TV Talk
I remember what two of them were. Curb Your Enthusiasm is without a doubt one of them. It looks like it could be the greatest season of that show ever. If it is, I kinda hope it is the final season.
The other one is this new show that's going to be on right after it, Bored to Death. Zach Galifinakis made it a lock to at least check out, but after seeing some behind the scenes stuff it looks like it could be good too. Although, the to lead guys look almost identical, so it could get confusing on telling them apart.
Also, Eastbound & Down, but I don't think that starts until later in the year.
Two new shows are starting in a few weeks time: Glee and Nurse Jackie. Either of them worth my time?
I watched the first episode of Glee and thought it was pretty funny. If you like some singing and dancing, give it a try.
A famous British magician/hypnotist/trickster called Derren Brown just predicted the winning lottery numbers live on TV. That was by FAR the weirdest thing that I have EVER seen today. It'll be interesting to see how he did it, it's revealed on Friday.
In other exciting news - NEW SERIES OF PEEP SHOW! Starting later this month.
!
How do you take a kick-ass show like Sons of Anarchy and make it better?

...add a little Rollins...awwwwww yeah.
Wow, he looks badass.
He should just change his name to Mr. Scowl.
Imke did you like In Treatment?
I really enjoyed it. It's not over the top or extraordinary but it's interesting to see the progress of each patient and Gabriel Byrne's development as well.
Were you able to relate to his patients? As far as empathizing?

Audrey, I'm still watching episodes from the first season. I'm at episode.. 26 or something now.
I really really like watching it. Like you said, the progress of each patient and seeing how everything develops, it's fascinating to me.
Not sure I really relate to anything, but I really feel for the couple. Always looking forward to their episodes. I like each patient, but perhaps the young girl the least.
i haven't seen the first season but i did watch this past season and i found myself relating to each patient in someway.
Yeah I saw season two and I guess for me I could relate to their issues. I also think the actors do a great job...I don't want to give anything away but I really think you should watch season two.
I definitely will!
i became pretty obsessed with desperate housewives. it's nothing how i'd imagined it to be. it's classic storytelling, almost shakespearean. so they were showing season 2 on *cough*lifetime*cough* and all of a sudden they skipped ahead to season 5 because that's the dvd that's coming out i guess. what the hell, man. they did it right in the middle of the season. what about zach and paul?? betty and bree?? what about the other private detective, he's gonna come looking for monroe and caleb right?? why did that one lady who was taking care of zach kill mike's father-in-law??
it's really not fair.
Love Weeds! It has absolutely nothing to do with the small crush I may or may not have on Mary Louise Parker...
Have watched the first two series but haven't got round to the third yet and annoyingly it was left on quite a clifhanger, muchlike series 1 if I remember rightly? May just have to invest in the dvd soon.
Also, need to see series 3 of 30 Rock, thought the first two were brilliant, just gets better and better, especially with guests appearances too.
Has anyone seen The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman?
I miss that show
Is anyone else watching True Blood? It's definitely my guilty pleasure show right now. I think I'm on episode 9 of 12, season 1. I have to keep looking away any time someone gets their blood drawn/is injected.
There is hope, but not for us.
...add a little Rollins...awwwwww yeah.
oh wow. I'm going to have to watch this show now. Of course I don't know what it is or what channel its on. But if it has Rollins, I'm there.

Season finale was last night. It wasn't as good as the rest of the season, but then I was in a funky mood, so I could be wrong.

Sons of Anarchy, on FX - it's about a biker gang that basically owns this tiny California town. There's some upheaval as Jax, the son of the gang's founder, struggles with what direction to take the gang. He butts heads with the current leader (Ron Fucking Perlman!). His mom, (Katy Segal - Married with Children's Peg Bundy) is this reeaaaallly awesome, scheming, vicious, manipulative badass. She got pissed at a girl for wanting to date her son and broke her nose with a skateboard. She almost murdered his junkie ex, and she's pretty much ready to kill her own son if he tries to take the club down a more legit route instead of weapons trading.
Anyhoo. Yeah. Set your TiVo.
I don't have a tivo.

Get a Tivo!

Then clear your calendar and make sure youse in front of a TV on Tuesday nights, dayum.
Mad Men is great. The actors do a fine job and it's written very well. It's on sundays on AMC, it's the only show I remember to watch.

Season finale was last night. It wasn't as good as the rest of the season, but then I was in a funky mood, so I could be wrong.
Yes true blood has been my guilty pleasure. I really liked the finale. It had a couple things I didn't see coming...made me all fuzzy inside.
I just watched the Season 1 finale last night, and the identity of the killer made me so mad I cried a little bit and used my tiny creepy voice to express my displeasure.
There is hope, but not for us.

Me and some friends timed how far we could get into bad shows before turning them off. Entourage was the only show that lasted less time than True Blood.

I just started watching this show and I'm totally addicted to it, I'm about halfway through the first season.
I feel completely opposite to what you're saying. I hate the couple, I think they're both horrible people and their episodes aren't as interesting as the others. I think it's because they don't get as deep into the characters issues, they're just too busy bickering with each other. I actually quite like the girl. It's a fairly common character but they give real depth to it.
I'm loving the way that it works as individual episodes and as a whole, over-arching series.

