"there's an army
on the dancefloor
it's a fashion
with a gun my love
in a room
without a door
a kiss is not enough
in
love my way
it's a new road
i follow where
my mind goes
they'd put us
on a railroad
they'd dearly
make us pay
for laughing
in their faces
and making it our way
there's emptiness
behind their eyes
there's dust
in all their hearts
they just want to
steal us all
and take us all apart
but not in
love my way
it's a new road
i follow where
my mind goes
swallow all your tears my love
put on your new face
you can never win or lose
if you don't run the race"
More later...

Wow. Thanks...I think. What is a Hotcha Girl? No bother. I'll find out myself. Though I'd like to know if it's disco? It sounds disco. Or is it a slow song? Let me know, because I'm going to find it hard tracking it down methinks.

Christ, I love these songs!
I love the fucking BAND! I'm glad someone on here can remember them. Then again, they were Dylan's backing band, so I guess if anyone would recall their beauty, it'll be you Archer.

Pooka it's a slow song and most definately not disco. It's very soft and floaty.

This is the rumor: Modest Mouse and Hot Hot Heat combined to form the band Ugly Cassanova, the nickname of a guy who followed Modest Mouse around and wrote them letters. He was insane, and most of the letters he wrote didn't make sense. Some did. He followed Modest Mouse everywhere and sent letters to them all the time. Then one day, the letters stopped coming. They figured that he either died or went completely insane. They decided to form a band in honor of him and named it Ugly Cassanova. The lyrics in the songs are taken from the letters he wrote them, which is why some of the lyrics make no sense at all... they were written by an insane guy. Thats also why there isn't a second album, they didn't have any more letters.

The picture is becoming a lot clearer now as to why you picked that song for me.
I'm sorry if you think I'm a bit mental... I'm not, and I don't know if what you've just written is either a nice way of telling me to stop pestering you with replies to your posts, or just another classic Maddy piece of trivia. I'm hoping it's the latter of the two.

The Blue Monkeys are coming
Let's just enjoy the song, shall we.
The fact you didn't use a question mark at the end of your post indicates to me my first asumption was true. If I've offended you in anyway, let me know, and I'll try to make amends. I'm not being all insecure here, I just want to know that we're cool.

Sweet Jesus! That song reminds me of some 80 year old whore singing in a French jazz bar while pulling lightbulbs out her front hairy bottom! That's not at all good Brak. It's a good job you included the Stones, or else I'd get on the earliest flight to your country and open a can of woopydo ass on you... Actually, if I could afford to do that, I'd rather have a drink with you instead.

Wasn't this song about pulling your plums? You know, how when you're bashing the bishop your face turns upwards towards the ceiling and your eyes become a lot more narrow?
The Blue Monkeys are coming
Pooka! I picked one of Edith's classics because it's supposed to represent all good things about Paris and I just imagined us sitting in a cafe listening to it...and if you don't like it, you can just kiss my whoopydo ass! Haha.
poetry...I didn't pick one for you because I can't think of a good song yet.
Archer...awwww...thanks for the song. I actually haven't heard that one, but I'll make it my mission to track it down.
