot for another spinoff called Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, that takes place between the two series and will have more space battles and political intrigue and shit (what was missing from Caprica). So we'll see.
Californication was pretty good and Sasha/Mia is seriously hot. Where has she been my entire life??
Also, i can't wait for Skins series 5, i feel like a little kid about it.
Just finished the first season of Californication on Netflix. I have never felt so connected to a character.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
I'm thinking about adding Community to my DVR list of shows to record. I've only seen like 3 episodes of it so far, the pilot, the halloween one and half the Christmas one, but it looks like a solid show with some good characters and the guy that would be the central star on any other sitcom seems to be just another character that gets shit on just as much as anyone else.
Also, I just checked, and the only current tv shows I've got set on my DVR are The Office, Fringe and House. And House is coming close to getting taken off for just being too repetitive. I'll probably just record the season premieres and finales of it anymore.
That's how I felt when I first watched the show. Some of his monologues/rants really hit some kind of nerve inside of me, especially the discussion he has in the office with Felicia in season 3:
It’s my purgatory, really, inner drinks, whatever. I’m never really all that interested, but I find myself telling her how beautiful she is anyway. ‘Cause it’s true, all women are, in one way or another. You know, there’s always something about every damn one of you, it’s a smile, a curve, a secret. You ladies really are the most amazing creatures, my life’s work. But then there’s the morning after, a hangover, and the realization that I’m not quite as available as I thought I was the night before. And then she’s gone, and I’m haunted by yet another road not taken.
That just does my head in.
I'm dying here. I fucking love this show. I've seen the first three episodes of season 4, which is, I think, all that has aired over your way. Sometimes I wish they'd just come out all in one go. I much prefer watching episodes back-to-back.
Speaking of which, I watched season 3 of True Blood over the duration of yesterday. It was badass. Anna Paquin is gorgeous and I just melt over southern accents. And she dresses up as a biker chick, in leather pants and wears a black bob at one stage and I think something inside of me shifted. And you got to see her boobs again, which was a nice little treat.
I don't understand how the MTV Skins can suck so bad but the new season of the UK one is amazing. I thought it was the same writers but i guess not.

I'm a big backer of the show. You might be let down because the ones you saw where some of the best ones thus far. The paintball episode from season one is epic, though.

They had a pretty good one last night. I don't imagine Chevy Chase, in all his wildest dreams, back when he was on SNL and joking about people sending him drugs would ever have thought he'd see a day where he'd be on a prime time tv show with 50 kids yelling "We Love Drugs!" at him.
Tried watching that Tod Margret show and gave up on it after 2 episodes.
Shame too because I've always thought David Cross was a better comic actor than a stand up. But all the characters in that show are just schizophrenic or something. He goes from a bumbling fool to creepy psycho to hapless sadsack and a bunch of other personalities that there's no real character there. I caught myself yawning through it way more than even just cracking a smile, let alone a laugh. oh well.
I don't know why I still watch "the Office". I used to like it a lot (both original and US version) but that was a long time ago.

You can't spell manslaughter without laughter.
I feel the same way. But I will continue to watch!
Si vis pacem, para bellum
Yup.. Will Ferrell is going to guest star in 4 episodes, the last one without Carrell (if my sources are right) and then the new boss will take over.
I have to see that!