Being Human
Its a show that aired on the BBC Three network. Involves three unique individuals looking to just hold on to living a ordinary human life. The difficulty involving them this is they're not human. Being as these three people being one a werewolf, the other a vampire and the last a poltergeist. Its a great show in my opinion. The werewolf is by the most tragic of the three. Buts a great character piece of a show delving in the nature of humanity and what it means to be human. The overall plot for the first season was involving vampires looking to take the forefront and take over the human race.
Now your vampire character is your typical vampire with a soul bit, which could be boring but it is portrayed fairly well by the actor. and the Poltergeist is one that at first can be annoying but eventually comes to her own.
I would recommend watching the show. It already aired the last episode for the season which was short with 6 one hour episodes. But it has a great deal of comedic timing with the characters in the show and deals with the difficult task of creating a world where these people will be seen as tragedies.
If anything else download whichever way you can to watch. Its in the process of making its second season. So you have something to look forward to.
The season premier of House is on right now. I love this show so much.

that 'hoarders' show is fun to watch i noticed. it's almost gripping, like the lady with all the dead cats in her garage. or that one lady who didn't want to throw away her 7/11 slurpee cup. oh wait, they all didn't want to throw away their 7/11 slurpee cup.
Hell yes. This show is insane. The cat one was horrible.

Did anyone see that episode of Metalocalypse where the band's parents came? That cat lady looks exactly like murderface's grandmother. When I saw her I was like "Holy shit."I took a picture of her. I'll try to post it later.

I'm just watching House. Seeing him rap is...odd.
!
At least they didn't overblow it.
Too, that whole episode was kind of strange to me. I mean, it wasn't bad. Very watchable [as always], but i found aspects of it hard to swallow. Mostly though, i'm curious to see where they take this. I mean, if House is better or trying to get better, where's the conflict? Am i supposed to become more invested in Taub or Foreman and Thirteen? And, really, what're they without House? Who're any of the characters without House being House? If you take away House's misanthropy and snideness, i think you're left with Grey's Anatomy [which i've never seen, but i imagine it'd be relatively similar. Maybe ER?].
And the preview for the rest of the season makes me assume that there's not much changing that happens, so what was the point? To show that he has the capacity to not be an asshole?
I don't know. Strange choice and not what i was hoping for the episode. My favorite episodes are the ones where House is kind of in and out of reality [think season two or four finale]. And the relationship and all that was a bit, i don't know, contrived and obvious.
Regardless, i'm still with House, likely always will be. Just curious to see what happens.
I had pretty mixed feelings about it.
On one hand I thought the asylum type stuff was pretty lame and all the characters were massive stereotypes. I also really didn't like the quick fix at the end, it seemed like they felt there should be some of the old House Magic in there (and it happened to advance the other plot). The thing is, House Magic was always vaguely plausible because it relied on his medical genius. The curing of the catatonics made no sense.
On the other hand, I really liked the dynamic between House and the chief of the ward and there's just something about Franka Potente that I really like.
I'm not sure where they can take the series from here. In the first few seasons it really seemed like the show had something to say, it had some pretty dark observations about human nature. The running plots were pretty interesting too. Now they seem to have run out of steam.
I think as long as Hugh Laurie sticks with the show it'll always be enjoyable but not something I'd go out of my way to watch.
!
Whenever they make a big change, they return to the old format within a couple episodes. Like when House's led got fixed and he was running everywhere. ,That didn't last. The largest change they've ever mad was replacing the people who work under House. I think that House himself will be back to normal in no time.
Another possibility is that all the progress he made was just an act he put on just to get out of there. I'm pretty sure that's what happened last time he was in rehab.
"A celibate clergy is an especially good idea, because it tends to suppress any hereditary propensity toward fanaticism." -Carl Sagan
"Am I cruel? Probably. Is she an idiot? Yes." -jane s.
Maybe you've not seen the episode yet. They made it very clear that he was honestly trying to get better, to turn around, and become a new House. And he wasn't in rehab, really, but an asylum.
And that's part of it, if he just goes back to normal, what was the point? The leg made sense because it was an experimental treatment. Experiments fail all the time.
Maybe that will be the twist. I saw the episode. Maybe we are being led to believe that he was being sincere in his attempt, then House spins it around and throws it right in our faces!
Just a thought.

CHipS - was so sorry to see it go...
Just a thought.
If that happened I'd imagine the writers and actors would never be able to leave their homes again for fear of being lynched by fans.
Well, this Flashforward doesn't look to be anything to get all ruffled up over.
I hope it tanks so that they can get Charlie back on Lost for it's last season. Same with that V for Juliet. I guess the shows don't need to fail for them to still be on it, but it'll piss me off if they don't at least show up somewhere next season.
I'm ticked off because my DVR didn't record the Mentalist, not much though, because I'm not a huge fan or anything but still, I would have liked to catch the premiere.
It didn't record Survivor either, but luckily enough I had it on that channel when it came on. I think it's storage is full, so time to clean it out.
Next up, Fringe...

Are you the Cable Guy?
those are all basic network shows. They got nothing to do with cable programming. duhhhhhhh!
also, I haven't watched the Fringe yet. It keeps going back and forth for me, between really good and really retarded.
If this one is good, i'm starting it's own Fringe thread. If it sucks, then to hell with it!
Haven't you guys mentioned watching the new season of Dexter already? I know i've seen a couple people saying how they're rewatching some of season three, but I coulda swroe I remember some saying how they were watching episode 1 or 2 from season 4 like a week back.
And yet, before watching an episode of WKUK tonight on IFC they ran a commercial for Dexter season 4 premiering this coming Sunday night. Whatsupwithdat?!?

Seeing the advance preview of the first S4 episode of Dexter has been pretty frustrating, I can't wait to find out what happens next but it's not even on TV until the 27th (and I'm guessing the next episode is a week after that).
I might check out the new season of Curb and How I Met Your Mother (I like it...I just don't know why). Two things I'm definately looking forward to are 30 Rock and Dollhouse.
