The Wall
If you haven't seen it, watch it. Now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxNM7j_ppHI What do you guys think of it? I love this film to death, though I don't fully understand it. I watch it like every weekend now.

I loved it and the album as well. I first saw it about 6 years ago on tv, and remember I had the same reaction: fucked up, yey! It's so meaningful to me up to this date.
I saw a lazer light show of The Wall once. Have you watched the Dark Side of Oz synched up thingy? It's pretty amazing for the first five songs or so. Especially when "Money" starts and it turns to color.

crazy... toys in the attic I am crazy... love this movie.
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me alone.

I'm not a big Pink Floyd fan, but I love The Wall and Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Don't know why I've never seen the film, except for the famous marching hammers part. Thanks for the link!
did you guys see Waters is doing a tour of The Wall this year? I wanted to get tickets but the prices are truly ridiculous
i watched the wall when i was a teenager, with my dad. i dont really remember it, other than the nipple shaving. i think that scarred me.

“...There are so many ways of being despicable it quite makes one's head spin. But the way to be really despicable is to be contemptuous of other people's pain. You ought to have some apprehension that the man you see before you was once even younger than you are now and arrived at his present wretchedness by imperceptible degrees.”
-James Baldwin
You actually tried it?

lol.
The movie is certainly the best thing Bob Geldof has ever (or will ever) do
I love the album.
I have only seen the movie once, on TV, commercials and everything. I'd like to watch it someday uninterrupted.
Merchandising!!!
I discovered the album only shortly before the movie about 22 years ago, and remember loving the trippy nature of it, but thinking it was pretty shitty film overall, and very British, which was strange to me at that time (I've since seen it a couple dozen times). That's a great record to play along to for young musicians, because the songs are very simple and use a lot of repetitive motifs.
Waters is staging The Wall here the night before Halloween, but $200 is a problem. Saw him on a previous tour where he had Doyle Bramhall Jr. on guitar, and it was stellar.
Ah shit, I close my eyes every time.

first time i saw the wall was like 15 years ago, i already loved the album but my dad thought the movie was a little to messed up for me to see, but we rented and watched it together. and i just thought, this is a fucked up movie! my kind of movie!
i have seen it probably 15 times since, i have the dvd, it's nice to crank it up with the surround.
and the album is still in my top 5 fav albums ever, just beautiful from start to finish.
nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it.
