The A Team
I thought this was going to be terrible. A Terrible movie based on something I loved from childhood that if I saw now would also be terrible.
Holy Fucking Shit a Stick of Butter!
Why didn't anyone say it was directed by Joe Carnahan? That shit shoulda been all over every trailer for it. All that guy does is make bad-ass films from top to bottom. The movie was infinitely better, even without Mr. T, than all of the episodes.
Jesus! What a cool flick!
..Really?
I cringed when I saw the trailer. Definitely not something I feel like watching, because I loved The A-Team tons as well as a kid.
What finally sold me on it was the scene in the trailer of the tank falling and them trying to fly it and all. Then it started coming on and doing like the little background bios of the different characters and I was all like "Hey! Just like Smokin' Aces!" Then it got to Directed by Joe Carnahan and I bolted up in my seat like "Oh Shit Yeah!"
fucking awesome. It was infinitely better than I thought it was going to be.
Step back. Evaluate. Recognize.
It looks pretty good to me. Maybe I'll check it out.

I did too. and was expecting them to butcher the whole thing. About the only thing that really bothered my was Liam Neesen as Hannibal. Everyone else is perfectly cast! They even have a couple scenes with them doing the whole MacGuyver thing, (and Yes! The A Team was doing Macguyver before Macguyver was doing Macguyver!) and building traps and weapons out of every little thing they come across.
The dialogue and characterizations are quick, sharp and witty.
The action and plotline are fun, inventive and constantly moving forward.
It's just everything I had always thought a Summer Thrill-Ride Blockbuster should be and haven't seen them come out with for decades.
Now to see if the new Predator movie can do the same thing...
And I don't follow all that MMA stuff, but that "Rampage" guy just wowed me with how good he was.
Hmmmmm, maybe you're making me curious now..
Yeah in the MMA world Rampage is a badass. He has fought some of the best toe to toe including Liddell.

yeah, but MMA isn't known for breeding good actors. It's not like it's the WWF.
To be in WWF don't you have to already be a good actor.

How was Sharlto's performance? I'm nervous to see after his acting in D9

I'm guessing he was Murdock. I thought he looked familiar but couldn't place my finger on where I had seen him before. He was pretty good. Nailed the crazy burn-out Pilot to a T. (<~~ HarHar!)
I flat out refused to go see it because from what I saw in the trailer I never thought it would do the tv show justice. I was dragged along by a friend and guilt tripped into going. (He had just been released from the hospital and wanted to go see it) I absolutely loved the film. I found it was very true to the show. Who knew Rampage Jackson could act!?
The movie was AMAZING. Liam Neesen's accent was weird and Jessica Biel was not likable at all. The entire time we were hoping she'd get killed. But the plot and characters were great and done flawlessly.
It was alright, not as bad as I thought it'd be, but not great either.

It was definitely entertaining. I had low expectations as well and was pleasantly surprised. It was fun.
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me alone.
