new batman film
is anyone excited about this? I mean christian F-ing Bale is playing batman/bruce wayne and he is more then perfect(in my eyes) and he is also who i have dreamed of playing this role since i saw american phyco and equalibium. all they need to do now is cast the scarecrow correctly(james spader anyone?) and ra's agul is rumored to be john malkavich and i think that is a fine choice if it is true. gordon is a tough one but dennis quaid and kurt russel are both said to be in the running for the role and i feel either would do a fine job. i just wish they could find a way to start over and use the joker again but make him more insane. even though jack was great and batman is one of my favorite comic adaptation. i myself have been a long time reader of the batman series and feel very strong about this movie and have high hope.
i mean he is the best comic "super"hero there is. and nolan directing is one of the best choices i have seen warner bros. making when coming to comic movie adaptations. OH i cant wait!

and whats this about the other batman movie coming out with aronofsky working on it? i read that somewhere he was doing a different batman project.
i didnt realize the scarecrow would be in this new one, that's even fucking awesomER.
the aronofsky batman film has been put on hold but what i have heard is that it is a origin type story(prequal). it was supposed to be based on frank millers baman : year on

So I guess they could bring the Joker back?

woah woah woah, lets not get ahead of us. bateman will dominate the role, but common. keaton dominated the roll, and slapped it around
It'd be idiotic to not bring back Joker. There's been so many different batman stories told over the years, why use the continuity of the last four movies? That'd be like following the continuity of the Adam West movie.
Though I don't think Joker (or Two-Face or Riddler for that matter) should be in the first few, if this indeed becomes a franchise. People will go just because it's Batman. The lesser villians and the gangsters are enough for now.
It's not easy having a good time.
Even smiling makes my face ache.
If you remember the first Batman movie though, you'd remember The Joker was a bigger marking tool than Batman.

and there was Clean&Sober, and Mulitplicity, and um.... he was is Much Ado About Nothing..... Wait, he was awesome in Beetlejuice... Michael Keaton was the man in one movie!

Speaking of Keaton in the movies... JACKIE BROWN SUCKED...

To be fair, Jackie Brown has parts to enjoy. Many. But since they all happen after the first hour of build-up, you're gonna be squirming. Unless you're a 70's exploitation film buff, in which case you'll be all giddy n'shit... the famous Quentin dialogue isn't there. The non-linear storyline is. Samuel L.Jackson is, but not in any way we haven't seen him a dozen times already, make that two or three dozen. Bobby DeNiro and Bridget Fonda get big kudos from most for their roles, and frankly DeNiro bores me these days... is it just me or was seeing those two sup on a big bad bong pretty much the limit of what they achieved in the roles?
Pam Greer aint too shabby but she's not saving this flop. Robert Forster, who was nominated for an Oscar... well he didn't suck a lot, but an Oscar? Was I the only one wondering when he was going to show emotion? Still Ilike Forster.I don't want to ruin any endings for you, but the kiss at the end between forster and Greer... well.. you may want to avert your eyes for a bit. It's like watching two old homeless people get into some jiggy-jiggy. Just a tad off-putting. In fact the ending of Jackie Brown is the perfect example of what ails this film. It's long, boring, nothing really happens and at the end you think.. "is that all? Is there more after the credits?"

batman sucks, hes the superhero of the upper classes!
now peter parker, theres a hard working normal guy, with the same problems we have PLUS he is waaaay cooler.
ok so batman has the cool dark thing going on. but he aint the best.
man, im such a geek.
Just my own bit of info. They are making Batman vs Supes.
It's good news for sure. What intrigues me is that they would consider an adaptation of Frank Miller's Year One for a big screen treatment. I do hope they end up going ahead with that project and I hope it kicks ass at the box office because then they might be forced to consider a treatment of The Dark Knight Returns and I would probably need to change my pants.
Meh.
Hellboy is and will always be the coolest superhero.

ye;It would be tough to bring the joker into the Aronofsky prequel wouldn't it? I mean he became the 'joker' in the first Batman movie. Unless they ignored this like they did when Highlander 2 said they were all aliens and Highlander 3 just pretended it didn't happen. that was funny... in a terrible kind of way.
They can just start their own continuity with the next Batman movie, no explanation is needed then.

Spiderman? He's just some goof who happened to be bitten by a spider. Just dumb luck, he never did anything to earn his powers. Ditto Superman.
Batman did it all himself. Instead of just kicking back with his parents' money he uses it to dress up like a giant bat and fight crime!
You can have your mutant shlubs who just stumbled into their superheroing.

I really must admit when someone is right. Batman is a badass who doesn't need good luck to kick ass. He just needs millions of dollars and time on his hands.
BURN!
