Music Your Suppose To Not Like
hey so i know al lot of us are very strong to our musical tastes and that some just wont dare go into a different area of music because of theyre profound deep hatred for it. me, i never owuld go near rap or hip hop or gino beats etc. but there are always those times when you make an exception. no matter who you are you just havta listen to that one song thats froma genre you just hate. so tell us about the genres you hate and their songs you just love, no matter how ridiculous.
I don't HATE rap, but I don't love it. But I love Paul Barman.

well ic ant stand rap. but cant stop listenning to Sir-Mix-a-Lot's Big Butts, or Organyzed Rhyme's Check The O.R. (it was the rap group Tom Green was in!!!!!!!!!)
i actually really like hip-hop. not all that ja rule, eminem et al bollocks (that's not hip hop, it's rap-pop), but good stuff like the roots, grandmaster flash, the streets, loads actually!
woo for decent hip hop
black eyed peas
I think everyone is supposed to hate metal. They're conditioned that way.
YOU FUCKED THE WORST, NOW FIGHT THE BEST!

I hate rape and reggae, but I just can't get those Sean Paul songs out of my head. They're pretty good, I'm sorry to say.
"fromt he early morn we'r eognna get it on" i admit it, i came down and shaked my ass to that song this morning
I love George Michael
why can't you do it?
why can't you set your monkey free?
always giving in to it-
do you love the monkey or do you love me?
why can't you do it?
why do I have to share my baby with a monkey

hahaha, monkeeeey!
oh I count to ten
but I don't know how and I don't know when
to open my eyes
if you kiss me again
like you just did now, like you just did then-
I've had the rest
now it's time I had the best
so you tell me that you won't do anymore

For some reason I found that really funny. I know it's a small typo but still, it could be worse, you could have said you loved it. I keep getting having that scene from Blazing Saddles pop into my head.
"What are your qualifications?"
"Rape, murder, arson and rape."
"You said rape twice."
"I like rape."

You go girl!

if I keep on askin' baby, maybe
I'll get what I'm askin' for
lets all sing the chorus now!
oh I hate your to open your eyes
yes the monkey's back again
do you want him now like you did back then?
I tried my best
but your head is such a mess
so I guess that I don't want you anymore
The only thing I never go near is country. Not only that I don't think any of it will be good....none of it is good to me. I'll give anything a chance.
But rap/hip hop...eh. It's okay. I might like one song once in a while. My biggest problem is I don't give things a chance. But then again...the last time I gave something a chance, and it took good recommendations......I ended up w/ a mess of sound on this song, I think it was The Streets. God it was awful.
*points and laughs at mirkah and m-ho*
Join in Moe! Sing it with the sistahs!
i'm proud to say there isn't a single musical genre that i don't like as a whole...except perhaps the celine dion/mariah carey genre. they suck donkey balls.

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
Wow. That's so 'Farenheit 451' meets 'Lullabye.' Now I'm scared that someone might be developing the technology to implant a rap-chip in my head.
There is hope, but not for us.
I like big butts and I cannot lie!
You other brothers can't deny!
When a girl walks in with an itty-bitty waist,
And a round thing in your face you get... sprung!
Wait...
What was this thread about again?
Will, you have to stop doing that. For real. You keep getting songs stuck in my head.
There is hope, but not for us.
Oh yeah...
Even the jeans she's wearing
Her pants are almost tearing!
Ooh... baby, I wanna get witcha'
And take your pitcha'
My homeboyz tried to warn me
But that butt you got makes... me... me... me so horny!

Rape, Rap, what's the difference!?
insomnomaniac, I was reading you're sig for the quadrupomillionth time, and a thought came into my head: "What happened to Rohan?" So I decided why not ask you?
So, here goes nothing:
"What happened to Rohan?"
Metallica...I just realized a little while ago, their songs don't do anything for me except give me a headache. Seek and Destroy...ugh. They make me want to get out of whatever room I'm in and/or shoot myself.
Oh yeah and that mainstream rap.
WE GO PARTY LIKE ITS YA BIRTDAY..WE GO SIP BACCARDI LIKE---BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM!!!!! DONT KILL ME NOOOOOOO STOP STOP WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!? BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM!!!!!!
AAHHAHAHAHHHHHH!!uygdsjfvsdjkfsadf
Then again, I might be wrong.
EMO!!!
i HATE emo!
Emo is gay. Stop crying you whiny bitches. I went to a hardcore show and an emo band opened up (for some odd reason) and the entire crowd was yelling: "Grow some testicles!" Then the lead singer stopped singing and cursed the crowd out. He told us that he got bullied in school and he didn't need to be bullied here.
Emo is gay!!
but they cant get girlfriends and have hair growing in places it never did before.
let those poor little boys try to cope with growing up.
yes, its fomo. i agree mr apple.

don't even think about saying Radiohead is emo.
Trent Reznor whines...he's not emo. He's a rockin' sockin' mofo.
most rapists are white. oh, and one letter "e".
don't know. being his freakish elvin australian self, i suppose. when did i become in charge of rohan?
*raises bloodstained, craggy rusted axe high above her head as she sneaks up behind leonardshelby*
*drops axe suddenly, tackles shelby from behind and gives him a furious noogie*
you almost had me going there.

