Songs that just utterly tear you apart
Pretty much any song from Les Miserables.
My Poppa made me write of list of songs to play at his funeral, and there were a few from that.
I got to see her live and meet her after a show last year, she's the cutest thing and so wonderful live. I highly recommend seeing her.
"For most of this century, scientists have worshiped the hardware of the brain and the software of the mind; the messy powers of the heart were left to the poets."
Yeah, a buddy of mine at work is a huge fan of hers. He's seen her a ton of times. Like a stalker amount of times. But he's seen her so many times she know him now hehe.

"Superstar"- The Carpenters
"One Day"- UGK
"L.A. County"- Lyle Lovett
I never heard it before this evening. So intense.
You guys should get a room and cry together
These are all so lovely.
I'm glad it's winter, I can listen to this whole album and it's perfect. Especially with the snow.

Wahh why can't I make the video show up?

Speaking of winter, here is a band that never ceases to remind me of winter.
Oh my gosh, me too Sarah! All of my family were obsessed with Les Mis in the 90s.
I bought my sister the whole of Les Mis (for some reason this is really hard to buy) on vinyl a few Christmases ago.
I think my favourite songs are Bring Him Home, Who Am I? and Heart Full of Love. Which are yours?
I also have a Les Mis sweater because I'm a loser.
Bring Him Home, for sure. I feel emotional just thinking about it!
There is a Castle on a Cloud. (Not because of my Poppa, I just think it's such a sweet song).
Do you Hear the People Sing is a powerful song too.
My Poppa also asked for Memory (from Cats), Close Every Door to Me and Any Dream Will Do (From Joseph).
Those songs are even more sad for me now, except for Any Dream, that can be a fun song.
I was on a weekend trip with my classmates in the 12th grade. I was in the lobby, stepped into the room, this song started on tv, I said: "I'm gonna start crying." Classmates: "Oh come on, how can -"
I was already in tears.
Shame on me for forgetting about this song.
Oh yes. And their live versions always sound much better. Also this:
This is cheesy, but it chokes me up. Probably because I was 18 in 1999.
I'd like to offer every bit of this advice to all of you young people. Especially the sunscreen part.
I'm full of cheese today.
Affected me deeply as a child whenever I heard it, because of that it still does.
check this version
Every single word of this, James saved my life once, when I was 17, saved me from myself. Spent weeks walking the city every day until he found me...
I'd like to offer every bit of this advice to all of you young people. Especially the sunscreen part.
Her complexion is the best argument for wearing sunscreen:

Pepper check this version out. I just seen it yesterday, opened this thread today....BAM this song!
And Eddie Vedder is a sexy beast! I had to add that.
Whatever Whore!

I forgot about this song. It's so much more amazing now. It's fucking beautiful.

Pretty much.
Fantastic song.
That was so great Winnie.
Yes, everybody else, wear sunscreen. And sit in the shade.
I listened to this CD a lot around the time my sister died.

Couple these two, that is about as close as it gets.
You just blew my mind. Mine would be "Dead Girl".
“Now remember my three beginner’s tips for picking up chicks: Address her by name, isolate her from her friends, subtly put her down.”
This song is so sad. I mean the guy pours his heart out in letters to his favorite star, yet she refuses to let him eat her ass. Ah unrequited lust.
“The man of knowledge must be able not only to love his enemies but also to hate his friends.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
Some may understand. Most of you wont.
Also. Best band YOU never heard of.
This is why we can't have nice things.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
I'm not the biggest lana del ray fan, but I think this song is a little sadder.
“if you want to be a bird,” you said once, “with colorful plumage and buoyant trills, you must also be ready for hollow bones."
Yeah, it sure is. That one has definitely grown on me.
This song gets me good.
Don't fall away and leave me to myself
Don't fall away and leave love bleeding in my hands
And I wanted
but you turned away
You don't remember
But I do
You never even tried
The Staind cover of this song has always done more for me than the Pearl Jam original. These lyrics <3 :
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be the sun in somebody else's skies
But why
Why
Why can't it be mine
Damnit I shouldn't have clicked in here. These two above are now on the list. Thanks Imke.

What happened to Staind?
They went back to their day jobs.
This song gets me good.

This is my all time favorite love song!! Those lyrics really get me! On Pearl Jams Documentary PJ 20, about the song Black, Eddie Vedder says "Its a true story and its something I really feel. I feel it every time I sing it." That even made it better for me. I am having trouble putting the video, but you need to check out the unplugged version they did for MTV. I don't like the original compared to the unplugged version. So passionate and heartfelt. I think you will enjoy. Also I like "Its Been Awhile" by Staind, the accoustic version.
Whatever Whore!
No need to give the reasons why. Just post them.
Pepper is that directed at me, the "don't need to give the reasons why just post them" comment, because of my above post to Imke?
Whatever Whore!
No.
That was me reiterating how much a tacky annoyingly romanticized song can tear me to pieces when nothing else lets me get there.
I can understand that.
Whatever Whore!
To think I might not see those eyes
Makes it so hard not to cry
And as we say our long goodbyes
I nearly do
Ugh, I love that song so hard.

I never heard it before this evening. So intense.
