I really like that soundtrack, which is kinda weird, cause I think country sucks, but that's not really country, it's more like Bluegrass, which I kinda like, but then again it's kinda like country, so I don't, but I do. Y'know? It's good.
Currently listening to Jimi Hendrix - Red House. More blues rock guitar. It's a wonderful thing.
Aaliyah and Amon Tobin.

I like this album, but I still don't totally "get it." Has anyone else heard this?

I don't know if I have enough of Beefheart's extensive collection to call myself a "fan," but I have Safe as Milk, Mirror Man and Trout Mask Replica and I really dig what I got. Safe as Milk is sort of straight forward blues rock (Ry Cooder was in the band back then), Mirror Man is more bluesy rock with lots of cool experimentation slipping into the music (really cool record) and Trout Mask...well, you know about Trout Mask. If you dig this, you should check out the Shaggs which was on my "now playing" post. Don't know if you know them or not, but they are teenage sisters whose father encouraged them to record an album back in 1969. Not having much exposure to outside music , some of the tracks have very Beefheart-esque instrumental works while the girls sing about their cat foot foot and about how parents really do understand and care. The year after it came out, Zappa sited it as one of his favorite records.
in my CD player = The Verve - Urban Hymns
right now on the computer = Liquid Liquid - Cavern
Beatles - Yesterday
Radiohead - The Bends
