The last film you bought:
This past week was the first time in a couple months where I purchased some DVDs.
I got Altered States for 5 bucks at a Used CD store. Then I went to target and got the Curb Your Enthusiasm first seasion. Currently, I am saving up so I can buy a big heaping assload of John Sayles flicks off Ebay (My Heroin Cyberspace)
"Excuse me sir, Did you wash your hands after you took that big heaping dump. You know that sign, that sign says ALL employees MUST wash their hands after using the restroom, What part of that do you not understand?"- Malcom X
"Would you care to lick my sweaty baulz after they have been dipped in the finest venerial juices and sauteed in my own ass-sweat, madam?"- Winston Churchill
I just got Super Troopers-the funniest movies i've seen in a long time....
Day of the Dead-classic
Reservoir Dogs-a fuckin cool movie
We Were Soldiers-a great war movie, really emotional

Better Luck Tomorrow - Good flick. By far the best to ever spring from the trendwhores at MTV. They didn't really have anything to do with it I think, just maybe funded it and slapped their names on it.
Other than that, the Akira Kurosawa Criterion Collection: Yojimbo, Sanjiro, The Hidden Fortress, and The Seven Samurai. All classics, all better than any American Western. Check out Seven Samurai if you ever saw "The Magnificant Seven"

Nice choice. I'm especially partial to Yojimbo and Sanjuro.

Oh yeah, I bought Miller's Crossing too. It's a sign you're being too careless with money when you don't remember everything you bought.
It's not easy having a good time.
Even smiling makes my face ache.
I bought Confessions of a Dangerous Mind the other day for $8 at the video store. 21 Grams comes out Tuesday so I'll be buying that next.
Just got The Royal Tenenbaums Criterion Collection. Damn Gwyneth is hot in that movie. Also planning on getting Lost in Translation any day now

Fight Club.
Before that: Braveheart.
^^The only two movies I own.

I'm gunna get Sanjiro soon. I got Yojimbo and I loved it.
Whats the Hidden Fortress like? I've only seen Yojimbo and Seven Samurai. Is Rashmon worth buying too?
Re-Animator...
I have never seen Titanic either.
Well, I've half-seen the end.
I saw DD a few weeks ago. It IS full of humour and hi-jinks. I really liked it.
Back on topic, last DVD I bought was Se7en.
Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction next. Maybe just go full-out and buy the Tarantino Collection DVD boxset thingy.
And, I'm thinking in bullet-points....
today i got Donnie Darko for £5.99...yay for me.
"when i pray, and sometimes i do, i pray to myself...and sometimes, if i'm lucky, i answer myself."
i bought the beach on dvd last week.
for 9.99, which is nise.

21 grams.
And MTV actually helped produce 'Election'. That was the second to last good thing out of MTV. 'Better Luck Tommorow' was ok but not better than 'Election'.
"I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotisms." Albert Einstein

Yes, it is. The Hidden Fortress is good, but Throne of Blood or High and Low are better.

Speaking of (behold the seemless segway. Behold!), I just bought Akira Kurosawa's Dreams with someone else's money, and heisted Schindler's List. Just to answer the topic question.
This really must stop...

I saw it in HMV for that.
But it was minus extras, and I'm an extras-fetishist.
And it had Gary Jules' name on a big sticker on front, so I was, like, screw that.

lamb skin condom+peanut butter+vaseline= my intestines
The last movies i bought were...the Fellowship of the Ring extended edition...all those extras were just too damn tempting. I also got Swimming with Sharks for $8. Great great movie. Kevin Spacey when he was still into doing "bad guy" roles.
I saw the Alien Quadrilogy thing used for $60...New it's $100, so good deal, but that's still a lot of friggin' money...but nine discs of Alien-goodness...Damn such choices.
Midnight Cowboy DVD for $4

Yesterday I bought:
200 Cigarettes. £3.99. Haven't watched it yet.
Kids, for £1.99. I used to have a copy of this, but leant it to some Jerkface and they got it confiscated at boarding school. The guy that sold it to me was pretty hot too, I think I'll be hanging around there.
The other week I bought Harold and Maude and Wallstreet on dvd. I still haven't watched them yet. I'll leave those two for rainy days.
that's the funniest think I've heard all day!

"when i pray, and sometimes i do, i pray to myself...and sometimes, if i'm lucky, i answer myself."
Yesterday I picked up 21 Grams. And I also found A Life Less Ordinary for $5. Certainly not Danny Boyle's best film by a long shot, but I think it's cute.
yeah it has no extras but...meh. i hadn't seen it before so i just bought it cause i'm like, so spontaneous.
Well, I'm not.
Most of my purchases are meticulously thought out...
The other personality living inside me, though... Quite random and impulsive.
But only after long, hard thinking sessions that lead to this decision.
And, I have now seen the DVD for £4.99. That's right, people, under five of our English pounds!

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
Used the Cult's Amazon search engine to buy Dog Day Afternoon (1975). In my humble opinion the best movie ever created. I've only seen it once, on TV, and I honestly couldn't find a single flaw. And, since it's my da's favourite movie as well, I thought it a bright idea to finally buy it.

Does anybody rent and copy/burn onto DVD+R ? I do this if the film is something that i like but there aren't many extras.
I was buying 5 DVDs a month a few years back but I've cut back considerably, especially with a DVD burner. The last DVDs I've purchased were Family Guy Seasons 1 + 2 and Rush Live in Rio.
Does anybody rent and copy/burn onto DVD+R ? I do this if the film is something that i like but there aren't many extras.
I've tried this, but they just never seem to fit on. Also, I'm having trouble finding good free software. The last one only burnt up to halfway through the film...
Last DVDs i bought: Return of the Living Dead 3 (not that great) and House I&II. Watched part of House I and fell asleep. I got both for $10.
You know im going to lose
Gamblings for fools

I just got Kids in the Hall Brain Candy this week. Last week was American Splendor, Matchstick Men, and the Two Towers. And I also bought Lost in Translation this month. Someone once told me I buy too many movies, but I don't see where they get that.
For those that bought (or just saw) 21 Grams, how is that? I thought of buying it without seeing it because I don't see how it could be bad. I love all three of those actors.

thats the spirit!
