Theres a new edition of the movie on the shelves, if any of you have been thinking of adding it to your punk ass collection. It's got a shite load of extras thrown in, 2 discs, 9 deleted scenes, the making of, a retrospective (the look of the film now and then, the sound of the film now and then), interviews including irvine welsh, TS at the cannes film fest, and the other average extra stoof. All in an orange case with black text.

thank goodness.. i ve been waiting for something like this, because i refuse to convert to a dvd without any features.. this makes me happy because i am in complete love with this film and book. thanks for posting.

Are you sure that's for Region 1? That article only mentions Australia, which is coded for Region 4. Also, he says that it's coming out on Sept 3rd, and that's is a few days gone now and I haven't seen it mentioned on any Region 1 site or for sale in any store. Something like this would not pass by without notice. There would be advertising [not necessarily in commercials, but in Best Buy's weekly ad for sure and in DVD magazines].
I want it as much as everyhone else, but right now it looks like a Region 2, 4 exclusive. Hopefully, Miramax will sell it here as well.
Lets hope that the site is not being an arse. If you understand what I meant by that, good for you.
Also, if it was a US release, he wouldn't have used RRP for the price. In the US it's MSRP.

Yeah, I wish they would just code everything for Region 0. You could still use this one if you bought an All-Region DVD player.

I think that's true. A friend of mine has one [all region dvd player, not a pc] for his HD-TV, for anime. I'm not sure how much he paid for it.
PC dvd players are easily patched, cheers to kazaa. There are unregioned players on the market, at least here in aus
I bought that a while back and was a little dissapointed. If anyone saw Trainspotting at the cinema, you will have seen Diane show her monky's head during the Renton/Diane sex scene. It was just before consumating their brief affair. Diane dropped her dress to the floor so Renton could get an eye full. In the cinema version, you see the lot, and not just her tits.
So when the DVD came out, advertising that it was the uncut version, I was a little dissapointed to say the least.
Does anyone know why they had to cut that out, other than the fact they were showing some underage puuusaay?

Believe it or not, I got home with it on sunday night, it's now monday night, and I still haven't had a chance to watch it, let alone listen to the commentary on the deleted scenes..

There's just never enough room for all the quotes that seem necessary.
Just watched had a chance to watch it, the deleted scenes were great, apart from the quality. They even threw the injecting scene in, on the scene where rentboy od's. Having to press a button when the scissors appears totally sucks the pus though.
And pooka, diane doesn't show anymore on this version than the last. Although she does give a glimpse when she gets dressed and kicks renton into the hallway. Could this be what you might have confused it with? If that scene was deleted I have no idea why, I mean she shows it anyway so it's not like there were censorship issues, or the directors were worried it would take the focus off the main theme (which was my stab in the dark)..

No, its not the one I’m referring to. The one I’m referring to was a full frontal via las beaver shot. I swear it was definitely in there on the UK cinema release. This is going to drive me nuts now trying to find out why this shot was ever cut out. Please; if anyone out there knows the answer, tell me and put a stupid sad old Pook out of his misery.

loki, you can change it so the extra scenes are just there rather than pressing the scissors at the main menu.