I admit, I'm not a big radiohead fan. I'm going to get criticized for this next statement on this board, but oh well. I do think radiohead is a bit overrated. I don't see whats so special, but I do not hate them, and I don't consider them emo.
Dashboard Confessional and those type of "indy" bands are what I consider emo. I can't stand it. Emo gives me a headache.
Noogies are excellente, estan muy bien, gracias. Radiohead has this...vibe, this...amazingness? I don't know, I used to not like them until this year, I actually gave them a chance. And now, what do you know, they're my favorite band. Alongside Trent and the Gang. That's what NiN should change the name to; Trent and the Gang.
I only like one Radiohead song...Creep from when I was younger. One of those songs that sticks w/ me, like that Eurythmics song. Anything else by them bores me.
And emo. lol. I went to see thursday and some other bands. I don't know if they're considered emo or not, but the crowd certainly was trying to be. It's pretty bad when all of the t-shirts they were selling wouldn't even fit my finger through the arm hole.
Ok since this is the RH section I really didn't like Creep, but then I bought OK Computer on a recommendation and then I became a fan...of..uh...OK Computer and some of the Bends. I thought the new stuff was lame as hell until I listened to Amnesiac all the way through in my car and thought it was incredible. Pyramid Song was the one that did it for me. Thats what 4 posts in a row? Man I love talking about Radiohead.
Then again, I might be wrong.
Same, same. Go to Radiohead.com and join the Ziggurat then. I'm Hammurabi there. It's basically a chat room, where people talk about anything but Radiohead. Typical, really typical. I mean, this is a Chuck message board and we barely mention the guy!
I'll do that...I'll be andthewallsbend
Then again, I might be wrong.
Nice. See you there some time.
hey, can i just ask...whatthefuck is emo? this term is tossed around all the time, and i keep thinking of emo phillips. and i know that's not what you're talking about...
"something caught my eye and dragged me 15 feet."
so far, radiohead and dashboard confessionals have been mentioned as possible emo bands, and sweet bald-headed jesus, i couldn't think of two groups that could be more dissimilar.
someone please enlighten me. thanks.
Emo is short for emotional. It consists of lyrics about getting dumped.
So really, a whole shit load of music is emo.
call me crazy, but i want all my music to be emo; by your definition, anyway.
but i guess what i want are some examples of emo, if you will.
Well Dashboard Confessional is like the epitome of 'mainstream' emo, I suppose.
If you want some good emo - check out Sunny Day Real Estate. Quite wonderful. But there's plenty of trash out there, as is the case with most genres.
Radiohead is absolutely not emo.
And yeah, Weezer is emo... However - their first album was good, dammit. And El Scorcho (from Pinkerton) is also good.
Then again, maybe their first album just stuck with me cos I first heard it when I was 12. Hrm... I still think it's good. So fuck off, nigguh.
I guess I'm just getting old.
I have all these fond memories of the music I liked in middle school and junior high.. haha....
Back in the day when Offspring didn't suck. When Green Day was still fun, etc.
seems like a lifetime ago.

Leonard, he sent me a PM a little while ago on this topic. He's working more lately, I think, and I know he's writing a novel. He was always one of those here-for-one-week gone-for-another-week types anyway, the bastard.
There is hope, but not for us.
Also, on the emo bashing: all your emo-bashing makes me sad.
AHAHAHHAHAH!!!...sorry
Seriously though, Moe, check out Bright Eyes, Cursive, Juliana Theory. 3 of the best.
There is hope, but not for us.
PE #1! Bass Bass Bass for Your Face! Yeaaah Boyeee!
Sorry, I'm a huge Public Enemy fan, I like NWA too.
Can't say I like the emo though....
I like the Bright Eyes spin off thing, Desaparecidos...
Is At the Drive-In considered emo? I'm a huge ATDI / Mars Volta fan....
What was this topic about? Music you hate?
I hate the fucking EAGLES.
Slice Up and Not Accross

I also loathe rap, hip-hop and any other such genre but I had to make an exception when I heard an English cockney rapper in his band The Streets.
