Songs that just utterly make you happy
For the motivational lyrics.
I don't usually listen to music that would normally make anyone happy.
I mostly listen to music to change my mood. When I work out, I want to be a little pissed and aggressive. But a lot of the time, I want to be uplifted. So I have a lot of music that makes me happy. Here are a few that come to mind right away.
I love the video to this one as well.
Every part I ever through, had this song on rotation.
This song would be on rotation too. I guess the lyrics, aren't all happy, but it makes me be in a great mood.
I saw this band live when I was in high school. It was my first concert. I had such a fun time at that concert. I guess I probably think more of that when I listen to this song and it brings me back to that.
Okay, I'm not being honest. What makes me happy are songs I used to listen to when I was 12-13-14. Obviously not Evanescence and HIM, but lighter stuff like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Ace of Base and Jennifer Lopez.
This, in particular, was a great performance.
Yeah!
I'm all over the place. You guys will never figure out what makes me happy. haha
Love The Suicide Machines. All their music puts me in a good mood.
This song reminds me that it'll be okay.
And, come on, this song is about being in love. It has to make you happy.
I just love this song. So yeah.
And of course this one makes me happy. And I've always loved this video.
I just noticed that Alecia posted Hank III too. For some reason when I was reading them all, I thought it was Hank Jr.
Right on!
This one because it was one of the best shows I've been to and it was amazing.
Because Jaz reminded me.
From a tv series I used to love as a child.
Love Blister in the Sun reminds me of dancing with my friends.
The Strokes Last night is a good one.
I love Sublime's Mi Ruca and a few others.
But the one that never fails to pick me up is James Brown.
Other songs that make me feel good are
Cheek to Cheek
and Singin' in the Rain
most songs by No Doubt usually pick me up but my favorite because it reminds me of my cousins is Sunday Morning
I love No Doubt! They're releasing a new album this fall
I know I saw that.
And the Latin Americans who I used to love when I was in primary school:
Seriously the second song we learned in kindergarten. The first was a Romanian song that praises our language ("So sweet and beautiful/Is the language that we speak" and so on). In primary school we learned other songs such as:
Si vis pacem, para bellum
I think that is pretty interesting.
I listen to music for the exact opposite reason: To indulge my mood. And to bleed the mood out.
My music must match what I am feeling otherwise, even if it is my favorite music, it is nothing but annoying static that grates my sensibilities and makes me cranky.

^This.
I'd also add just about anything by the talking heads.
I love this one
For a long time I felt without style or grace
Wearing shoes with no socks in cold weather
I knew my heart was in the right place
I knew I'd be able to do these things.
And as we watch him digging his own grave
It is important to know that was where he's at
He can't afford to stop...that is what he believe
He'll keep on digging for a thousand years.
I'm walking a line-i'm thining about empty motion
I'm walking a line-just barely enough to be living
Get outa the way-no time to begin
This isn't the time-so nothing was done
Not talking about-not many at all
I'm turning around-no trouble at all
You notice there's nothing around you, around you
I'm walking a line-divide and dissolve.
Never get to say much, never get to talk
Tell us a little bit, but not too much
Right about then, is where she give up
She has closed her eyes, she has give up hope
I'm walking a line-i hate to be dreaming in motion
I'm walking a line-just barely enough to be living
Get outa the way-no time to begin
This isn't the time-so nothing was done
Not talking about-not many at all
I'm turning around-no trouble at all
I'm keeping my fingers behind me, 'hind me
I'm walking a line-divide and dissolve.
I turn myself around, I'm moving backwards and forwards
I'm moving twice as much as I was before
I'll keep on digging to the center of the earth
I'll be down in there moving the in the room...
I'm walking a line-visiting houses in motion
I'm walking a line-just barely enough to be living
Get outa the way-no time to begin
This isn't the time-so nothing was done
Not talking about-not many at all
I'm turning around-no trouble at all
Two different houses surround you, 'round you
I'm walking a line-divide and dissolve.
Never fails:
This is the slimmed down version with some of the wonderful lyrics cut out but when i first heard this song, it was from seeing this video:
I love her vocals:
The thing that sucks about this thread is this - my computer at work can't open it. It crashes my computer. Okay, really that's a thing that sucks about my computer at work more than a thing that sucks about this thread. Really though, a 20 gig hard drive? It's hard to believe those still exist, yeah?

Just Dance by Lady Gaga this song just makes me wanna move and makes me happy.
