Music Your Suppose To Not Like
janey, i'll see what i can do....although i've heard juliana theory. i didn't know they were "emo" though....i didn't know weezer was emo, either.
But that's what's great about Weezer. Well, at least the first album. I won't defend any of their stuff past that, it's kinda boring. But their first album.. it's just so... dorky. I dunno, it's good.

Leonard, he sent me a PM a little while ago on this topic. He's working more lately, I think, and I know he's writing a novel. He was always one of those here-for-one-week gone-for-another-week types anyway, the bastard.

no hes fukn not.
hes staying home and painting Lord of the Rings miniatures all day and pretending that he doesnt want to come to my housewarming party.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
A friend of mine's girlfriend took him to a dashboard show and the guy (i forget his name) started crying on stage. My friend said it was absolutely hilarious. He was laughing so hard that it was drowning out the guy's crying.
Emo seems to be a style now. Someone mentioned tight t-shirts. I normally wear an XL t-shirt, but if I were to become emo, I would have to squeeze in a woman's extra-small to fit in. Emo is also tight thrift shop pants, dark-rimmed glasses (whether you need them or not), and puffy hair (although the hairstyle can vary). Also mesh baseball caps are being added to the trend.
I was at a party one time and I got into a convo with someone about music. He told me he was into punk and hardcore. So I was all like "cool, what are some bands you enjoy." Not only did he not name one punk/hc band, but every band that he named was emo. The moral of the story is that it annoys me that they have the nerve to call these whiny bands punk or hardcore when they wouldn't know what to do if they heard a real hardcore band.
Now that I described a little bit about my experiences with the emo people, play the EMO GAME: http://www.emogame.com/
Play it, NOW!!!
Tight t-shirts are good. Well not like super tight, but XL looks trashy, imo. I used to be into that.. Then I realized "wtf i look like shit." So I stopped. I just wear shirts that *gasp* fit me. (Mediums)
I still like baggy pants, though. I don't have too many, though, anymore. Cos I got rid of my old raver pants and just kept the ones that were semi-baggy and not too goofy.
I do the thrift store thing, and yeah, it was introduced to me through an emo kid, but shit, why not? It's CHEAP. I don't have the money to spend fucking $30 on a shirt or $50+ on a pair of pants... Fuck that. I can get pants for $2 and a shirt for under a $1 at a thrift store, and they look fine.
No mesh caps though. Blah.. if I get a hat, it'd be a top hat. Heck ya..
And hair - my hair is messy and long.. but it's out of laziness. It's always been that way, before emo exist. Yo..
Sorry. I'm not emo, although I like some emo, but I like plenty of other shit, too.
Wes, that was me being tactful. Thanks. For that. Although I didn't know that about the LOTR miniatures *snicker*
I was really into Dashboard a year or so ago, and i'm still supposed to go to a concert in Omaha on Friday with a whole ton of friends. I don't know, I guess I...outgrew them? I still like them a lot, they just kind of seem to be the band that every 14 year old girl, if she likes it, makes her think she's into emo. Blargh that.
There is hope, but not for us.
I don't hate any specific genre of music. Hatred is too low an emotion even for those pandering to lower emotions.
You don't know me.
emo glasses rule! KO! i dont wear them, but i actully want to. ha whattageeeek.
and i always thought weezer were geekrock?
They are. There's kind of a fine line between geek rock and emo, I think. It's all about the late adolescent angst, Ruby.
There is hope, but not for us.
I was generalizing the "emo look." I wear XL because it fits me. I have more of a sturdier build, so L would be tight and uncomfortable. I just don't understand how anyone could possibly be comfortable in those tight "emo" shirts. Those shits would dig into my armpits all day.
Isn't interesting how talking about music and clothing style is very related. You can often tell what kind of music a person listens to by what he wears. With me it is kind of hard because I like to keep it very simple. I prefer plain colored t-shirts with no writing or a minimal logo if absolutely necessary and blue jeans (regular blue, not the really dark or really light ones).

Desaparecidos rock so much. But just for the record, they're not a BE spinoff, they're just Conor Oberst's other band.
What music do I dislike? I really. really. really. hate new country. If it was made after 1970, you can just shove it up your ass.
There is hope, but not for us.