The Office has definitely had good moments lately, even if it is not as strong as it used to be. I can't imagine I'll be watching much after Carrell leaves though.
I guess TV Land has forgotten about Mayberry RFD. Or what about those shows that Red Foxx and John Ritter were doing when they died?
You don't keep doing a show without the guy that the show is about, you big dummies!
To be honest, I think the show will improve without Carrell. The guy's portrayal just isn't funny anymore. I don't laugh anymore. I just cringe. Both him and Dwight have been taken way over the top. I'm just sticking to Kevin for humor and the Jim+Pam thing for feel-good drama.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
Yeah, The Office definitely isn't as funny as it once was. I think after season three it started to drop off. It's still feel-good though, and it summons a few good laughs. It's not awful. I'm surprised they're continuing without Carrell. That's the first I've heard of him leaving, but it makes sense.
I still really want them to do an Australian version. It would be hysterically good. I used to work in an office, sort of. Similar deal to The Office, really. It was a shipping providore company. We supplied good for the ships that were porting in Newcastle Harbour. Anyway, there was a workshed, where I first started, and it had an office off to the side. And I ended up getting promoted into the sales department after a while. And all the characters in there perfectly fit The Office's character archetypes.
And Aussie humour, on top of that, just fucking worked. It made a boring-ass job kind of fun. We had a sort-of-hot-but-not-really-but-definitely-sometimes-and-when-there's-nothing-else-to-look-at secretary girl that I used to flirt my ass off with. A very dorky salesman. A boss that thought he was legitimately cool, and continued to come to me for validation. etc. etc.
Wow, I missed quite a thread here.
On topic: I enjoyed the British Office. Never quite got the appeal of the US one. Once Pam and Jim got together, I saw no reason to watch anymore.
Also I don't watch new episodes of the Simpsons anymore. It just pisses me off how unfunny and irrelevant it's become.
Steven Carrell is the only reason I watched a few episodes of The Office! He is neat.
I forget which thread it was I was yammering about how I finally found a good fantasy baseball team name only to not be playing this year, with Jobu's Rum.
Anyways, they've been replaying Ken Burn's Baseball the past few weeks and now I got two more great names!
Merkel's Boner and Snodgrass's Muff!
I love Dexter, Heroes, Lost, and Arrested Development.
I like Rob and Big, Fantasy Factory, The Office, and Burn Notice.
I was the biggest fan of Lights Out. Till of course those bastards just cancelled it.
Not sure if you can watch UK tv online in the US but in 40 mins on More4 (http://www.channel4.com/programmes/village-of-the-dolls) they're airing a documentary about a guy whose brain was damaged in a vicious attack and now seeks refuge in a World War II themed-fantasy world in his garden populated by dolls representing his family and friends.

... looks amazing.

Game of Thrones started. I finally got to watch it today. It was pretty slow for a while, but it was pretty true to the book. Some of the casting choices are shit, like Sansa, she's so ugly! But some are great, like Eddard and Arya. I wasn't sure about Dani, but I think I like the girl, and she has a great figure. I don't think Jamie is blonde enough, but I think the guy is good otherwise.
I'm curious to know if they're using real wolves or some type of huskie.
Anyone else watch it?

Two things:
1. It's cool to see Big Black back with Rob Dyrdek.
2. The scene on The Office where Michael proposes to Holly was one of the best things ever put on TV.
1. It's cool to see Big Black back with Rob Dyrdek.
I agree. The show didn't have the same chemistry after he left. He came back and it was just awesome.
2. The scene on The Office where Michael proposes to Holly was one of the best things ever put on TV.
I never really watched the show, but I just watched it on Youtube, and I have to agree, it was quite amazing. And I knew that Steve Carell was leaving, but that was an epic way to reveal it.
Top Chef is one of my favorite shows ever. I love the host, Padma, I love the judges, the cooking, the challenges, learning about food, everything. Perfect show for me.

I am really not ready to say goodbye to Michael Scott this Thursday.

I did, although had never read the books before? Are they worth it?
I like it, it isn't to cliche yet is familiar. Has enough geek folk lore and boobies to keep me happy.

I do, there should be a separate thread for it, I think. Sansa isn't pretty, but she sure has this bitchy look she has in the books. Dany is my favourite character and they cast that visibly older lady that I don't like at all. In my opinion, Cersei and Ned are the best chosen.
I was really hoping that in the beginning of last week's Office, when they were handing out Dundee ballots, that they would've went to Creed's house and it was like a mansion and he was married to a supermodel.
I moved through the days like a severed head that finishes a sentence --- Amy Hempel
I was hoping they'd show Creed's place, too, but I like the mystery of the man. The Meredith part was pretty spot on, though.
Which season are you talking about? Because aren't they all like that?
I gave up on Real World after the first Las Vegas.
haha nice!
I always hated how they never spent enough time on the girls that I thought were hot. lol

I watch the newest The Real World season! It's definitely a good one, haha.

There are already three other reasons to watch AMC: Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and the red head from Mad Men's knockers.
Dexter is finally picking up a bit. For the rest of the season, I see Agent Doakes part 2 (the dude dating Debra) finding out about Lumen. But, since Dexter planted the evidence to make the police think the barrel killer was boyd fowler, Doakes part 2 will see Dexter with Lumen due to the intel from Robocop, and that all the victims are blonde women, and suspect Dexter is the embalming barrel killer.
You know, because he thinks Dexter killed Rita.
And now there are all sorts of blond chicks turning up dead.
And dexter is with a blond chick, who is living in his old house.
Or maybe I'm full of shit.
All I know is, long live Robocop!
