TV Talk
Watching that now. Finale after.

The one thing I never liked about House, and it bothered the hell out of me, is whenever they dressed him up like Johnny Depp. Graphic tees and bracelets? It always seemed forced as hell. Like, we get it. He's a cool guy. He plays electric guitar and... skateboards? Ugh, you kiddin' me?? This is the reason I don't watch TV. Those TV writers can be painful. It's a great show besides all that.

Man. Girls is my favorite show now.
Yeah I agree
I'm not sure if you are spam but i loved on the last episode how they explained a little bit about Adam, who i couldn't really stand, and now that i knew where he came from, i like him. He might be the coolest character on the show now. Also, the part where Hanna was talking to Tako the lesbian and Tako was like "It's spelled with a 'K'. I can tell when people think it's spelled with a 'C'." You can't write that stuff, really.
I'm ready for the season finale in Game of Thrones. Stupid production team, they could go with cheaper everything and make more episodes.
Wow. My reaction to the White Walkers: Daaaaaaaaamn. And now we wait for the third season, when things actually start to happen.
My reaction the the last episode of Mad Men:
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

I was slightly disappointed with the finale episode of Game of Thrones. Oh well!
Why?
I was hoping for something more/bigger to end the season.
The White Walkers aren't big enough? It's setting the scene for season 3, when things ACTUALLY start to happen.
Nothing happened, you just saw them walking.
I would've liked the White Walkers to be less zombie-ish as well. I realize I'm trying to rewrite the story, which is just silly, but I don't care for zombies whatsoever.
Oh well. I just wish they made more episodes. 10 isn't nearly enough, and the third book is even longer.

The zombies are not White Walkers. Those are Wights.

Irina, they are splitting the third book into two seasons.

Hahah, it is super confusing. It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to realize they were two different things while reading the books.

so what is this Girls show about, anyway? I need a new show to watch and I keep hearing the name pop up. It's HBO, right?
To everyone talking about Game of Thrones:
*ahem* Shut the fuck up. I will rip your throat out if you spoil season 2 for me.
It's a show about weirdos. And uncomfortable sex scenes. There hasn't been any "normal" sex on it yet.

Thanks for clearing that up!
When I was watching the episode I was thinking the old man was way cooler than the other ones who were more zombie-like.

hahah.. sold.
I just started watching it. It's definitely weird and hilarious.

Me too. It's rather embarrassing but Girls reminds me of my life (and friends) about 5 years ago.
Love Girls! There's elements of all of them I'm embarrassed to recognise in myself and people I know. I also hope they release a soundtrack, there's so many good songs in that show.
I love how they're all unabashedly themselves, no matter how weird and embarrassing it is. It's inspiring.
Girls sounds like something I would watch, and there are only a few episodes out. It's on HBO Romania too, but the tv is not in my room.
*proceeds to download all 8 episodes*
Lol, how long are these episodes? They downloaded in a couple of minutes.
They are quite short (just over 30mins each). You're so lucky you've got such a fast internet download speed! It took me about an hour to watch an episode as the streaming kept recalculating.
Did you guys read this very negative review of the first episode by a contributor at the Huffington Post? The debate that ensued in the comments box was quite interesting.
I downloaded all of them and I'm now watching episode 3. I like it so far, but indeed, all the sex is awkward so far.
There you go, super strong Internet - another advantage of staying here for my MA.
You'll have to come to England for a holiday instead!
I finished episode 2 and will probably battle with my internet to watch 3 this evening. I want to slap Hannah at times - although I'm sure that's kind of the point in her character. Jessa and Marnie are my favourites.

Wow. How annoying! I'd read some things pertaining to the all white cast of Girls before but this blog post is really irritating. A lot of the comments underneath were interesting. The blogger slags off the entire concept, says its nothing she can relate to and then bemoans the all white cast.
I don't think Girls promotes the characters as aspirational, they're often likeable but they are so flawed and I wouldn't want to be like them. I think the blogger has kind of misunderstood the concept. It's fair enough to not like the show but to be so vehemently against it for the wrong reasons is strange.
They're having Donald Glover on series, race problem solved!
What, do black people have to be in everything now? What about "black" shows like Tyler Perry's crap where the only white people are either retards or total dicks? It goes both ways.
It definitely does go both ways! You're right. I remember being really offended by the portrayal of white people in Kenan and Kel when I was younger. It would be nice to skip to the part where race really wasn't an issue at all and it doesn't matter what colour a character is because that character doesn't represent an entire culture.
Although I agree with her that it is a shame that POC and other minorities make up a very small part of Hollywood, her argument is silly. Upon watching the trailer I never thought that the show was supposed to encapsulate the lives of all girls living in NYC - it clearly focuses on a group of very privileged, educated but unworldly young women.
Jessa is great and has awesome hair.
Is this supposed to be the new Sex and the City? So far, that's what it sounds like.
Also, there will always, ALWAYS be that group that complains about an all white cast. It's annoying, but it's important. Just ignore them when things really aren't so bad.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
It's for guys too though. Sex and the City always seemed like a girls-only show to me.
I´ve never seen either, but the descriptions are very similar so far. I´ll probably never get around to seeing them anyway.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
I definitely agree with this too. And also POC get paid less than white stars, I remember seeing a list of hollywood's highest paid stars and Will Smith still didn't get paid as much as the white stars who at the time I didn't think we're even as popular as he was. This is what I mean though, it would be great if more lead men and women were POC and it wasn't such a big deal.
True Blood ROCKS!!! It is the best in TV. Sookie is smokin' hawwtttt!!!
Dexter and Teen Wolf is also awesome
I started watching The Wire with my boyfriend. Yes, I realize I'm a bit late on that. It's enjoyable so far.
I still haven't started watching that. I've been meaning to for years now.
Breaking Bad is back!
Hell yeah it is!
Speaking of...I kept telling my ex-husband he needed to watch it and he was like, yeah yeah maybe one day.
He just sent me a text message a little while ago saying I was right, it kicks fuckin ass (I tole you, mang). He watched the first two episodes online and now he's buying all the previous seasons.
It's pretty much my favorite series, ever.
I've been watching The Newsroom and I absolutely love it. I can't remember ever looking forward to a show this much. I don't have HBO though, so I have to watch it online.

I think I'm the only one who watched the ghey little Swan Song thing before the episode.
